[16:30:34] | stuartm: | jpabq: an 'image changed' signal would be a little more elegant and versatile, although the principle is largely the same as a callback |
[16:31:03] | stuartm: | I'd be fine with it being implemented through such a signal |
[16:32:55] | jpabq: | stuartm, for now, I am tempted to leave on a TODO list. While I have found cases where <minsize> support of images is useful, I have NOT thought of a case where have variable sized buttonlist of images would be desirable (it would expect it to be annoying). |
[16:33:19] | jpabq: | I would expect it to be annoying |
[16:34:34] | stuartm: | jpabq: right, I couldn't think of a use but so long as it doesn't interfere with existing functionality or complicate the code too greatly I'd not object if you want to add it in future |
[16:34:55] | jpabq: | Okay. Thanks. |
[16:37:41] | stuartm: | sorry for the delay btw, I didn't see your question until just now :) |
[16:39:35] | jpabq: | stuartm, the only place I have thought of, where variable sized buttonlist of images *might* be cool, is the gallery view in mythvideo. The buttonimage will have coverart at higher levels, but then switch to screenshots as they become available. Having a variable sized button layout could allow the portrait images to pack closer together horizontally, and the landscape images closer together vertically. |
[16:40:05] | jpabq: | BUT, if you had a mix it would look like crap. |
[16:50:28] | jpabq: | stuartm, BTW, <group> is awesome. Makes all the inheritance stuff even more useful. |
[22:58:57] | jpabq: | Can "is/are" be used in a <template> and get properly translated to singular/multiple automatically? For example, <template>There is/are %1 recording(s) in this display group</template> is not working for me. I assume adding a tr() to the template processing in FillCutMessage won't work. |
