[19:33:19] bill6502: Sabotender, poke arounc for EDID, this is an example solution, https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Nvidia-cards_and_ . . . efore_the_TV

[19:40:48] Sabotender: Oh! Sorry for late reply, bill6502, I was getting ready to do some chores outside, and I heard your beep. I raised my question in the linux channel regarding my display doing wonky things and not persisting settings. I recieved some help creating a dummy display that will never disconnect the signal whenever my television is turned off. I am in the testing phase right now, and so I didn't want to say that it had been resolved ; I am
[19:40:48] Sabotender: witholding judgement. Gotta test first. It was a rather annoying issue. I really appreciate the link that you sent to me.
[19:43:03] Sabotender: mack: lol, nope, just using the remote. it wwas just that when I turned off the TV,Xubuntu interprested it as an 'unplugged' display, which was nonsense. I didn't unplug the HDMI or anything.
[20:48:02] Scopeuk: that's fairly normal for displays, they "unplug" when the display goes off so the host knows not to send video there

[23:23:32] Sabotender: Scopeuk: That would have been fine, if it hadn't been for all of my display resolution settings constantly being reset, not only on the desktop, but for mythtv. Nothing was persistent.Reconfiguring things with a dummy realy seems to have solved things. I am just fearful to becoming prematurely pleased. Suppose I'd give it a few more hours 😛
