[05:00:55] mag0o: heh, i just looked at Childish on the widescreen, and it actually looked good
[05:01:02] mag0o: i should have gone 16x9 with it
[05:02:34] sphery: a friend of mine with a 4:3 display appreciated the fact that you went 4:3
[05:03:23] mag0o: :)
[05:03:39] mag0o: the guy i got the background image from has a 16x9 version of it
[05:03:40] mag0o: :)
[05:07:19] iamlindoro: Just wait til the e-mails start coming in
[05:07:38] iamlindoro: Hi, I was testing Childish and it appears you accidentally pasted an image of a lizard on your pink background
[05:07:44] iamlindoro: can you please e-mail me the correct background?
[05:08:03] sphery: at least it's not all pixellated garbage
[05:08:14] iamlindoro: "really?! dont you think it looks a little umm.. jarring seeing really blocky images mixed in with high-res fanart etc., i mean i know i can change them but still.."
[05:09:06] iamlindoro: reference e-mail: "Hi, i hope ive got the right email. Just downloaded arclight today (im using mythbuntu Karmic with the .23 autobuilds option), and it appears the background images (the tendrils) are heavily pixelated (ive attached them). Would it be possible for you to email me the proper images please? Thanks. I do understand that this is still WIP for you."
[05:09:56] wagnerrp: tendrils?
[05:10:29] sphery: WIP, first pass, create the image in 32x32-pixel macroblocks. Second pass, sharpen to 16x16-pixel macroblocks...
[05:10:36] iamlindoro: presumably because the images are named tendrils#/png
[05:10:52] iamlindoro: because they *are* tendrils, to which I applied the mosaic filter
[05:12:08] mag0o: :)

[11:16:36] paul-h: gbee: should the popup stack always be on top of the stack? In MythWeather we create a weatherstack but because that's created last it ends up on top so any popups that are displayed are hidden behind the weather screens
[11:17:56] paul-h: moving the popups to the weatherstack just locks up the FE
[11:19:46] gbee: The popup stack should probably always be the top most stack
[11:21:36] gbee: I was going to investigate a couple of possible solutions, the first being to permit stacks to be added in a particular position; or auto-promoting the popup stack to the top whenever a new stack is added (which is simpler for the plugin authors)
[11:25:47] paul-h: maybe add a bool popup = false parameter to AddScreenStack() and juggle the order so the popupstack is always the last one in d->stackList when stacks are added?
[11:37:07] natanojl: paul-h, gbee: Glad you're looking into the issue that I reported, although I think this particular issue is really a minor one. It is also the only place where I have seen it
[11:37:10] gbee: if we merely want the popup stack to be the last then we can just use the name, no need for the additional parameter to AddScreenStack(), at least not yet
[11:37:53] gbee: natanojl: it's currently the only place where a plugin uses it's own screen stack, there may be others in future
[11:42:16] gbee: paul-h: just occurred to me that replacing the mainstack bool with an int, or better yet a typedef int associated with an enum might be the more scalable solution, which is then used for sorting, the mainstack would be at zero and the popupstack would have a value of say 10
[11:42:50] gbee: it would default to 5, so stacks would automatically sit between the two unless overridden
[11:45:07] gbee: paul-h: I'm off out, but I like that idea best, gives freedom for any stack arrangement that people want
[11:48:02] natanojl: gbee: Yeah, I had only seen the main and popup stacks before
[12:29:08] natanojl: paul-h: With the patch and the OpenGL painter my FE locks up too, but not with the Qt painter
[12:46:18] paul-h: natanojl: ah, ok I was wondering why it was working for you and not me
[12:58:12] natanojl: Yeah, me too. I didn't think of that before. I developed the patch on a VM installation that I ssh into and the FE crashes when using the OpenGl painter. So I patched my 0.22-fixes which locked up
