[00:06:03] gary_buhrmaster: jpabq: There is a mapping of SD "cast/crew" to XMLTV "credits" that I sort of "guessed" at near line 878. XMLTV does not quite provide the same fine grained characteristics that one might like.
[00:08:13] gary_buhrmaster: jpabq: Perhaps an XMLTV update is appropriate (my mapping is to ensure that the output is (likely) to get a success rating from tv_validate_grabber).
[00:09:56] gary_buhrmaster: jpabq: Now, I would certainly consider MythTV specific enhancements, but I will need some examples to try to figure out what could be done.

[00:16:22] gary_buhrmaster: jpabq: Re: artwork. That gets into an interesting question of "metadata". Right now (as I recall) MythTV does not parse even the minimal episode image url that is defined in the XMLTV definition, nor store it anywhere in the DB.
[00:16:58] gary_buhrmaster: jpabq: And that does not even deal with the much large set of artwork that may be available.
[00:20:20] gary_buhrmaster: jpabq: which will require the metadata collector to request that data from SD.
[00:23:25] gary_buhrmaster: jpabq: Of course, I have spent only a few minutes thinking about the actual implementation opportunities. Likely it is either much easier or much harder than my first thinking.

[13:13:44] blafu: Hi there, is anyone actively working on implementing sat-ip client functionality into mythtv?
[13:14:19] stuarta: dmfrey: there used to be "comment & close" as well as "comment", now there is only comment
[13:14:59] stuarta: blafu: dunno about actively, but we do have a ticket open. dekarl weren't you looking at that?
[13:15:28] stuarta: dmfrey: we have a slight complication in that our primary git repo is not github, so the merge must be done separately atm
[13:15:52] dmfrey: gotcha
[13:18:29] blafu: stuarta: got the ticket # for me? can't find something on trac with sat ip
[13:20:14] stuarta: https://forum.mythtv.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=226
[13:25:44] blafu: ok, so status is still that recording is possible using a m3u file (and http transport), discovery, channel scanning etc. is not implemented
[13:26:06] blafu: did you try out minisatip back then?
[13:26:27] stuarta: sounds about right, it's not a proper solution, sadly none of the devs have access to any hardware
[13:26:55] stuarta: no i didn't, it might be worth it to expose one of the tuners i do have via satip
[13:29:23] blafu: ok, i may be getting some hw that supports this and looking to implement these features in the summer, so i'm just checking here to avoid any double efforts
[13:29:38] stuarta: right now, any help would be welcome
[13:31:59] blafu: once the stream is tuned and received, mythtv should handle the data as if it was received using a local card, right?
[13:34:09] stuarta: with the minisatip stuff you mean?
[13:35:57] blafu: with any sat ip server, if a client receives the desired pids, it would not differ from the streams received by a normal dvb card, once it is demuxed (i think that is the term)?
[13:36:15] stuarta: in theory, it should be the same
[13:41:37] blafu: so the way to go would be to implement the recorder in libmythtv/recorders, deriving from DTVRecorder. and then implement discovery etc in the channelscan folder somewhere
[13:45:04] stuarta: either dtvrecorder or a lower level, depending on what you need
[13:51:35] blafu: very well, I'll have a look in a few weeks, have to finish something else first :
[13:51:38] blafu: :)

[14:36:54] dblain_: jpabq: I'm not working on the frontend. I disabled QtWebKit only for Qt 5.6 so I can compile with Visual Studio 2015. I don't know the code well enough to make to conversion to QtWebEngine. For now, it compiles enough of the code base so I can do Services Framework development in the backend.
[14:38:29] dblain_: Eventually we will need to do a complete port to Qt 5.6. Until then this is just a temp workaround.

[15:41:55] jpabq: dblain: can you change it so you only break that functionality under Visual Studio?

[16:41:40] jpabq: dblain: Honeslty, no. I am running Fedora — maybe the fedora people did the work?
[16:42:27] jpabq: dblain: I am looking into doing 'I'nfo using a non-editable version of mythuitextedit. That won't solve it for poeple using the /true/ web browser, though.
[16:42:58] dblain: ok, thanks. I don't have too much time again, but will try to find a good solution since I caused the problem for you.
[16:43:51] jpabq: dblain: All *I* care about is 'I'nfo. I don't use the plugins for youtube, or whatever. But, this is going to have to be fixed eventually.
[16:44:49] jpabq: dblain: I did come across http://download.qt.io/community_releases/5.6/5.6.0/
[16:45:10] jpabq: I am guessing the fedora packager did that.
[16:46:57] dblain: I saw that the source was available but unsupported. I didn't want to have to compile Qt from source. It's an option. I'll think it over.
[16:50:34] jpabq: dblain: If I can come up with a non web-solution for 'I'nfo, then I will be happy. A ticket should be created, though, for the WebKit to WebEngine migration.

[17:53:31] gary_buhrmaster: jpabq: re: qtwebengine and fedora. That turned into a special hell, as I recall, due to the fedora requirement for supporting machines that did not have SSE2, and qtwebengine needing ffmpeg and/or gstreamer (and ffmpeg cannot be in fedora).
[17:56:51] gary_buhrmaster: jpabq: I believe qtwebengine was finally packaged, and I presume it is in all the usual places (where 5.6.0 is).
[18:10:07] jpabq: gary_buhrmaster: it definititely seems to work, so they must have figured it out.
[18:20:13] cbovy: hi all, I'm trying to pickup on existing ticket (#12773) to solve backend segfault. Anyone able to confirm behavior with liveTV and FREEBOX recorder?
[18:20:13] ** MythLogBot http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/12773 **
[18:21:35] cbovy: first time start of LiveTV, it works as expected. After exit to mainmenu, and back to LiveTV, backend crashes. It seems that an existing instance is used or not cleared.
[18:22:05] cbovy: it only happens with LiveTV, not with recordings.
[18:23:48] dblain: jpabq: is CONFIG_QTWEBKIT defined in config.h for you?
