[00:07:09] knightr: dekarl, best thing to do might be to post on the -developers mailing list and explain why you need it, theorically I think we're still something in between bug fixes only or approved exceptions but to get them approved you must post on the -developers mailing list...
[00:08:16] knightr: jpabq, disregard, I found the reason of my problem... Thanks anyway!

[00:10:47] ** MythLogBot http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/11588 **

[00:13:05] knightr: thanks!
[00:15:28] knightr: if you need more info, let me know (schema version, MySQL version, etc..) I'll gatherthem (and revert to them if needed to test) if needed...

I think it's best you do all the steps, it would cause more problems than it would solve if the job was split... Once again thank you!
[02:42:12] jya: wagnerrp: does broadcasting actually works with the UDP listener?
[02:42:32] jya: I can never send a notification or message to all frotnends at once. nothing happens when I do
[02:42:39] wagnerrp: sort of
[02:42:48] wagnerrp: you have to manually specify the broadcast address if you want it to work
[02:42:58] jya: always have to specify the IP address
[02:43:06] wagnerrp: it defaults to 255.255.255.255
[02:43:25] wagnerrp: there's no logic in there to correctly determine the broadcast address of the current subnet
[02:43:40] knightr: wagnerrp, sorry, I was afk, I just came back from my bike ride, I'll test it in a few minutes... I though that inner select was a little weird but thought it was some of MySQL specific quirk (I'm more used to Oracle thank MySQL...) Thank you!

[07:16:12] jya: can't you set up a recorder?
[07:16:29] jya: for my development machine, I set up a HLS recorder..
[07:16:41] jya: very easy to install, and no requirement on any external hardware
[07:17:02] jya: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/User_Manual:Settin . . . ing_Recorder
[07:19:45] dblain: jya: yes, i can setup a recorder, but I'm looking into a web setup which requires mythbackend running with no settings/db/recorders/etc.
[07:20:17] dblain: the recorder part looked like the simplest to start with
[07:20:21] jya: well, make the requirements so the backend runs :)
[07:24:18] dblain: What I'd like is, first time users would start mythbackend. They would then point a web browser at it and it would walk them through the basics. The backend would need be be dynamic enough to bootstrap changes as they are made.
[07:24:50] dblain: if I'm off base, the let me know now so I don't go down the wrong path
[07:25:02] jya: dblain: we've all had this thought at some stage, and this has been scheduled as new feature for years unfortunately… sooner it gets done, the better
[07:26:00] dblain: agreed. figured I'd try while I have some free time.
[07:26:19] jya: oh, was just testing the :6544 interface, there's a "send message" UI
[07:26:32] jya: where is that done? will add Send Notification code
[07:26:52] dblain: html directory I believe
[07:27:29] dblain: Not sure how they added it... it could be ajax or server side script based. Never looked close enought at it.

[17:21:30] dblain: no. My understaning was that most of the QT5 changes were already in master.

[17:35:41] dekarl (dekarl!~dekarl@p4FE84381.dip0.t-ipconnect.de) has joined #mythtv
[17:42:39] dblain: I haven't put a long term fix in yet. I simply removed the tr() from the strings. It compiles fine with them, the problem is at runtime.
[17:43:07] dblain: I'm surprised linux doesn't have the same problem. The tr function is being used before Qt is initialized.
[17:43:23] dblain: since it's being used in the intialization of a static array.
[17:44:21] dblain: knightr: ^^^
[17:55:23] knightr: marking them with QT_TR_NOOP and QT_TRANSLATE_NOOP and doing the tr() call when ractually using the content of the array might work. It would mean doing the tr() calls multiple times instead of once.. I would have to check to know for sure though...

[19:07:12] Captain_Murdoch: stichnot, 'd2' commercial flagger is the 'experimental' flagger where someone came in and thought they could do better, then dropped off the radar when things got too complicated. it's another reason I'm leary anytime there's a new mailing list thread tossing out ideas and discussing how easy people think flagging is. [19:49:24] Captain_Murdoch: jpabq, it actually does blank frame, not black frame detection. and it's got a bit of fuzzy logic as to what's blank. I used to just use a range check, but I think it was rewritten by the guy who did the experimental flagger. (Robert Tsai) not sure if the new method is as optimal, but it looks much more complex than what I recall writing. :)
[19:51:41] jpabq: Captain_Murdoch: with analog sources, I can understand needing a fuzzy definition. For digital sources, looking for a black frame would probably work better.... If I ever have a free moment, I will see if I can figure out that code enough to give that a try.
