nvzn: you can output dts-hd MA over hdmi via pass-through. However there are no decoders for it. But DTS-hD MA track is made of a DTS core track: so you can decode that part. Best is 6.1... For TrueHD there are decoders so it can be played or passthrough

It's an issue I've seen starting with iOS 6.1; sometimes (always the first time you try airplay) it takes several goes before playback stop. the iOS device connects, to disconnect very shortly after which drop the airplay connection.. so you simply have to try several times until it works. And from that point on it will work reliably
