[03:26:21] wagnerrp: seems like a better idea to co-opt the pianobar shared libraries into mythmusic
[03:26:53] wagnerrp: you can add menu items to the main menu XML to launch external applications

[04:22:44] dj_segfault: Hi. I'm experiencing a weird problem with mythweb. The main page loads, but when I click on any of the links (like Upcoming Programs), it says "Waiting for 10.1.10.120...". The Backend Logs and Searches work, but that's it.
[04:23:25] dj_segfault: One other weird thing is I tried using wget to test outside the browser, and it returned the initial page right away, but in spanish ;(
[04:23:43] wagnerrp: i recorded a NOVA episode last night about rampage killers, and there's the quote... "you don't expect the silly clown to do something like this, to kill people"
[04:24:06] Korny: I really like Nova and Nature
[04:24:17] wagnerrp: now come on, how long has there been a name for the fear of clowns? how long has it been a running joke? how many killer clown movies have there been in the last 50 years
[04:24:18] Korny: I remeber when Discovery used to have shows like nature
[04:24:20] dj_segfault: Oh, I'm at 2:0.25.2+fixes.20120802. I don't know how to tell ubuntu to upgrade it,
[04:24:34] wagnerrp: OF COURSE you expect the clown to go nuts and kill a bunch of people
[04:27:03] Korny: dj_segfault, has mythweb ever worked?
[04:27:11] Korny: or is it just causing issues now?
[04:27:39] dj_segfault: Yes, it was working for a long time. then this started maybe a month ago.
[04:27:50] dj_segfault: Maybe a bit more than that.
[04:28:04] dj_segfault: I also tried it from the server and same thing, so not a network issue
[04:28:13] dj_segfault: Nothing in the logs.
[04:31:32] dj_segfault: Maybe the clowns broke it.
[04:32:14] wagnerrp: from outer space?
[04:32:26] aloril (aloril!~aloril@dsl-tkubrasgw3-54f97e-153.dhcp.inet.fi) has joined #mythtv-users
[04:33:24] dj_segfault: Hmm. I'm tailing access.log and error.log and when I hit the "listings" link I don't see a hit in either log. I believe the entry gets written to the log when the request RETURNS, so that's not very telling.
[04:35:33] Korny: wagnerrp, think a sandy bridge low end pentium is enough for a front end?
[04:35:58] wagnerrp: assuming it has a functional graphics core, it should be fine
[04:36:10] Korny: Without needing a nvidia card for acceleration
[04:36:20] wagnerrp: low end, being 2.6GHz?
[04:37:04] Korny: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116406
[04:37:10] Korny: or something similar
[04:37:31] wagnerrp: probably fine
[04:37:36] dj_segfault: One more piece of evidence: mythtv-status hangs when I call it. I seem to remember when 2.0.25 came out there was a problem with mythtv-status and there was a fix to replace it with a script that parse the xml. I wonder if that's what's causing everything to not work.
[04:37:45] wagnerrp: note that the pentiums have no hardware acceleration
[04:37:56] wagnerrp: VAAPI is simply not an option with them, even if you might want to try it
[04:38:12] Korny: hmmm woudl I be better off trying an AMD?
[04:38:30] wagnerrp: VAAPI really isn't an option with AMD either
[04:38:31] Korny: my a6 3500 idled pretty low, I think 40 watts with a gt520 onboard
[04:38:48] Korny: 45 watts watchign 1080p
[04:39:49] ** Korny isn't sure why he's obessed with power usage, I used to not care **
[04:40:21] wagnerrp: this is what i'm using, idling at 25W, 32W during playback... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116777
[04:40:38] wagnerrp: figure that to be roughly halved if i were using a picopsu
[04:40:49] wagnerrp: plus whatever inefficiency is in the power brick
[04:41:18] Korny: not bad
[04:42:01] wagnerrp: when you're running such low wattage, a crappy power brick is actually going to be more efficient
[04:42:04] Korny: on 20 bucks more then the one I was looking at, so worthwhile upgrade
[04:42:13] wagnerrp: just because it's going to be running much closer to its design power rating
[04:42:24] Korny: There are some mini ITX boards that just take 12 votl input
[04:45:01] Korny: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135323
[04:45:32] Korny: cheaper to get a ivy bridge pentium then it is to get an atom, and probably et comperable power effiency
[04:46:11] wagnerrp: be careful running ivy bridge chips with 6x series boards
[04:46:34] Korny: I thought they were backwards compatable
[04:46:46] wagnerrp: i had to wait two weeks for foxconn to ship out a replacement BIOS ROM with an updated firmware
[04:46:55] wagnerrp: the firmware had been released 8 months previous

[04:47:53] wagnerrp: right
[04:48:14] wagnerrp: once they shipped the ROM, it took about 15 seconds and a pair of pliers to switch it, and i haven't had trouble with the system since

[05:10:43] wagnerrp: plus it's a lot more complicated than simply soldering on a capacitor
[05:12:15] wagnerrp: you'll need a whole secondary bank of VRC to handle the secondary output
[05:12:16] Korny: 120 watts would be plenty
[05:13:00] wagnerrp: Korny: in retrospect, i should have gotten the version of my case with a 60W DC supply, rather than a 150W AC supply

[19:59:28] tgm4883_: quantum, that doesn't use upstart does it?
[20:00:00] quantum: N mines at least 5 years old. Looking for an upstart.

[20:23:07] Plugh: I'm switching to a new Linux distro (Linux Mint 14) from an old Ubuntu (11.04) and updating/reconfiguring settings. MythTV is failing to update the mythconverg database due to a table that doesn't exist. I'm currently stuck at database rev 1271.
[20:24:21] Plugh: Can I just create an empty table for it to update?
[20:30:07] Plugh: Hm... tried it and it failed. I need the schema for the recordmatch table.

[20:47:12] Plugh: It did but the table didn't exist so it failed when it tried to update it.
[20:48:40] Plugh: Ah. I just checked my backup. The table is marked as crashed so it didn't get imported in to the new database under Mint.
[20:49:11] wagnerrp: the table shouldn't have existed before you did the import for it to be crashed
[20:49:17] Plugh: np. I'll reboot to Ubuntu and repair the table and re-export and import again.
[20:49:31] wagnerrp: unless you're saying the table was crashed and not included in the backup
[20:49:53] Plugh: that seems to be the case. I'm looking at a message in the .sql backup
[20:50:04] Kwisher: anyone ever seen the error message "video frame buffering failed too many times" during liveTV playback?
[20:50:21] Plugh: Yea, I have seen that before
[20:50:47] Kwisher: only happens on my hdhrprime when using two tuners at the same time
[20:50:47] Plugh: Acknowledging it puts you back to previous menu.
[20:51:00] Kwisher: correct
[20:51:09] ** Plugh nods **
[20:51:32] Kwisher: any suggestions?
[20:51:54] Plugh: I get that at times with my single tuner card when there has been a problem accessing the tuner card, such as after the machine was put to sleep and woken up.
[20:51:58] Kwisher: i've googled the he&& out of it with no luck
[20:52:31] Plugh: I first check that the order of the video devices didn't change (ie. mythtv is still video0). Other than that, I reboot.

[20:58:51] Kwisher: dvb are not sattelite, atsc

[21:04:08] wagnerrp: they do both ATSC and clear QAM. most tuners over here do
[21:04:37] wagnerrp: there are a handful of older ones that only do ATSC, and a few like your HDHRP that only do QAM

[21:08:30] wagnerrp: not really. there are known issues with livetv use in mythtv
