[19:17:14] Sabotender: It is so briliiant that all those post processing steps could be done internally, by MythTV by calling separate jobs. Personally, all I want are the commercials stripped. Keeping the same quality and encoding the same in which it had been recorded is of little interest to me, as I am pleased with the results as-is. At the moment, I am just fast-forwarding past the commercials, but...I'm gonna dabble some more. Lotsa intersting things for
[19:17:14] Sabotender: me to do while I am taking breaks from work. And Mack is quite correct, the built in player is really really nice I had been expecing some wonkiness, but haven't found any as of yet. I had been expecing it to choke up during my quick fast-forwarding or rewinding but it skips well.

[20:16:45] Roklobster: Where to I make my official complaint about Mythweb being deprecated? I'd like to speak to the manager.
[20:33:07] Roklobster: when ebay goes stupid and the bid price reaches new price. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/135576215355
[20:33:39] Roklobster: i can pay the same money to Scorptec and have it tomorrow, not next week and without bent pins
[20:33:56] Roklobster: sorry wrong channel
[21:00:31] mack: compaints department: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=t . . . v26fqQ&s
[21:09:48] Roklobster: Righto time to move to the 2020's. Been using mythweb->.asx to play in windows since 2009.
[21:12:22] Roklobster: apart from upnp in vlc which doesn't give much program context (which mythweb did really well being quite information dense) what's a good way of playing? I can't seem to find the mythtv plugin for kodi
[21:12:49] Roklobster: https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:MythTV_PVR_Client seems really out of date
[21:15:04] Roklobster: oh nevermind, found it
[21:24:51] Roklobster: all good, kodi plugin seems fine. any other windows player suggestions?
[21:26:13] mack: kodi+pvr.mythtv is really good. Scheduling is a little wonk, though.
[21:27:23] mack: whenI was running windows as a desktop, I used kodi+pvr.mythtv and a VM with a basic debian image and mythfrontend for commercial cutting and scheduling.
[21:27:30] Roklobster: yeah just having a play withthe linux version. seems fine. never used it before. need to get deinterlacing removal going
[21:27:53] Roklobster: we don't both with commercial cutting, just skip through then delete the program
[21:28:00] Roklobster: once watched
[21:28:17] mack: commercial marking, I mean.
[21:28:45] mack: some programs it's flawless. There are some I do a sanity check scrub through and mark correct ones.
[21:30:46] mack: my main big TV viewing is kodi+pvr.mythv with the commercials correctly marked.
[21:47:53] mack: Also, Roklobster, you should be able to view through the web interface (replacement for mythweb) at yourmythback:6544 like you did with mythweb.
[21:48:15] mack: I haven't, but hopefully they've dumped asx :)
[21:48:37] mack: I haven't tried watching through the web interface, I mean.
[21:51:18] Roklobster: yeah 6544 works and have used it before, but the download option only downloads the whole .ts, not pass a reference to VLC like asx
[21:51:34] Roklobster: anyway, looks like kodi it is
[21:56:08] mad_enz (mad_enz!~mad_enz@2607:f2c0:e241:fe84:179:5c8b:1f34:a06d) has quit (Remote host closed the connection)
[21:57:04] Roklobster: mythtv as a recorder has proven brilliant for the 15+ years I used it
[21:57:19] Roklobster: still do dvb-t and iptv from a friend
[21:57:31] Roklobster: friend dvbt setup on the other side of the world
[22:01:57] Roklobster: i realise the community is dwindling and am amazed and grateful for the maintainers
[22:44:04] mack: Roklobster: I'm a little curious if you right-click the download link in the web interface, can you paste it in VLC to start playback?
