[04:09:46] jpabq: Since my new motherboard doesn't have any PCI slots, I bought a hvr2250 just so I could feed a composite cable into it to get captions for my HD-PVR. Process is a bit different than describe here http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Captions_with_HD-PVR, but I have it working.
[04:12:56] jpabq: neufeld`: To get it working I had to use a combination of https://github.com/codeman38/zvbi2raw and ccextractor. I don't think the full symbol set is working, though, because special characters like ♪ are not showing up.
