[10:21:32] warpme: I decided to upgrade my production system from 0.27 to current master. Upgrade went OK. To my surprice I see changed theme mainmenu. I'm using MythMediaStream. With 0.27 I had entries in mainmenu filling all vertical area of screen (1 central current entry with 2 on upper and 2 on lower part of screen). Current master gives me only 3 visible entries. It pretends like list widget has smaller vwertical area. Was there any changes in current mas
[11:11:53] stuartm: warpme: it was some time back but I think there was a fix to the layout calculation for some buttonlist configurations
[11:20:23] warpme: Yeah. I remember but forgot to note commit hash. Was that an fix – so definitelly I have to fix theme?

[11:41:07] warpme: stuartm: I think issue might be related to scaling theme as MythMediaStream is for 1280x720 while my TV is working with 1920x1080. Looking on widgetborders they looks 'strange' for me. I'll try to switch Xmode to 1280x720 and see. Now i have to run for 1h away...

[13:08:05] warpme: stuartm: Changing GUI res to native theme res. solves issue – so I think issue is with theme scalling.
[13:18:04] stuartm: warpme: there are known, but unfixable issues there, unless the resolution steps are precise multiples there will be fractions of pixels which get discarded
[13:18:57] stuartm: that's why we recommended that there is always some margin left between the widget area it's children i.e. the buttons in a buttonlist
[13:22:20] warpme: stuartm: for me this looks like regression. I have this issue only on current master and on 2 themes tested (official MythMediaStream and my fork based on 2y ago MythMediaStream). All was OK on master 1..2 months ago – only recent issue pops-up. Also only mainmeny seems be broken as so far rest of screens are OK.
[13:23:24] warpme: I had idea to bisect – but protocol/DB changes making bisec more difficult. Is there commndline/env variable to disable FE for cheking DB/proto?

[19:56:13] cybrNaut: anyone see the need to install Google Chrome?
[19:57:52] cybrNaut: fuck me.. 184 MB.. what a staggering waste
[19:59:14] cybrNaut: sloppy.. but fuck it, i don't have the patience
[20:02:24] stuartm: cybrNaut: no idea
[20:03:16] stuartm: cybrNaut: I'd just follow the official docs, or at the very least the official wiki
[20:04:10] cybrNaut: stuartm: normally a distro-version specific install would be ideal, but perhaps you have the right idea.. this guide is dodgy
[20:04:38] cybrNaut: google chrome is not properly signed either..
[20:04:57] cybrNaut: this command does not get the right signing key => wget -q -O – https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -
[20:06:08] stuartm: paul-h: just rgb values, the 'named' values supported by QColor are the old 'websafe' colours, a limited number of colours chosen purely for their ability to be represented properly on 256 colour displays – I didn't think it was worth supporting that
[20:08:41] stuartm: rgb values provide 32 million colours, endless shades of every colour, names have only be assigned to 148 colours – a drop in the ocean
[20:09:05] stuartm: or the lightseagreen
[20:10:19] stuartm: cybrNaut: there are instructions specific to Debian on our wiki, and even in the official guide if I remember correctly
[20:10:51] stuartm: and there are packages available from somewhere too if you want to go the easy route
[20:13:11] cybrNaut: stuartm: I found http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Packages which for debian points to http://www.deb-multimedia.org/ so i'll try this approach
[20:13:32] cybrNaut: it's probably more sensible than 184 MB of google junk
[20:14:57] dekarl: cybrNaut: just use the deb packaging from our packaging repo...
[20:15:21] dekarl: it should work, even though its not 100% pristine debian style, so not fit for uploading to the debian repo, yet
[20:16:59] cybrNaut: dekarl: by "our packaging repo", do you mean deb-multimedia.org?
[20:17:38] dekarl: https://github.com/MythTV/packaging/tree/master/deb
[20:17:58] stuartm: not exactly what I had in mind when I talked about keeping it simple
[20:18:49] dekarl: oh, I thought its the dev channel, so might suggest that way so its get some exposure ;)
[20:34:31] paul-h: stuartm: OK that is all the default shipped themes checked for errors the only outstanding failures are in default – categories.xml and the menu_*.xml files – which we don't seem to support in the xsd
[20:41:22] stuartm: the xsd only covers the UI theme files, we may add an xsd for the menu definitions later
[20:42:46] stuartm: I want to phase out categories.xml in future anyway, it can be handled better and few themers are going to both re-mapping colours for every single language
[20:51:08] paul-h: jpabq: You'll be glad to know Steppes passes the theme validation apart from a stray character here :- https://github.com/MythTV-Themes/Steppes/blob . . . -ui.xml#L124
[21:18:13] stuartm: paul-h: do you have something using QXmlSchemaValidator up and running already, or are you using xmllint?
[21:27:10] paul-h: I have something using QXmlSchemaValidator that highlights the first error in a text edit widget but it pulls the xsd from the server so for the moment I've been using xmllink to test
[21:38:50] stuartm: I'll update the copy on the server, it's not been done for a while
[21:39:25] dym: odd – it seems as if mythtv has double recognized my tuners... http://drop.openroot.de/13wFg/1rtsyKtT
[21:40:03] dym: and also the current running recording seems to be doubled. http://drop.openroot.de/17F74/4ahd05BR will this b0rk the recording?
[21:44:45] stuartm: perhaps better to wait until you've committed the changes to the xsd paul-h :)

[21:53:06] dym: mhh, the recording still shows: "1 Min.B" as duration
[21:53:08] stuartm: paul-h: no problem, just hadn't noticed that it wasn't updated in the repo until I went to copy it to the server
