[08:42:11] dekarl: peper03: that may be something for you "libudfread\default_blockinput.c(139) : error C2065: 'O_RDONLY' : undeclared identifier" from the end of https://code.mythtv.org/buildbot/builders/mas . . . d/logs/stdio

[10:28:17] stuarta: Roklobsta: i'm pretty sure there is a script called myth_optimizedb.pl
[10:28:44] Roklobsta: i think that might be the one run from mythweb. it hasn't helped
[10:31:01] stuarta: back to your original questions, is the frontend reporting anything during this 30s period?
[10:31:13] stuarta: fyi, my database is about 9yrs old :)
[10:31:44] lapion (lapion!~axion@axion.xs4all.nl) has joined #mythtv

[10:35:43] Roklobsta: there is a lot of chatter from the drive though
[10:37:29] stuarta: if you think it's mysql, then try running the following mysql command at the time `show full processlist\G`
[10:38:00] stuarta: that'll give us an idea of the queries in progress at the time, and then we can move on to looking at how efficient they are if needed
[10:40:55] stuarta: and yes the '\G' is correct

[11:12:56] sphery: Roklobsta: Are you the one from the users list with the issue? It was really looking like a problem with a crashed recordedseek table. Although optimize_mythdb.pl (and the in-the-web-interfaces equivalents) attempt to repair crashed tables, they may not be able to. Some crashes are so bad (or have been left so long) that they can't be repaired automatically, so the "database administrator" needs to force a fix (usually when the fix will ...
[11:13:02] sphery: ... result in lost data), so you may need to run mysqlcheck manually with appropriate options to get things working.
[11:14:05] Roklobsta: sphery: i didn't complain on the list

[13:05:36] Jordack (Jordack!~Jordack@75-151-31-172-Michigan.hfc.comcastbusiness.net) has joined #mythtv
[13:12:15] stuarta: that would be nice
[13:12:52] stuarta: paul-h: btw. what's your thinking regarding the frontend 100% issue? ie. what's the current working theory?
[13:14:02] stuarta: i'm wondering if there's something we can do to provoke it
[13:20:30] paul-h: It appears as though the loop in the download thread here somehow runs away https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/blob/master/ . . . ger.cpp#L273
[13:22:06] paul-h: The two waits in there should prevent that though?
[13:22:30] stuarta: i was reviewing that the other day to see if staring at it long enough would help me see something
[13:23:20] stuarta: the QWaitCondition::wait() when passed no timeout should wait indefinitely
[13:24:14] stuarta: now i wasn't sure if when waitAnyway is true, we should be going into the indefinite wait part (L308–312)
[13:25:24] stuarta: what i was tempted todo, is move L300 (waitAnyway = false) down later in the loop and mod L303 to if (downloading || waitAnyway)
[13:25:55] stuarta: but i don't really see how that would help
[13:27:43] ** stuarta leaves 0.27 frontend running in debug mode to see if he sees it **
[13:33:44] stuarta: Roklobotomy: do you see the 100% frontend cpu issue ?
[13:47:46] paul-h: This looks like a good alternative to the HDHomeRun http://www.vboxcomm.com/uk-freeview-and-freesat.html
[13:50:22] paul-h: Looks like the T2 version of the HDHomeRun is well over a year overdue but was supposed to be launched at the end of last month
[13:56:11] stuarta: so my frontend is querying the backend for themes every minute, but the backend never needs to go out to themes.mythtv.org as it already has it
[13:59:04] paul-h: The BE updates it's list of themes every 24 hours IIRC
[14:01:38] paul-h: Needless to say Kodi already has support for the VBox
[14:03:44] paul-h: Trying to find the source code for it to see how difficult it would be to add support for the Vbox to Myth
[14:04:48] stuarta: alternatively some specs would help
[14:06:13] paul-h: They have and SDK but you have to sign up for it
[14:06:34] stuarta: i'm tryng to remember which vendor it was which was soliciting for devs to support it, may have been them
[14:07:13] paul-h: Yeah I think it was
[14:07:17] dekarl: roklobsta, the last entry from sph ery's link is what I am guessing, too. mysqltuner.pl will help you optimize the database so the tuning better matches your work load.
[14:31:36] stichnot: stuartm forwarded an email from vbox on Feb.16, and Chris Petersen last December, and gigem pointed out that it would be hard for devs in North America to do anything with it
[14:40:35] tgm4883 (tgm4883!uid23806@ubuntu/member/tgm4883) has joined #mythtv
[14:44:40] paul-h: stichnot: yeah I've found the email – tempted to ask for a free demo box :) They are quite expensive a twin DVB-T2 box is £130 + VAT but they sound a lot more sophisticated than the HDHomeRun and they have a T2 version already shipping
[14:45:42] peper03: dekarl: Thanks for that. I hadn't realised the win32 build was already broken. That would explain why I didn't see any buildbot errors.
[14:47:42] peper03: dblain: Any idea why the O_RDONLY (and similar) macros are not available with Visual C? According to the online documentation, Visual C has defined them with a leading underscore, but there seem to be plenty of other places in our code that use O_RDONLY without problems.
[14:49:23] peper03: dblain: I just compared the compiler command lines for files in libdvdnav (which uses O_RDONLY) and libbluray (which tries to and fails). The only difference I can see is the addition of '/TP /FI compat.h' when compiling libblurray.
[14:50:36] peper03: "/TP" tells the compiler to ignore the file extension and assume it's compiling a C++ file. Could that have anything to do with it?
[14:55:15] peper03: Seems like libhdhomerun is the only other part that defines /TP

[16:11:24] stichnot: peper03: I looked at the patch, but the only thing that really came to my attention was some odd choices in variable/field/function name capitalization and leading underscore, and spacing like "if (foo)" vs "if(foo)". But I didn't look at whether this was just fitting into surrounding code style.
[16:46:30] peper03: stichnot: Thanks for looking over it. I'll check for consistency again. It's certainly possible my fingers did their own thing here and there. I usually try to put matching the style of the file I'm editing above anything else, but it's quite possible my fingers were working on automatic at times :)
[16:47:55] paul-h: anyone seeing this when exiting the 'Watch Recording' screen – QObject::~QObject: Timers cannot be stopped from another thread
[16:47:58] stichnot: yeah, I know the feeling...
[16:50:21] stichnot: paul-h: I just grepped all my frontend logs for that, but no hits. I run with "-v playback".
