| [14:34:34] | gigem: | peterbennett, markspieth: It looks like android:noHistory="true" might do part of the trick. It's documented to close the app when the user navigates away from it. The observed behavior, however, seems to be that it is only closes the app when its memory is needed. |
| [14:37:41] | gigem: | I'm not sure about stand by mode yet. In my testing, returning to an instance that was manually put into stand by mode always resulted in the app restarting. That was even before trying the noHistory thing. It could be a bug in stand by mode or it could be something else. |
| [14:41:52] | gigem: | Finally, it's not entirely clear what to do if playback is underway when the user navigates away. Pausing playback should probably be done. Kodi does that. And setting a bookmark might be good to do also. However, I don't think stand by mode can be entered with playback paused but still active. It could be very annoying to have playback exited for a quick switch to another app right back to mythtv. |
