[01:24:19] gary_buhrmaster: knightr: The good news is we have good coverage of multiple platforms with the many builders. The bad news is that everyone gets informed over a dozen times about a bad commit (with the slow builders taking an hour or so to report).
[01:25:17] knightr: yeah
[01:25:43] knightr: I am pretty sure it's ok now but I don't have a clue as to how to resubmit it, never did it...
[01:25:48] gary_buhrmaster: knightr: All in all, I prefer the plethora of builders. We (and by "we" I mean the actual devs such as yourself that are doing the work) have managed to miss certain platform idiosyncratic failures in the past.
[01:26:31] knightr: the fix was so simple I wasn't expecting it to fail but I hadn't spotted the redundant comma...

[01:26:47] gary_buhrmaster: knightr: They will all rebuild at the new push. So real soon now you will get a lot of "success" messages.
[01:27:11] gary_buhrmaster: knightr: (sooner than soon, I guess).
[01:27:19] MythBuild: build #12 of 0.28-debian-testing-64bit is complete: Failure [4failed compile core] Build details are at http://code.mythtv.org/buildbot/builders/0.28 . . . it/builds/12 blamelist: Nicolas Riendeau <nriendeau@mythtv.org >
[01:27:52] knightr: I had noticed but then why do some of us manually resubmit it then?

[01:28:02] knightr: is that one slow or what...
[01:28:12] gary_buhrmaster: knightr: You can post a message to the channel to force a build if a particular builder is temporarily broken (since until the next push, the builder stays broken).
[01:28:13] MythBuild: build #11 of 0.28-ubuntu-lts-armhf is complete: Failure [4failed compile core] Build details are at http://code.mythtv.org/buildbot/builders/0.28 . . . hf/builds/11 blamelist: Nicolas Riendeau <nriendeau@mythtv.org >

[01:28:37] gary_buhrmaster: knightr: the arm builders tend to be the slowest.
[01:28:54] knightr: error 2?

[01:30:01] gary_buhrmaster: As of now (AFAIK) all the arm builders in the builder pool (that are running) are native on the appropriate platform. At least one RPi2, a BeagleBone Black.
[01:31:07] MythBuild: build #135 of master-archlinux-64bit is complete: Failure [4failed compile core] Build details are at http://code.mythtv.org/buildbot/builders/mast . . . t/builds/135 blamelist: Nicolas Riendeau <nriendeau@mythtv.org >

[01:31:09] gary_buhrmaster: The alternative is QEMU arm emulation, which is about as slow as the native platform, or a true cross compile, which is reasonably fast, but somewhat more complicated to setup/maintain (and AFAIK no one has placed on of those in the build pool).
[01:31:13] knightr: yikes, now I understand why it's so slow...

[01:33:53] gary_buhrmaster: A full (clean ccache) compile on a single processor limited memory arm system is around 12 hours. A "hot" ccache on a single processor limited memory system is a little over an hour.
[01:34:22] gary_buhrmaster: The new RPi2 can do a 3–4 process compile with a clean ccache in about 2 hours.

[01:35:31] gary_buhrmaster: As with all else, your particular compile time will vary.

[01:44:45] knightr: I had some fun with a small camera who sent me pictures when it saw "events"
[01:44:46] gary_buhrmaster: No, in (American) English what you said "Learn what your cameras caughtup" makes no sense.

[02:08:57] gary_buhrmaster: Clarity/Correctness of English (and the translations) is not really nitpicking, and even the "experts" get it wrong some of the time due to time constraints, or selective seeing (seeing what you think you want to see).
[02:09:19] knightr: as for the others "to" was written instead of "too", DiSEqC and unsupported were misspelled and for "Unknown" it was not said what was unknown...
[02:10:02] gary_buhrmaster: I do not make many contributions to the code(s), but when I do, I pretty much try to only deal with log messages (which are not translatable strings (I know, some people want them to be, different issue)).
[02:10:48] knightr: in English it's not a problem but in a language where there can be a gender for those adjectives it's a problem (in French "Unknown" can be "Inconnu" (Masculine form) or "Inconnue" (Feminine form) so we need to know what it is about..

The p
[15:35:22] letifosiferrari: roblem I am having is that the mythtv-backend script doesn't seem to get called at startup. I am guessing it has to do with systemd being used. I took a look at the MySQL init.d script and it does get called --through some kind of systemd wrapper it looks like (not sure about the wrapper thing). I am wondering if there is an additional step I need to do in order to have the mythtv-backend init.d script called through systemd?
[15:35:22] letifosiferrari: [Or is there a "native" systemd "script" that gets called? [This morning I just noticed that there is a mythtv-backend.service file in the packaging project on github]]

[15:40:41] stuarta: not quite sure it behaves with sysv services tho
[15:53:38] letifosiferrari: Thank you! I did not run the command you shared when I was trying to make it work so it definitely sounds like running it will unblock me :-) I will try this tonight (Pacific time) and see how it behaves (will share the results)!

[22:14:05] stuartm: knightr: https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/commit/b0d9b309 adds a new string but it's not translatable since it's the same in all languages (OpenGL 2)
[22:14:21] stuartm: Can I merge to 0.28?

[22:59:06] knightr: (-; (-; (-;
[23:00:08] knightr: if this is for what I think it is (Pi) than I am sure every translator won't mind and it was a bug to begin with not to expose it..
[23:00:11] knightr: (-; (-; (-;
[23:00:39] ** stuarta declares anything related to rpi support a bug, not a feature **
[23:00:49] knightr: ROTBL...
[23:02:53] knightr: anyway I have a few untranslatable strings to fix like very soon now so it's not like this will be the last string added at the last minute and like you said it's easy to "translate".
[23:03:02] knightr: (Ctrl-B, Ctrl-Enter)
[23:03:15] knightr: (copy the source string, confirm it)
