Same problem: Error 8: The bound address is already in use. You'd normally do: sudo stop mythtv-backend and that would stop it properly. To prove that it's stopped, type: ps ax|grep mythbackend|grep -v grep and expect to see nothing. If there are still processes running type: sudo kill <PID>

Is there a way to increase liveTV buffer time before playback on a frontend? One of 5 of my frontends will lag when liveTv is playing. Pausing and resuming fixes the issue for 5–10 minutes. I'd like to buffer xMB before playback, is this possible?

Bray90820: Your choice. See if you have a file named: ~mythtv/.mythtv/backuprc and look for the line like: rotate=20 (that's what I selected.) I backup weekly, so 20 weeks worth. Unless there's a DB upgrade that automatically backs up the DB, which is the case for those of us running on master.
