[16:26:34] tgm4883: hmm, where is stuarta
[16:27:12] tgm4883: Does the build server build all of MythTV (including plugins)?
[16:27:54] tgm4883: We're having i386 builds fail because it can't find a new enough version of qmake
[16:28:06] tgm4883: We think the issue is here https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/blob/master/ . . . nfigure#L572
[16:28:23] tgm4883: Which probably just needs this fix applied to plugins as well https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/commit/87823 . . . bac447861301
[16:29:02] jheizer: I'm pretty sure they do. Details on a build: https://code.mythtv.org/buildbot/builders/mas . . . it/builds/20
[16:30:18] superm1: yeah it looks like they do, but this failure will only fail on i386
[16:30:28] tgm4883: jheizer: ah, no i386 ubuntu builder
[16:30:49] jheizer: there is a 32bit jessie builder
[16:31:44] jheizer: but yeah, not ubuntu 32bit anything
[16:32:02] tgm4883: jheizer: does that above patch need to make it's way to plugins too then?
[16:32:17] superm1: it's not happening on jessie since jessie isn't building qt5 though
[16:32:22] superm1: it's being built with qt4 https://code.mythtv.org/buildbot/builders/mas . . . s/logs/stdio
[16:32:31] jheizer: ahh
[16:32:47] jheizer: tgm4883, got me, I just happen to host that build slave.
[16:33:01] superm1: that patch looks pretty obviously correct to me and just needs to be carried over to mythplugins ./configure
[16:36:21] stuartm: tgm4883: stuarta is away

[17:03:44] stichnot: jheizer: just saw your vip211 channel changer yesterday. AWESOME. just AWESOME!
[17:04:30] stichnot: too bad Schedules Direct isn't in total agreement with the vip211 about what the channels are
[17:04:42] jheizer: I made something made on this machine about 2 weeks ago. Locks and eventually will BSOD is left alone long enough.
[17:05:18] jheizer: stichnot, it is GOLD.
[17:05:53] jheizer: I was always afraid to even reboot my backend because then I'd have to come downstairs and test my lirc blasters to see if they were all still working, etc
[17:06:23] jheizer: I don't have any channel issues, but I recently switched to a pretty low package.
[17:06:46] stichnot: For me, I was afraid to lift up the vip211 to look for its mac address for fear of bumping the precariously taped blaster eye
[17:07:07] jheizer: hahahah
[17:07:17] jheizer: I completely understand
[17:07:34] stichnot: and god forbid the blaster should break and I would have to find a "new" one
[17:07:45] jheizer: I played that game about 2 weeks before I found this
[17:08:03] jheizer: I was cuting up the new one and soldering it on the wires for the old one
[17:08:20] jheizer: and was like hmm, I wonder if that jack does anything now a days
[17:09:01] jheizer: So after neglecting to fix it for 2 months, I never really needed it.
[17:10:15] stichnot: too bad about the high HD channel number issue, who knows how badly I've screwed up my channels table now
[17:10:48] jheizer: I try to manage my channel list via schedules direct only
[17:11:25] jheizer: not sure if that is the best way, but over the years seems like it, except when they suddenly add more to my line ups (had about 5 PPV porn channels 2 weeks ago appear in myth)
[17:12:17] stichnot: yeah, noticed those too
[17:12:52] jheizer: what I really want to do is write an app to read in the STB list from and auto update myth. But it'd take me liek 2 hours in .Net and no one would want to use it so not worth the effort.
[17:14:24] stichnot: I found I had a ton of duplicate channel pairs where one was marked visible and the other not visible... no idea how that happened
[17:18:59] jheizer: FWIW I've been using it with 2 HD-PVR since about 2 weeks before the first post I made to -users, and I've only had one recording fail. Not sure why as I accidentally deleted it out of habit without investigating.

[20:47:02] tgm4883: stuartm: kicking off a new build now, we'll see what happens in a few hours
[20:48:29] peper03: I did have a call in there to disable the 'Start frontend' button but it seems like there may be a UI bug somewhere. It stayed grey after enabling. It worked, just stayed grey.
[20:48:46] stuartm: peper03: there ought to be an asynchronous invocation of mythsystem which might be more suitable, but I don't actually know if that is the case
[20:50:22] stuartm: if a disabled button continues to work then that would indeed be a regrettable bug
[20:51:06] stuartm: tgm4883: the build is queued? If the problem is in configure I'd expect it to fail quickly

[20:52:34] tgm4883: stuartm: I just pushed it to the PPA. source packages were building fine, but binary i386 was failing. I don't have a setup here to test that currently

[21:41:16] tgm4883: markus___: ok, here's the deal. I'm at work and doing other things. Based on the time frequency of your last set of messages, I don't have the patience to assist someone who will willy nilly just run commands without knowing what they are doing
[21:41:29] tgm4883: markus___: for support, you should be in #mythtv-users anyway
[21:41:36] tgm4883: as this is the dev channel
[21:49:33] markus___: as an experienced user I can say that this DVB implementation needs a lot more work to be usable (no offence)
[21:50:23] markus___: the channel names show up but EPG doesn't .. issue number one, I don't want to set up EPG separately like 99.99% of all normal endusers
[21:50:39] markus___: EPG comes with the tv stream so everything's there it's just a weirdo setup.
[21:51:15] markus___: the record scheduling seems to rely on this if I press "r" it says recording "unknown" on top when I press s (for showing up the EPG list) it says not recording
[21:52:31] markus___: and there somehow it's possible to lock up the channel list to the current mux, seems like the hidden "unknown" recording cannot be cancelled
[21:52:52] tgm4883: markus___: To be fair, it's highly likely that 75% of users don't use EPG to get guide data
[21:53:02] tgm4883: markus___: and I take no offense, I'm a Mythbuntu dev
[21:53:07] markus___: I promise you you're wrong with that
[21:53:43] tgm4883: markus___: EPG data in the US is terrible, that is why we have schedules direct
[21:53:56] markus___: in US possibly but in Europe where many countries have a 2 weeks forecast EPG will be used
[21:54:09] markus___: I know that US EPG only carries around 1–2 days
[21:54:33] markus___: US is far behind DVB with ATSC 2.0
[21:54:41] markus___: I'm sure that will change with ATSC 3.0
[21:55:12] tgm4883: markus___: I have data to back up my statements, do you?
[21:55:36] markus___: I'm from the STB area so yes I know what I'm writing about
[21:56:09] tgm4883: markus___: 44.6% of users use schedules direct. 32.4% use EIT only, the reste use various XML grabbers
[21:56:24] tgm4883: markus___: "I'm from the STB area" isn't data
[21:56:37] tgm4883: well, it's not very good data. I suppose it's technically data
[21:56:42] markus___: with mythtv possibly but mythtv has no big userbase
[21:56:58] markus___: opposed with STBs which are out there in millions
[21:57:10] tgm4883: STB's like cable boxes?
[21:57:16] markus___: yes
[21:57:25] tgm4883: those aren't using the same set of data
[21:58:07] markus___: in US maybe :-)
[21:58:12] tgm4883: in any case, we're in the #mythtv channel talking about your EPG and DVB implementations. Limiting that to mythtv users would be fine
[22:02:08] dekarl: markus___: which DVB provider is that? Astra? Unitymedia/KabelBW? KabelDeutschland?
[22:03:08] dekarl: Unitymedia pushes a separate EPG feed to their Horizon boxes instead of using the DVB-EIT data. Don't know about the others
[22:04:04] dekarl: Filling the EPG via the EIT scan when at least one recorder is idle worked well over here when I last worked on it.
[22:04:37] dekarl: But I think everyone who has set up a DVB system agrees that the experience is sub-par
[22:07:24] markspieth: I have a wiki page up for the android port. Is it ok to link the main page to it under the appropriate section or should I wait?
[22:07:26] dekarl: stuarta, if you read the logs. irc.mythtv.org redirects http->https but doesn't appear to have /ircLog/ configured in the right way
[22:09:49] dekarl: markspieth: like "Other Platforms * MythTV on Android"? I'd hook it up once there is an APK for people to download.
[22:10:03] markus___: does anyone know where timed out X possible channels come from? which file I have to look at?
[22:10:22] markus___: dekarl: something similar to KDG/Kabeldeutschland ... primacom
[22:11:06] markus___: interestingly after the scan it shows up all the channel names?!
[22:11:34] dekarl: We parse them from the SDT, but have to spider all transports to collect the EIT
[22:12:44] markus___: but the channel names do not show up in the menu when changing a channel
[22:13:03] markus___: this is another half baked thing
[22:14:37] dekarl: You may want to verify the ONID/TSID/SID of RTL channels, see https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/blob/master/ . . . ithelper.cpp for "kFixRTL". If you can collect the IDs we can enable the fixups for there channels.
[22:15:15] dekarl: markus___: Can you actually watch LiveTV (aka video/audio works)
[22:15:27] markus___: yes
[22:17:15] dekarl: Do you get guide data for the currently running program?
[22:17:24] markus___: nope
[22:17:35] markus___: not even the channel name is showing up there .. only "Unknown"
[22:17:54] markus___: but in the EPG window itself it shows up the channel names on the left side
[22:18:02] dekarl: That is not so good. Can you edit the channel and set "use on-air guide"?
[22:18:17] markspieth: dekarl: There is one which works with master backends. You just need to install it the manual way.
[22:18:18] dekarl: Some providers flag their channels as "no EPG" but do provide the data
[22:19:21] dekarl: markspieth: a nice. Fire TV stick is scheduled for arrival tomorrow, might be a good test. (Though I guess the remote will not be functional at this early stage)
[22:21:06] markus___: that is already set up
[22:21:23] markspieth: Interesting. The apk is tailored for my S4 and I havent tested on anything else yet.
[22:21:47] markspieth: Remote would be lirc on android I guess?!?
[22:21:56] dekarl: markspieth: after missing the Fire TV box I couldn't let the stick pass for 19 Bucks.
[22:22:01] markspieth: Currently tailored for touch screen use
[22:22:19] dekarl: markspieth: I guess its special multimedia keys or similar
[22:22:54] markspieth: As for EPG, we use shepherd which scrapes a number of sites then reconciles all the data. Provides better epg than DVB gives us.
[22:23:33] dekarl: markspieth: http://developer.android.com/reference/androi . . . Session.html
[22:23:50] dekarl: markspieth: that's true for Australia :)
[22:24:19] dekarl: I hate that Shephard is being reimplemented for Finland because not-invented-here (or whatever)...
[22:24:37] Roklobsta (Roklobsta!~Roklobsta@ppp118-209-98-205.lns20.mel4.internode.on.net) has quit (Quit: KVIrc 4.2.0 Equilibrium http://www.kvirc.net/)
[22:27:24] ** dekarl needs to push contrib scripts to github more... lost the mythtv-dvb-configuration-debugger and record-based-on-themovidb-watch-list to a disk crash :( **
[22:27:53] markspieth: dekarl: only for lollipop and above, but there are ways. First have to make playback a bit smoother.
[22:29:53] dekarl: markus___: Can you pastebin the output of dvbsnoop from the SDT of that channel somewhere? And an EIT section? I can take a look at it tomorrow and check if I see something strange.
[22:36:27] dekarl: markspieth: "Fire OS 3 is forked from Android 4.2.2" is what is on Fire TV according to wikipedia. The latest and greated if "said to be based on Android 4.4.3". So no Lollipop. But there's always http://developer.android.com/reference/androi . . . onentName%29
[22:45:27] dekarl: markspieth: not finding information on the NDK, only for the regular Java SDK https://developer.amazon.com/public/solutions . . . remote-input
