[02:00:06] danielk22: markk: No, I looked back at the 0.24 code and there was a mapping from the db modulation value to the HDHR modulation value only for 8vsb,qam128,qam256, i.e. the values recognized by the original HDHR.
[02:01:48] danielk22: markk: When that failed to work, which it would 100% of the time outside North America, short of a remapping like the one you did, we made a second attempt to tune using "auto" which wouldn't work all the time, but would work often enough.
[02:03:08] danielk22: markk: Right now, it only works for the North American modulation values; because those are the only ones with mappings. But I'll fix that this weekend.

[14:13:10] wagnerrp: seems disabling the timeline did not fix it

[14:14:25] wagnerrp: just a bunch of httpd instances... http://pastebin.com/gYrGHXxS
[14:14:52] wagnerrp: yeah, apache has options to set the limits on those things
[14:15:39] wagnerrp: but i dont think thats the problem

[14:21:20] wagnerrp: carry over from our other server with 4x the memory?

[14:25:47] danielk22: stuartm: are you familiar with configuring apache? maybe you can go in there and lower those values.. there are some related values to max clients in th httpd.conf & I don't know the sane values for those..
[14:27:28] danielk22: looking in /etc/logs/error_log every time we had server troubles we had reached MaxClients.. the logging suggests we increase it, but that's not really the right option with the amount of RAM we have..
[14:28:01] stuartm: danielk22: I'm familiar but I wouldn't say I'm comfortable enough to make those changes, I don't work with apache day to day like some others here
[14:28:38] danielk22: xris: ^^^^
[14:30:54] danielk22: wagnerrp: if you look at the log, trouble killing child processes is near MaxClients complaints.. pretty sure we're just heavily swapped at that point and a SIGTERM would work eventually (after the process swaps in, 10 minutes later..)

[14:35:52] stuartm: done
[14:41:20] stuartm: there is too much running on that server for the limited memory available, I guess the sooner we get it back onto the old hardware the better

[15:28:17] sphery: danielk22: wagnerrp and Captain_Murdoch gave you all the right info on the multi-file stuff. I think I've fixed the hardware issues (believe it or not, it was just a SATA /cable/ failure that occurred at the same time I swapped a HDD). I just returned home from a trip and will be here for a week, so I'll try to get the schema in place this week, but it will take some time to make the modifications to actually use the schema. As wagnerrp ...

IMHO, if anyone claims that they need it because of metered 'net access or similar, they can disable, "Automatically run mythfilldatabase," and use a cron job (especially since they'll likely be in a very small minority).
[15:43:16] stuartm: is anyone still on metered access these days?

[17:05:59] Captain_Murdoch: stuartm, my biggest complaint here is that the next suggested run time sometimes falls in prime time and it has disrupted recordings or playback before because of all the DB intensive stuff it does. and my MBE and DB are on a Core Duo 2.5Ghz w/ 2 GB of RAM, so it's not low-end hardware. granted, I was probably recording 6 things at the time as well, but it is a bit annoying when it runs during primetime, so I was considering t
