[17:23:59] | stuartm: | so imagine my surprise to discover that Chrome is apparently actively requesting preview images – they aren't on the guide page, it's apparently spidering the backend webserver in the background |

[17:29:30] | stuartm: | don't think I'll be using Chrome once I've finished testing the webfrontend, a browser that's produced by Google and which silently spiders a local webserver is just too creepy (what's it doing with that information?) |

[17:44:20] | natanojl: | stuartm: I don't think itis Chrome. It seems to be happening every 37 second or so with Firefox as well |
[17:46:36] | stuartm: | weird, can't reproduce it with opera here |
[17:48:18] | stuartm: | wonder if it's actually some javascript somewhere that's background loading previews for the 'Overview' page – it shouldn't be, as all those images are already loaded but if the script is broken it might be continually retrying |
[17:49:20] | natanojl: | I think it is the galleria stuff |
[17:54:52] | gigem: | peper03: Okay. It looks like that code expects to be called once a second, which isn't going to happen. Could you try commenting out the "else if (itime % 10 == 0)" line. If that's not sufficient, I can force a shorter sleep time when the shutdown feature is enabled. |
[17:59:32] | peper03: | gigem: I don't think commenting out that line is going to help. I have idle time before shutdown set to 300 seconds, so the call to reschedWait.wait with 299,999 ms means it will sleep there for the whole 300 seconds and won't get to the 'itime % 10' line until it's going to shut down anyway. |
[18:02:01] | stuartm: | natanojl: seems likely – guess I owe Chromium an apology, too ready to believe that it's spyware ;) |

[20:59:04] | stuartm: | stuarta: I was thinking about how we might automatically populate some channel groups from information present in the SDT, based purely on the DVB spec, there are various bits of information we can leverage |
[21:00:02] | stuartm: | the service descriptor contains information about whether a channel is SD or HD, so an HD channel group is possible, it also indicates audio-only radio channels, so that's a Radio group |
[21:01:34] | stuartm: | the content descriptor is great (assuming it's actually present in the UK), that breaks it down to Movie/Drama/Current Affairs/Game Show/Sports etc |
[21:03:26] | stuartm: | I reckon we should be able to automatically populate some pre-defined channel groupings relatively easily – at least in those territories where these descriptors are included in the SDT, any interest in working with me on this? |
[21:04:46] | stuartm: | there's even an adult content descriptor – if that's accurately signalled, we can automatically stick adult channels in a password protected channel group |
[21:09:29] | stuartm: | jpabq: I think you originally conceived of the channel group stuff? Any philosophical objections to pre-populating a few channel groups? We'd of course allow users to delete and edit these groups, but it would introduce the concept to new and existing users alike, while saving some work in manually setting them up |
[21:12:22] | stuartm: | damn, mis-read the table, content_descriptor is EIT and SIT only |

[22:13:18] | buu: | peper03: poke |
[22:13:33] | buu: | .lastlog -clear |
[22:14:49] | jpabq: | stuartm: All I did was add the keybinding so you could switch between "recording groups" without having to bring up a menu. The actual concept of channel groups, recording groups, etc., was already there. As far as I am conserned you can do whatever you want with the channel group stuff. |
[22:30:02] | peper03: | buu: 'git apply' is the usual way. In worst case, it's only a couple of lines, so if all else fails, you could add them by hand. |
[22:30:23] | buu: | peper03: copy that pastebin into a file; git apply file; ? |
[22:30:33] | buu: | Also I already manually did it but just for the future record |

[22:30:39] | buu: | Ok, cool. |
[22:32:03] | buu: | peper03: Ok, why isn't --logpath writing a log file? |
[22:32:21] | buu: | mythfrontend -v playback --loglevel=debug --logpath tmp |
[22:32:38] | buu: | tmp is a directory in the cwd |
[22:33:12] | peper03: | buu: The patch won't fix anything, but will hopefully give me an idea of where it's going wrong. If you can provide the excerpt of VTS_06_00.VOB, that would probably help even more. |
[22:33:31] | buu: | peper03: Oh sure, I can do that, I'm just trying to get the log file |
[22:33:39] | buu: | But its not producing any files |

[22:34:14] | peper03: | When i'm testing, I don't bother with logpath. Doesn't make it wrong, just a different way. |
[22:35:03] | buu: | peper03: How do you get a log file then? |
