[02:35:41] ericwait: Can anyone help with a mythtv-backend that is running all my cores at 100%  ?
[02:37:57] Agrajag-: do you happen to have a mysqld process that's also at 100%?
[02:38:28] ericwait: no i do not
[02:38:52] ericwait: i have 9 processes running at about 40% according to htop
[02:38:57] Agrajag-: ok.. the whole leap second thing caused both my mythbackend and mysqld to be at 100%. probably not your problem then

[02:39:57] ericwait: the name of the processes that is
[02:40:40] ericwait: I have been having this prob for days now
[02:40:51] ericwait: thought it might work itself out but has not
[02:41:20] ericwait: updated to 0.25 today and restarted the process but no luck

[02:42:06] hilikus: hey guys
[02:42:21] hilikus: is there any way to disable all recording? i dont currently have cable service
[02:42:35] Agrajag-: ericwait: maybe run sudo date -s "`date`" just to make sure it's not hte leap second thing.
[02:43:09] Agrajag-: (assuming you haven't rebooted since you've had the problem.. if you have, then that's not it)
[02:44:52] ericwait: is "'date'" the right argument?
[02:45:09] Agrajag-: backticks, not normal quotes
[02:45:36] Agrajag-: as in teh button next to the 1 on your keyboard.. assuming your keyboard looks like mine :P
[02:45:49] ericwait: yep got it
[02:45:56] ericwait: what do i compare it to?
[02:46:06] Agrajag-: what do you mean?
[02:46:39] ericwait: so i get a date back, but how do i know if it is off due to the micro sec deal?
[02:47:24] Agrajag-: oh, that command will just set your date to the date it was already set to, it just causes the kernel to fix up a problem with the leap second thing, you should see the load go back down after running that command
[02:47:28] ericwait: it seems faster then my windows box, but who trusts windows?
[02:47:47] Agrajag-: if load is still high, sorry, not sure what th eproblem is
[02:48:24] ericwait: nope, even restated the backend process :-/
[02:48:40] tank-man: when does it use 100% of the cpu? can you reproduce it all the time?
[02:49:05] ericwait: the first thing the log says when it gets back up is runhousekeeping
[02:50:08] hilikus: anyone?
[02:50:24] ericwait: oohh there is something new this time, autoExpire: filesystem info cache unable to determine what recordings to expire
[02:50:59] hilikus: disabling all recording
[02:51:21] ericwait: sorry it should read "filesystem info cache is empty"
[02:51:53] ericwait: hilikus: do you just want to temp disable or for good?
[02:52:04] hilikus: temp
[02:52:16] hilikus: but something persistent
[02:52:32] hilikus: that would survive a reboot
[02:53:45] hilikus: ericwait: any ideas?
[02:54:04] hilikus: the only thing i see is a backend argument, but thats not persistent
[02:54:08] ericwait: i'm looking through some things, haven't found anything yet
[02:54:48] ericwait: is there a problem just letting it not record on it's own? if you have no tuners it will not record anything
[02:55:30] hilikus: will i be able to restore it after?
[02:55:39] hilikus: without having to modify all the rules
[02:55:50] Agrajag-: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Frequently_Asked_Q . . . _programs.3F

[04:58:43] tgm4883: if he first noticed it on July 2nd, and we haven't done a 0.24 build since April I'd imagine he just added that to say he was on an updated mythtv build
