[14:26:15] stichnot: dekarl: it looks like the #12351 mythweb fix broke category colors for movie search results. It's most noticeable when I do an advanced search restricted to the movie program type, almost all the results get the same grey background.
[14:26:15] ** MythLogBot http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/12351 **
[14:26:51] stichnot: Except for a handful of results that strangely have the type "type_1" instead of "type_movie"
[14:27:55] stichnot: CSS is truly awesome ( http://www.zazzle.com/css+is+awesome+mugs ), but I have no idea how to fix this properly
[14:44:22] stuartm: stichnot: so do those entries lack the correct class, or the class is correct but they are still grey?
[14:48:15] stuartm: stichnot: could you pastebin the source of the page (right click > view source)? My production backend is down right now so I can't bring up mythweb myself
[14:52:19] stuartm: ok, it appears that the change made for 12351 is incorrect, while it was correct to add the type_ classes, the cat_movie class should still be there since type_ and cat_ refer to two different things
[14:53:43] stuartm: the category_class function in mythweb/includes/css.php sets the class to either type_movie or cat_movie depending on the context
[14:56:56] joki (joki!~joki@p5B36D3D2.dip0.t-ipconnect.de) has quit (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)
[14:59:57] stuartm: stichnot: change ".type_movie {" to ".cat_movie, .type_movie {" in those css files

[15:02:11] joki (joki!~joki@p5B36D60D.dip0.t-ipconnect.de) has joined #mythtv
[15:11:30] stichnot: stuartm: sorry, had to step out for a bit. Do you still need any pastebinnery?
[15:14:51] stichnot: stuartm: webfrontend is currently missing this particular mythweb use case: search for movies with star rating from 2.5 to 4, originally aired between 2011 and now, and only match non-recorded shows
[15:15:47] stuartm: yeah, I've not yet added the ability to combine multiple search conditions
[15:22:32] stuartm: stichnot: I don't need the html source, unless of course making the change I suggested fails to work
[15:23:57] stichnot: This line gives me the incorrect behavior, did I do it right?
[15:24:07] stichnot: .cat_movie, .type_movie { background-color: #809090 !important; }
[15:24:07] ** MythLogBot http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/809090 **
[15:25:46] stuartm: stichnot: that should work, but you might need to clear the browser cache first, with some browsers even that isn't enough and you need to clear the cache and restart the browser
[15:27:22] stichnot: well, I can switch back and forth between the two versions of programming.css and refresh the page and see instant change...
[15:29:42] stuartm: hmm, need to see the source then
[15:29:57] stuartm: could be expecting cat_Movie or something instead
[15:31:19] stichnot: http://pastebin.com/f91GJy0X with my host redacted to be safe
[15:32:01] stichnot: wish I were more css-capable... wait, maybe not :)
[15:32:54] stuartm: hmm, ok so the issue isn't what I expected, each entry has "type_movie cat_Action" (where the actual category varies)
[15:33:48] stichnot: I should mention that all of them render in grey except 3: Brave, Dolphin Tale 2, and Muppets Most Wanted
[15:34:04] stuartm: ok, so what was your expected behaviour, that the colour reflects the genre more than the type?
[15:34:12] stichnot: which say type_1 instead of type_movie
[15:34:18] stuartm: remove the !important
[15:34:20] stichnot: yes
[15:34:23] stuartm: for starters
[15:35:29] stuartm: that forces the background to grey, overriding any other category colours
[15:35:30] stichnot: removing !important appears to have no effect in either case (the "working" and "non-working" cases)
[15:36:19] stuartm: as much as I dislike doing it, the simplest solution then becomes adding !important to all the cat_ definitions
[15:36:35] stichnot: In any of the other mythweb pages, I don't recall ever seeing a color distinction based on type. It's always genre and I think that makes the most sense.
[15:36:44] stuartm: e.g. ".cat_Action { background-color: #906020 !important; }"
[15:36:44] ** MythLogBot http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/906020 **
[15:37:11] stuartm: stichnot: I agree, in mythfrontend category sets the colour, type is represented by an icon
[15:37:21] stichnot: ok. What's the normal tie-breaker? order in the file? hash table order?
[15:37:22] stuartm: err, s/mythfrontend/webfrontend/
[15:38:20] stuartm: stichnot: for two different 'selectors' of the same type, in this case 'class' it's order they are loaded
[15:40:35] stichnot: I tried moving ".type_movie { background-color: #809090; }" to a point before all the .cat_* entries and got the desired behavior
[15:40:45] stuartm: there are three basic selector types with an increasing specifity in the following order – element – rules which affect all elements e.g. <a>, class – affecting all elements with class="{name}", and id – id="{name}"
[15:40:50] stichnot: added !important and got the icky behavior
[15:41:32] stuartm: !important is a nasty hack most of the time since it overrides the normal precedence of rules
[15:42:03] stuartm: contrary to expectations, it doesn't mean "not important", but "very important"
[15:43:53] stichnot: then it should have been "important!". Or "important!!1!"
[15:43:57] stuartm: A { ...something... }, .class_name and #id_name are how the aforementioned element, class and id selectors are represented in css rules, so class names are prefixed with a full-stop (period), ids with a hash (#)
[15:45:51] stichnot: so this patch seems to bring out proper colors everywhere I can find. http://pastebin.com/QcSAbcRx
[15:46:14] stichnot: is it correct? worthy of committing?

[15:54:34] dizygoth: stuartm: Just noticed that undeleting a recording from the Deleted recording group crashes the FE.

[17:05:34] dekarl: stichnot: oh my... so mythweb uses different prefixes for the program_type depending on code path?
[17:07:03] calypsoscomforts: If my client does such a request on an as yet unfinished recording, it only ever downloads as much as is present at the time of the request. I think that's because there's a Content-length in the response. I'm trying to do chase play, so actually by the time the player gets to the end of the content and quits, the rest of the program has been recorded.
[17:07:31] amessina (amessina!~amessina@unaffiliated/amessina) has joined #mythtv
[17:08:14] dekarl: or was that a ".cat_Movie is missing from the categories"?

[17:10:50] dekarl: I see you two are further down the CSS rabbit hole then I ever was :)
[17:12:43] calypsoscomforts: Do you think the workaround is to hack GET /Content/GetRecording to not send a content length when asked to provide an unfinished recording, or is there a better method of doing chase play through the service API?
[17:15:42] dekarl: calypsoscomforts: that sounds like a bug. but i'm not seeing a ticked in the service api/upnp components
[17:16:35] calypsoscomforts: dekarl: I have a couple of wireshark text captures of the request, should I paste them?
[17:18:26] dekarl: calypsoscomforts: I think its better to collect all information in a ticket

[17:41:25] stuartm: it does sound like a bug, or more accurately the correct behaviour for the in-progress recording scenario hasn't yet been implemented
[17:42:58] stuartm: there's a TODO in the code specifically covering that feature
[17:43:56] stuartm: should be easier to implement in 0.28 than 0.27 because of changes I've made recently
[17:45:16] stuartm: in 0.27 and earlier versions the Content-Length header is exclusively set in the http server, it's given a file and determines it's length, it has no way of knowing that the file size is still growing

[17:52:47] stuartm: calypsoscomforts: please, it's something I'd like to get fixed for 0.28 since it affects both UPnP and the WebFrontend which are the two features I've been working on recently
