[00:38:20] markk: taylorr: something that occurred to me last night – have you tried a different driver version? I run a fairly old driver on both my nvidia/vdpau boxes (190.xx.xx)
[00:47:02] taylorr: markk: I tried newer ones but not older than 256.x

[03:04:03] jya: jpabq: are you there? how can I use the sample you've sent me and in particular the sql stuff. I'm guessing you use this to insert the file into the recordings list

[03:10:31] jpabq: jya, just drop the video file into one of your storage groups. Then import the sql file. Something like "mysql --user=something --pass=something < 2607_20110513000000.mpg.sql"
[03:10:52] jya: yeah.. just figured that.
[03:10:56] jya: but I'm running 0.24 here
[03:11:03] jya: so I need to adapt that entry

[03:25:17] jya: jpabq: when it repeats ; does the video do anything special?
[03:26:19] jya: I just had a repeat here; the video went very slowly all of a sudden as the audio was repeating.. is that what you are seeing ?
[03:31:47] jpabq: Actually, I don't usually notice the video do anything out of the ordinary. It seems to be independent of the audio repeat. However, I have had the video & audio do what you are describing, but not in conjunction with the repeat — it is more related to the "pauses" that taylor is trying to track down.

[03:40:41] jya: if the video does nothing special , do you loose AV sync then?
[03:41:33] jya: playing with myavtest did the same thing ; the video goes very slow as audio repeat, then it catches up and continue normally
[03:41:50] jya: occurred in exactly the same spot.. interesting

[21:03:21] MythBuild: build #175 of 0.24-linux-64bit is complete: Success [build successful] Build details are at http://code.mythtv.org/buildbot/builders/0.24 . . . t/builds/175
[21:03:35] sphery: yeah, heh, seems it didn't care about 0.24 since it was able to parse it (then made a strange version for mythffmpeg, I guess)
[21:04:40] stuartm: right, it didn't choke for 0.24 because there was only one . in the string
[21:05:10] sphery: yeah, just strange that we didn't notice problems with it until after the ffmpeg sync
[21:05:59] stuartm: sphery: they may have tightened/changed their regexps in the synced code
[21:06:41] stuartm: ok, re-building the tarballs for hopefully the last time, I'll upload them in about 5 minutes and then write the news item
[21:07:20] sphery: btw, thanks for taking care of the release
[21:07:40] sphery: taylorr: I'm not going to have any time to play with my system for a week or so
[21:07:46] sphery: (I won't be around the system)
[21:07:54] MythBuild: build #153 of 0.24-linux-32bit is complete: Success [build successful] Build details are at http://code.mythtv.org/buildbot/builders/0.24 . . . t/builds/153
[21:08:12] stuartm: it's no trouble, biggest headache was figuring out how best to re-write the release script for git
[21:10:53] stuartm: would have been quicker to have done it manually without bothering with scripting it, but it's done now
[21:14:05] MythBuild: build #14 of 0.24-linux-ppc is complete: Success [build successful] Build details are at http://code.mythtv.org/buildbot/builders/0.24 . . . pc/builds/14

[21:37:16] Beirdo^2: Stuartm: you sure the version file won't bork the nonrelease builds?

[21:39:45] stuartm: Beirdo^2: it's only used if 'git describe' is missing or fails
[21:41:22] stuartm: so technically yes, a non-release build from -fixes which was also exported would report it's version as 0.24.1 when it's actually 0.24.1+, but that's better than nothing at all
[21:42:06] stuartm: we can always bump the version string now that 0.24.1 has been tagged to indicate that it's some version after the 0.24.1 tag and not the 0.24.1 tag itself
[21:43:50] Beirdo^2: Ah didn't remember if it was checked first or last :)
[21:44:47] Beirdo^2: If you tagged 0.24.1 with an annotated tag Git describe will use that tag
[21:45:09] stuartm: I made sure it was that way around beforehand, I was even going to change the order if it was first but that didn't prove necessary
[21:45:24] stuartm: Beirdo^2: I used a lightweight tag ...

[21:45:27] Beirdo^2: Cool
[21:45:43] stuartm: I can replace it with an annotated tag easily enough
[21:46:11] Beirdo^2: Yup. It it pretty picky about that
[21:46:26] Beirdo^2: Is rather. Stupid phone
[21:46:57] stuartm: wonder why, wouldn't seem to be a good reason to ignore lightweight tags
[21:47:36] Beirdo^2: Beats me
[21:48:38] Beirdo^2: I'm sure there's some reason but I dunno
[21:48:42] stuartm: ok I'll do that just as soon as these tarballs are uploaded, it's going pretty slowly atm
[21:49:36] Beirdo^2: Cool. The release went OK?
[21:51:10] skd5aner: stuartm: you can use this in the news release if you'd like – http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Release_Notes_-_0.24.1
[21:51:11] stuartm: well so far, strictly speaking the tarballs aren't in the right folder yet
[21:51:16] skd5aner: or reference it I should say
[21:51:22] stuartm: skd5aner: thanks
[21:51:50] stuartm: I'm getting hideous upload speeds to the server atm
[21:51:59] skd5aner: it maybe missing no less than 1–4 changes, whatever's changed in -fixes sice friday that is making up the release, but I'll get to that tomorrow
[21:52:11] stuartm: and then I need to get it distributed to the mirrors
[21:52:42] stuartm: skd5aner: no real hurry, you've done fantastic work already
[21:53:08] Beirdo^2: It is definitely appreciated.
[21:53:08] skd5aner: ty sir! :D

[22:55:57] stuartm: was the www repo moved to git?
[22:56:11] stuartm: It's no longer on the server as far as I can tell
[22:58:08] stuartm: xris: ^ ?
[23:04:25] Captain_Murdoch: stuartm, yes, I think it's on git now.
[23:05:24] stuartm: ok, 0.24.1 is released, but there is no news post to go with it and there won't be until I find out where the www repo has gone
[23:05:29] xris: stuartm: long ago. git hosted on our own machine, though
[23:05:52] stuartm: xris: ok, I must have missed that, ... I think, let me double check

[23:08:04] xris: I think there are 3 repos under /opt/git/www
[23:08:56] stuartm: xris: yeah, CM has just provided the urls
[23:09:46] stuartm: is there a post-commit hook updating the live version?
[23:12:40] Captain_Murdoch: I don't think so, I think you still need to publish. nice idea though.
[23:13:02] xris: no, still need to publish
[23:13:21] xris: lack of hook is intentional as much as out of laziness, though. allows us to stage, edit, and then deploy at specific points
[23:14:13] stuartm: hmm, lacking perms to push remotely
[23:15:17] stuartm: xris: so long as I know whether the changes were going live as I pushed or not :)
[23:18:15] stuartm: ok, perms need sorting out, I'll have to do that tomorrow now as it's already late here
[23:18:48] stuartm: I've manually fixed conf.php for now so that people can grab the tarballs via the website
[23:23:13] xris: huh? not using osu?
[23:24:09] stuartm: xris: we are ...
[23:24:52] stuartm: albeit the rsync hasn't happened yet, I thought it was at midnight GMT
[23:25:03] stuartm: I'm asking for it to be run now
[23:26:02] stuartm: last time I asked they proposed giving us the ability to trigger the rsync ourselves but nothing more was said on that
