I wrote about some gotcha's in doxygen docs, but that was based on the assumption that the readers were familiar with multi-threaded programming and were just unfamiliar with Qt's threading model.

[12:57:32] danielk221: Beirdo: That expire_thread_run = false is redundant, it's set 13 lines earlier. The reason it's set there is so that it can be set with the instance_lock locked as per the mutex contract & before the wakeAll which will cause the Sleep() to exit quickly.
