| [01:37:34] | Sabotender: | nac I hope you've been well! I am having a curious problem with some of my scheduled recordings. The scheduler cannot seem to acquire a strong signal lock to a channel, and often pulls a poor signal, and produces a damaged recording. I have tested this over several days, using "Watch TV' section, and have been able to make a strong signal lock to all those channels that have been having issues with the recorder/scheduler, and could watch |
| [01:37:34] | Sabotender: | them with a clear picture. I think there may be something here that could be causing this, there may be more than one channel/frequency for a single network, but how do I force the scheduler to use only the strongest frequency/lock method? That is truly a head-scratcher. I have other questions, if you don't mind; I know you sent me some information how to modify an installed theme, but I lost that data. I want to improve one of the common |
| [01:37:34] | Sabotender: | themes, with additional features, that had not been included, such as changingin the colorisation for the icons, like when a recording had been watched, there should be a small eyeball placed to the far left of the title, but its the tiniest thing, and in a bland colour that blends in a bit too well, and is easy to miss. When I am done, I want to release something like..."Sabo'sInstalled Theme Booster Pak:" |
| [02:02:55] | Sabotender: | mack: Oops sorry, I didn't quite spell your name, lol |

| [03:19:56] | bill6502: | Sabotender, go to the Channel Editor in the Web App. Select a channel and press the pencil to edit it. Then scroll down to change the Priority. Or, mark the channel Invisible if you never want to tune to it. |
| [03:21:56] | Sabotender: | ! |
| [03:23:15] | Sabotender: | bill6502: I really appreciate this information. If I attempt to change the priority, would it prevent it from recording? These are programs that I enjoy watching, and wouldn't want to miss any episodes. |
| [03:27:15] | Sabotender: | I just made it back home from being on holiday in England visiting my parents. I returned, and noticed so many blue labelled recordings, meaning that yhey are so damaged, that it's not even worth watching. Including several yellows, which indicates a damaged recording. There are numerous white as well, indicating a good recording. I just think that the scheduler is tuning a bad frequency, or something. |
| [03:29:00] | bill6502: | You'd raise it if for a channel you prefer to record on more than another. |
| [03:30:56] | bill6502: | The scheduler uses the information discovered when doing the channel scan. I've never heard of it altering frequencies. |
| [03:31:04] | mack: | Sabotender: I once had lots of signal quality issues, and therefore failed recordings, and it was frustrating. It sounds like you're in an area with networks broadcasting on multiple channels. If you have a higher quality signal from one station than another, you can choose the better channel in your Recording Rules. |
| [03:31:57] | mack: | oops, I started typing that long ago, and hit enter just now without looking that bill answered. |
| [03:32:00] | Sabotender: | Oh, I had almost forgotten! My scheduled jobs are backed up also. I went into the history, and tried to delete the job that is stuck, for marking advertisements, but, it's impossible. I performed a Google search on this subject, and there was something about trying to delete it via command line… What I really want, is to delete all of the jobs, I don't mind manually scheduling for advert skipping. |
| [03:33:36] | bill6502: | Sabotender, changing priorities won't cause loss of recording, it just means a channel with a higher priority for the same recording would be used. |
| [03:34:30] | Sabotender: | Ooh ooh, I wanna fix that nao ! I wonder how I can tune all those different frequencies for the same broadcast network. LiveTV doesn't automatically, I think. He waits for a signal lock. |
| [03:35:26] | bill6502: | Sabotender, delete jobs from the frontend, Information Center, System Status, Job Queue |
| [03:35:32] | Sabotender: | give me just a mo. Gonna go into my recording rules |
| [03:36:04] | mack: | messing with those broadcast frequencies is a Danger Area. |
| [03:36:29] | Sabotender: | bill6502: That is where I attemtped to delete them. I select delete, but it persists. |
| [03:37:20] | mack: | Sabotender: for your Live TV, are you watching Live TV in MythFrontend, or are you streaming right from your HDHR? |
| [03:51:24] | bill6502: | Sabotender, I'd try restarting the backend if you haven't already (to stop any running jobs) and possible<<< clear the job queue. If that doesn't work, there are SQL commands to clear it (TRUNCATE jobqueue;) Stop the backend before doing that. |
| [04:00:30] | bill6502: | g'night |

| [04:01:41] | Sabotender: | Ah ha! I need to find out how to restart the backend. |
| [04:30:42] | Sabotender: | I found it |
| [04:38:34] | Sabotender: | mack: Sorry about the late response, I am watching live TV through the Frontend |
