[05:50:45] dekarl: stuartm, I used a Power Search for "only the first few series/seaons", records unless its know to be one of the unwanted seasons... program.title='Charmed – Zauberhafte Hexen' and not program.season>3

[07:22:14] stuartm: yeah, I just really hate the concept of power search, messing with sql is all wrong from a UX perspective
[07:23:24] stuartm: where's the starting channel stored these days? Since installing my new DVB-T2 card and rescanning 'Watch TV' is trying to start on a non-existant channel and then the frontend crashes

[09:32:27] dekarl: stuartm, if someone comes up with a sound design that would be great. But no good design has crossed my mind in that area yet.
[09:36:20] dekarl: btw, I found a UPNP client that can, at least partly, access a master backend from a FireTV. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01CL8O72A/

[14:46:06] gigem: knowledgejunkie, stuartm: No, I haven't specifically thought about that. That's what custom rules are for. sphery (I think) has proposed a custom rule editor that doesn't, at least normally, let the user touch SQL. Instead it helps them build up a query clause by clause using the canned examples. It's one of those things we'd all like, but no one has the time to do.
[14:46:37] gigem: dizygoth: Thanks. I'll look into it, but probably not until this weekend.

[18:37:37] peterbennett: stuartm: I agree with your idea about "record everything since season X onwards", although I think originalairdate will work better. The season is not always in the listings data. I have a bunch of custom record rules with things like originalairdate > '2013-01–01'.
[18:41:54] dmfrey (dmfrey!~dmfrey@68.170.18.123) has joined #mythtv
[19:02:06] dekarl: peterbennett: that is with US Schedules Direct data?
[19:02:22] peterbennett: yes
[19:02:42] dekarl: ok, for the rest of the world its ENODATA ;)
[19:03:29] peterbennett: dekarl: Is that for the original air date?
[19:03:53] peterbennett: They don't supply it?
[19:04:33] dekarl: TMS goes out of their way to provide great data, there are not many sources of such quality
[19:04:52] jheizer: Ah that stinks. I've used that for filtering too. Really nice to have.
[19:05:15] jheizer: we're spoiled
[19:05:27] dekarl: the free data from Radio Times for UK/IE comes close. It only gets worse after that
[19:06:03] peterbennett: So does this mean other have good data for season? Schedules direct season data is not very good.
[19:07:07] dekarl: not really. some have no season at all. Or just season relative data, without hinting at which season it is. comes at all levels of "wtf!"
[19:07:44] dekarl: so jnylen and me augment our feeds with data from themoviedb/tvdb/etc as good as we can
[19:08:13] dekarl: I'm not sure what kazer and oztivo are doing for their data
[19:08:16] peterbennett: Can somebody tell me how to access the backend web server in 0.28? I tried http://localhost:6544 and all I get is "404 not found"
[19:08:48] dekarl: did you install the html files?
[19:09:13] dekarl: I vaguely remember a packaging issue where the were only installed for the frontend
[19:09:37] jheizer: 404 response means you are getting a response from the web server
[19:09:42] jheizer: so that much is working and right
[19:10:04] peterbennett: The SD data is really good 99% of the time with accurate episode titles and original air dates. It is really easy to catch up on an entire series that is in reruns and they all get put in the correct order if you sort on original air dates.
[19:10:12] dekarl: do you have backend_index.qsp around?
[19:10:46] jheizer: Anything under /usr/share/mythtv/html?
[19:12:13] peterbennett: I have deployed in a different directory and set the MYTHTVDIR to it
[19:12:41] peterbennett: I do have qsp files and a bunch of directories there
[19:12:57] peterbennett: Maybe the internal web server is not looking at the MYTHTVDIR
[19:15:18] peterbennett: /usr/share/mythtv/html is there and has the 0.27 versions
[19:15:48] dekarl: mythtv/programs/mythbackend/mediaserver.cpp:137: pHtmlServer = new HtmlServerExtension(m_sSharePath + "html", "backend_");
[19:21:33] dekarl: MYTHTVDIR==/usr ?
[19:21:53] dekarl: mythtv/libs/libmythbase/mythdirs.cpp hints that the answer should be yes
[19:22:17] peterbennett: MYTHTVDIR=/home/peter/proj/mythtv-build/myth-p28/usr
[19:22:49] dekarl: then its looking for the files at /home/peter/proj/mythtv-build/myth-p28/usr/share/mythtv/html
[19:23:23] peterbennett: They are there
[19:23:48] jnylen: peterbennett, You have no idea what bad data I get
[19:23:52] peterbennett: maybe I need to put /menu.qsp on my URL
[19:24:20] jnylen: Some provide absolute numbers, some provide translated subtitles, some provide season only
[19:24:22] jnylen: etc etc etc
[19:24:26] peterbennett: jnylen: Where is that ?
[19:25:30] peterbennett: http://192.168.0.188:6544/menu.qsp also gives 404 Not Found
[19:26:24] jnylen: peterbennett, http://xmltv.xmltv.se/
[19:26:35] jnylen: the finnish channels put the season/episode data in the description
[19:26:40] jnylen: in different variants
[19:27:14] jnylen: some uses Excel, Word, RTF, XML, Json etc
[19:29:03] peterbennett: dekarl: In /usr/share/mythtv/html/ I also do have qsp files and an index.html so I think it is not looking there either
[19:29:39] peterbennett: dekarl: Anyway, thanks for giving me the pointer to where it is done, I can try to find out what is going wrong here
