[08:27:44] stuarta: gigem: i don't think it's specifically the schedule times. the scheduler is busy doing "something", i can see the sched thread taking 99% cpu for anything up to a few minutes, whilst it's in this state the backend isn't responding to the frontend in a timely manner
[08:28:12] stuarta: gigem: but the sched times where up in the 24–30s range, with the majority in check

[14:31:10] gigem: stuarta: Even though the scheduler is busy, the lock shouldn't be held during that time. I just checked the code and that should still be the case. You might have to run the backend under gdb or force a core dump when it's in that state to see where the contention is.

[16:15:18] stuarta: gigem: btw this is with fixes/0.28
[16:18:53] stuarta: gigem: as luck would have it, i've just managed to catch it doing it

[17:11:59] gigem: stuarta: Can you run "thread apply all bt" instead of just "bt full"? Also, what exact git version are you running? At first glance, nothing looks obviously wrong.
[17:33:54] stuarta: gigem: that particular thread is the one consuming all the cpu
[17:34:18] stuarta: however my source is newer than the build, so i've rebuilt it and it's starting up now

[17:36:38] JohnBergqvist: Whereabouts in base_schedule.xml does it specify the text format used in the 'Blocks' on the frontend EPG?
[17:37:00] JohnBergqvist: Currently it's in the format of "%TITLE% (%CATEGORY%)" but i'd like to change that
[18:10:15] willcooke (willcooke!~willcooke@ubuntu/member/willcooke) has quit (Quit: Do your hobbies)
[18:14:16] stuartm: JohnBergqvist: may not be in base_schedule.xml, the base definitions stuff is optional, it can be specified in the xml defining the guide screen itself
[18:14:32] JohnBergqvist: you mean schedule_ui.xml?
[18:14:34] JohnBergqvist: its not in their either
[18:14:50] stuartm: do you mean in the guide grid itself?
[18:15:06] JohnBergqvist: yes
[18:15:18] stuartm: ah, right, that was never fully ported to mythui style markup, so right now you can't change it
[18:15:21] JohnBergqvist: oh.
[18:15:23] JohnBergqvist: damn.
[18:15:26] stuartm: it's hard-coded
[18:15:36] JohnBergqvist: ok
[18:15:37] stuartm: you can toggle display of the category in settings
[18:15:39] JohnBergqvist: never mind
[18:16:07] stuartm: and a couple of other things, but aside from that it's not really customisable, which is why it looks similar in every theme :(
[18:16:13] JohnBergqvist: ah ok
[18:16:31] stuartm: it was on the infamous todo list ...
[18:20:25] JohnBergqvist (JohnBergqvist!~JohnBergq@host81-151-24-91.range81-151.btcentralplus.com) has quit (Quit: Leaving)
[18:35:36] gigem: stuarta: Okay. My guess then is a logic bug or bad data that is causing excessive looping. You'll likely need to add more logging in Scheduled::run() and Scheduler::HandleRecording() to find out which paths are being taken. If you can't do it, I can send you a patch later.
[19:12:13] stuarta: gigem: i can manage i think
