[04:09:34] terron: I'm about to install mythtv, but before I do that how can I make sure my tv tuner (Hauppage WinTV-HVR-2250) is actually working properly? reading from /dev/video0, which it appears to be installed on based on dmesg's output, just returns a blue screen

[04:16:42] wagnerrp: i've never used WMC to know if it is good at disguising digital tuning from the user
[04:17:07] wagnerrp: anyway, a blue screen typically indicates no signal
[04:17:20] wagnerrp: which at least means the encoder is working
[04:17:46] wagnerrp: either you're tuned to a channel with no signal, or you are configured to capture off one of the baseband (composite, svideo) inputs

I have channel 2 in directv and channel 2_1 in OTA, but they are the same channel. How can I reconcile the line-ups to be the same. I have recordings looking to record on channel 2.
