[00:12:59] sphery: stuartm: I haven't planned anything for SchemaWizard. I started to do a popup to tell users that we're upgrading the DB and realized that SchemaWizard isn't MythUI, so I stopped there. Your porting it would be wonderful. I think Nigel did all that code, and I haven't really even looked at it other than for the popup I mentioned.

[15:21:22] Chutt: does the lossless transcode even work?
[15:21:47] iamlindoro: yeah, still works (though apparently some people have issues with it) but for my stuff I've not seen an issue in a long time
[15:22:07] iamlindoro: I get about 95% success, apparently others are not as lucky
[15:23:09] stuartm: Chutt: yeah, I use it all the time, on the rare occasion it fails when it hits a stream error
[15:23:47] Chutt: ah, ok
[15:24:10] stuarta: and that odd case where it gets into the 1 buffer full whilst other empty state
[15:24:13] Chutt: years ago it never worked properly
[15:24:25] stuarta: works very well for 99% of mpeg2 content
[15:25:17] stuartm: I'd love to see it get more attention, and an H.264 lossless transcode would be great but it's not really something I'd find fun to work on
[15:25:39] stuarta: i'm sure 26629 could have been implemented in a much better way. that's quite abstract for what it actually does
[15:25:43] jannau: it works almost 100% here, I can't remember when I saw the last error and I transcode a lot
[15:26:24] Chutt: heh
[15:26:44] Chutt: i always just added another drive instead of bothering with transcoding
[15:27:06] stuarta: i lossless transcode stuff i've edited to remove ads
[15:27:14] stuartm: Chutt: I mostly transcode to remove commercials for export to mythvideo etc rather than to save space
[15:27:20] stuarta: same
[15:27:26] Chutt: yeah, i can see that
[15:27:54] stuarta: process would be even easier if commercial detection worked in the uk :)
[15:28:01] stuartm: heh, yeah

[21:58:31] iamlindoro: markk: We're doing BD chapter navigation pretty.... wrong. The API exposes bd_get_current_chapter and bd_seek_chapter, we probably really ought to be using these instead of what we're doing right now

[22:02:29] jannau: --ignore-paths=^mythplugins/ would create a repo without mythplugins
[22:03:20] xris: so it only searches within trunk?
[22:03:28] jannau: the example with tags and branches in the man page is misleading
[22:03:34] xris: or rather, inside of a branch
[22:03:53] jannau: yes, only inside the tree
[22:03:58] xris: that sucks
[22:04:25] xris: I guess that means we just manually delete the branches before converting them to locals, then?
[22:05:29] jannau: yes
[22:05:47] jannau: or simple don't convert them before pushing
[22:06:00] xris: right
[22:06:32] xris: we should get something imported to github so we can test
[22:06:38] xris: and then schedule an official cutover time
[22:06:59] iamlindoro: markk: Hmm, scratch that I guess, if our current code relies on knowing the frame number at the start of chapter
[22:08:56] iamlindoro: markk: Think the last tiny change I just made *should* mean that title switch events in HDMV navigation mode will be properly handled, and the fix to pts should more or less allow input to work, but I'm not sure yet whether that input code is actually being reached, as I don't think the player is recognizing it's in a Blu-ray menu just yet. Need more debug. Anyway, just keeping you up to date
[22:09:30] j-rod is now known as j-rod|afk
[22:09:45] iamlindoro: markk: Going to try to get to a point where I can "blindly" invoke playback of a whole title from the menu and then maybe you can help me out with the menu overlay stuff. I haven't gotten a firm answer yet on whether there's more outstanding HDMV navigation code, but there very well could be-- still we are as up to date as it's possible to be
[22:11:20] iamlindoro: Also need to figure out how we want to handle a popup menu versus a root menu, as HDMV has both
[22:11:28] jannau: stuartm: can you add us too https://github.com/MythTV
[22:11:37] iamlindoro: We probably want a keybinding distinct from the myth menu bindings to call up the disc popup menu
[22:11:54] iamlindoro: (and obviously "IsInMenu" starts to become a little more blurry then)

[22:23:10] iamlindoro: So... I know this may seem like a little late to the party, but how in the heck to I start looking at github/associate myself with the project?
[22:24:07] stuartm: wtf, a word in the email I just sent changed ... must be a mis-firing auto-spellcheck
[22:25:45] jannau: stuartm: jannau

[22:27:21] iamlindoro: Thoughts on TOGGLEDISCPOPUPMENU as a keybinding discrete from MENU and ROOTMENU?
[22:27:30] iamlindoro: better names? Better ideas?
[22:27:31] stuartm: jannau: normally I guess I'd be able to pull your username from the 'follower' list, but that's offline atm since the database wipe at the weekend
[22:28:21] iamlindoro: Hmm... maybe even use whatever keybinding toggles MHEG to on?
[22:28:39] stuartm: xris: I just needed his username :) The problem with github is that when adding users it doesn't show any details about them, I wasn't going to assume that he was the first person to grab 'jannau' without his confirmation
[22:29:28] stuartm: iamlindoro: TEXT or something, although most mheg apps in the UK are also invoked by RED
[22:29:47] iamlindoro: stuartm: Hmm, so namingwise at least I guess that's not the most intuitive thing in the world
[22:30:18] iamlindoro: I'll just create a discrete binding in the meantime and revisit the naming before this code path is actually reachable by normal people
[22:30:29] cattelan is now known as cattelan_away
[22:30:50] stuartm: naming isn't, but if people have it bound then most likely they'd want to use the same button
[22:31:14] iamlindoro: Yeah. I'll come back to it, and I agree with you
[22:31:25] iamlindoro: Might need a change of context too, I'm not sure where that binding exists
[22:31:38] iamlindoro: (ie, might take a tiny db update and maybe a rename of the binding)
[22:32:29] stuartm: seems it MENUTEXT
[22:32:36] stuartm: TV Playback
[22:32:48] iamlindoro: Hmm... not the worst thing in the world then
[22:33:14] iamlindoro: thought "text" isn't quite right... not quite right for MHEG *or* Blu-ray popups, really
[22:34:22] iamlindoro: stuartm: And the behavior is the same there, yes? Another press of that binding toggles it off?
[22:34:51] stuartm: xris: given that 'owners' have all the rights of 'developers', and 'admins' have the rights of 'developers', is there really a need for everyone to be added to each of those groups?
[22:36:04] stuartm: iamlindoro: not sure why it used 'text', possibly some hangover to the 'teletext' days when it was purely a text based service (albeit with 'ascii' artwork for weather maps)
[22:36:32] iamlindoro: stuartm: I'm at least satisfied that it implies that it's a menu, but distinct from the Myth/Root menu
[22:36:46] iamlindoro: We can always change the descriptive string for that one and call it a day
[22:37:12] stuartm: iamlindoro: MENUTEXT toggles off again, there is a TEXTEXIT binding, but it's not really used for mheg
[22:37:22] iamlindoro: cool, good enough, thanks
[22:38:09] stuartm: ooh, the BBC One HD mheg is sexy
[22:39:21] cattelan_away is now known as cattelan
[22:41:07] xris: jannau: well, we have officially found a bug in fisheye... they can replicate the issue with our repo but not with our suspected causes
[22:41:29] xris: stuartm: talking about jira or github?
[22:41:38] Captain_Murdoch: stuartm, I'm the one that setup those groups and it was just a way to see all devs in developers even if the permissions overlap with owners/admins. and if someone doesn't want admin anymore, that can just be taken away without having to readd them to developers, etc.. that kind of thing.
[22:42:55] jannau: xris: so it's neither empty commits nor spaces in filenames?
[22:43:09] stuartm: Captain_Murdoch: fair enough
[22:43:17] Captain_Murdoch: only savings would be removing some from 'developers' and I think it's nice to see all listed in one place. especially if we add a 'themers' or something later.
[22:44:05] xris: jannau: the tech said things worked fine if he tried either of those things
[22:44:11] xris: so it's something with our import
[22:44:19] xris: I'm hoping that excluding certain branches, etc. might help things

[23:38:15] iamlindoro: Got HDMV navigation mode to take a keypress and start the film!

[23:39:27] iamlindoro: obviously it's not all the way there, but a darn good start
[23:40:48] markk: iamlindoro: I
[23:41:07] markk: 've not looked at the latest updates – but did anything significant change in the lib?

[23:41:28] kormoc: markk, thanks for the fast OS X compile fix btw
[23:42:09] iamlindoro: markk, It was all graphics controller/HDMV VM stuff, and a tiny bit of API stuff... I tried to mostly summarize it when committing, but might help what you were seeing (and if not, I can report it)
[23:43:01] markk: kormoc: no problem – just compiling on my macbook for the first time in a while. I'm hoping that a patch posted yesterday will fix video playback for me with qt 4.7

[23:44:22] iamlindoro: markk, I think I have it *mostly* behaving such that the right api calls are made for HDMV mode versus fallback mode... still a ways off of totally functional, but this is a nice breakthrough :)
