[19:26:50] markk: jya: something I've been meaning to ask for ages – ToggleUpmixer... is there a simple way to check whether audio is currently upmixing and whether upmixing is 'available' (i.e. if you asked for upmixing, it should actually do something). I'd like to refine the Upmixer item in the osd menu.
[19:27:42] markk: and make it context sensitive. so don't show it if it is irrelevant – and show "Disable upmixer" or "Enable upmixer" rather than toggle.

For me, that would mean having one output that directed to hdmi and the other to headphones (or bluetooth) – so I could switch between the 2 at will. (not suggesting 2 audio outputs at once)

[19:32:06] markk: iamlindoro: before I go any further with the frontend services stuff, is it worth stepping back and making sure the current api is 'fit for purpose' – and won't need changing in the future. I'm happy tinkering now, before we release, but don't really want to alter it further down the road – only extend it.

[22:59:10] jya: markk: right now there's no upmixer flag… checking if upmixing can be done is check on the spot by looking how many channels we have now, and the max we can have. Now I could add a function that returns a simple boolean to see if we can upmix or not.. would be nicer I agree
