[00:36:03] vaapi-help: tek, any idea where the problem lies?
[00:41:42] tekdoc: could be a myth problem since vaapi seems to work in other apps

[16:03:49] sphery: Sharky112065: you need current 0.25-fixes and libcec 1.5+ (though I'm not positive 1.6 or 1.7 work), and you need to ensure libcec/cec.h is somewhere in your include path (or specify --libcec-path ... see ./configure --help)
[16:04:09] sphery: the last also implies you need libcec dev headers installed...
[16:04:11] wagnerrp: also, could you pastebin your config.ep?
[16:04:41] sphery: basically, though, you need to be at or after: http://code.mythtv.org/trac/changeset/20d6852d905 mythtv revision
[16:05:11] Sharky112065: +sphery: lol just got it like 10 seconds before your post

[16:05:32] Sharky112065: there is a — option to specifiy the location for the headers
[16:05:50] ** Sharky112065 wants his hour back **
[16:06:31] sphery: generally, though, for stuff like that, reading configure source is your best reference
[16:06:40] Sharky112065: The good news is mythtv compiles in under a minute with no errors
[16:06:41] sphery: (though it's difficult)
[16:07:05] wagnerrp: from scratch? with no prior files built?

[16:08:19] Sharky112065: RAID 6
[16:08:26] sphery: 32gb ram... nice
[16:08:47] wagnerrp: ah, so reads come off the RAID, but writes get cached by XFS
[16:08:55] wagnerrp: that would do it
[16:09:43] Sharky112065: Are external codec options ont he configure screen needed? they all say no. Do these codecs exist in mythtv internal?
[16:10:02] sphery: only use options specified in ./configure --help
[16:10:03] wagnerrp: the only external codec we use right now is Lame
[16:10:40] sphery: ah, you mean the ones in the "External codec library options" section
[16:10:56] sphery: wagnerrp: even if using HLS
[16:10:57] Sharky112065: +sphery I have been documenting the steps I used from start to finish. I missed a few reinstall of some python stuff but ill just put in there if you see warnings about python stuff missing on configure reinstall the packages and it fixes it.
[16:10:58] wagnerrp: other options for things like x264, xvid, or vpx are just for the mythffmpeg utility, or the HLS server
[16:11:01] sphery: ?
[16:11:19] wagnerrp: and of those, i believe x264 is the only one used by the HLS server
[16:11:27] sphery: Sharky112065: are you actually working to get a good compile with the deb build scripts?
[16:11:40] wagnerrp: i dont know if the HLS server will do webm compression
[16:11:43] sphery: documenting that--and submitting any required patches for it--would be excellent
[16:12:34] sphery: yeah, I think--especially in 0.25--it's just x264 and lame for hls
[16:12:49] sphery: I was thinking there was one besides lame we needed, but couldn't remember for sure
[16:12:59] wagnerrp: we need lame for other stuff anyway
[16:13:01] Sharky112065: Im not using any build scripts. I did use apt-get build-dep mythtv though
[16:13:09] sphery: then again, I don't/won't use HLS, so...
[16:13:40] wagnerrp: no desire to use a tablet/smartphone?

[16:15:37] wagnerrp: i wonder how well that bulldozer compares to an older stars 6-core in terms of compression

[19:55:20] wagnerrp: if you list /storage/videos, 'samba' will show up as a folder
[19:55:44] wagnerrp: if you list /storage/videos/samba, all the contents of samba will show up as root entries
[19:56:03] wagnerrp: if you do both... the scanner isnt designed to handle that
