[13:14:49] | gregl: | protonchris, You can check your DB in mythweb, if you have it installed or run optimize_mythdb.pl.. |

[17:45:24] | bthoo: | Setting up 0.29 from mythbuntu repo with hdhomerun on separate subnet. mythtv-setup can't detect hdhomerun because subnet and config page to manually enter IP won't let me type in any field but device ID?? |
[17:46:17] | bthoo: | If I arrow to IP address, description, etc. and hit enter it does nothing |
[17:47:32] | bthoo: | I entered IP address in device ID field which lets me scan for channels correctly – channels are found and added |
[17:48:32] | bthoo: | but no way to set tuner number so only one tuner is used |
[17:49:45] | bthoo: | Anybody know if I can edit the DB directly or other method to be able to manually enter tuner number and other fields that seem non-functional in mythtv-setup? |
[18:01:00] | SteveGoodey: | bthoo: Not sure if this is your version, but does this help? https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Configuring_MythT . . . omeRun_Prime |
[18:04:55] | bthoo: | My hdhomerun is actually extend, not prime, but it works the same way. The problem is mythyv-setup can only automatically detect hdhomerun devices is they are on the same subnet as the backend |
[18:05:56] | bthoo: | so, you have to manually enter the IP address of the hdhomerun. There's even a configuration page with a field for entering the IP address, tune number, a description |
[18:06:31] | bthoo: | but those fields just don't work. hittimg enter or clicking on them do nothing |
[18:08:29] | bthoo: | You can enter a device ID on that page (a unique hdhomerun identifier) but that number is only useful for talking to hdhomeruns on the same subnet |
[18:10:12] | bthoo: | I know the hdhomerun libraries let you use IP address in place of device ID for most things, so I typed the IP address in the mythtv-setup config page and that let me scan channels so I know the device is found |

[22:30:37] | absofrootly: | I get a random 0 byte recording every now and then. So far it's been about once per year and only happens once, so I haven't pursued further :/ It seems to be also when more than one show is scheduled to record simultaneously. I also have an old HDHR for two of my tuners. I have never been able to reproduce it even if I put all my tuners in use and start handbrake jobs to load the server. |
