[09:18:11] | paul-h: | I found a test clip that tests the dynamic range and only the full scale test shows the problem anything below full scale seemed fine |

[09:29:30] | jya|2: | it could be that 0.27 is only revealing an issue now, before mp3 would be decoded as S16, now it's decoding as float... maybe the data isn't normalized... |

[09:36:01] | jya|2: | in ffmpeg 1.2, it's float that comes out |
[09:36:30] | jya|2: | i assume the audio is normalized... when converted back to S16, everything outside the -1,1 range is clipped |

[21:34:53] | shoop_da_whoop: | I know that the stream is recorded to disk then played back, but I need to know two things: how to initiate the "live stream", and how to locate the file that is produced. |
[22:01:11] | shoop_da_whoop: | Okay. I've figured out to use mythprotocol's SPAWN_LIVETV. Can someone please explain chains? |
[22:02:26] | stichnot: | shoop_da_whoop: to answer your first question, the LiveTVChain represents all the programs and program segments that are recorded during a Live TV session. It allows the player to skip past the beginning or end of one program into another program (as though it were one long continuous program). There may be more than one LiveTVChain instance in flight, as you can have multiple frontends... |
[22:02:27] | stichnot: | ...watching Live TV, and maybe you can even have multiple sessions on one frontend via PiP windows. |
[22:23:25] | stichnot: | You probably know this, but you can grab the chanid/starttime from the livetvchain entry and use it to get to the actual file. |
[22:23:58] | wolfgang (wolfgang!~wolfgang@tmo-107-91.customers.d1-online.com) has quit (Ping timeout: 276 seconds) | |
[22:24:49] | stichnot: | One thing to be careful of, is that the auto-expirer on the backend may expire short programs within a couple minutes. You need to monitor for livetvchain updates to catch deletes (and inserts of new entries as well). |
