From the patch/hack posted, it seems that the workaround is to never set state to kState_WatchingRecording (and just use kState_WatchingPreRecorded , instead). I don't know what all that entails, but I'd guess one part is disabling seek table (and/or commercial skip list) updates, which means it could still be DB performance issues (possibly due to InnoDB tables and ...

[21:28:56] peper03: jya: The 'upstream' in question is libdvdnav. Seems they use 'WORDS_BIGENDIAN' whereas as the rest of our codebase uses 'HAVE_BIGENDIAN'. I guess the only way to satisfy both would be to define both (or make changes to the source code).
[21:29:28] dblain: If everyone feels access to the serializer is needed in the server side script, I would focus on exposing our serializer instead of creating a new solution.
