k, it really seems to be a download problem, but I don't get a point to start. http_proxy is set, wget to the urls works, --server-response gives 200 – OK, but mythvideo can't write to the location.

darkdrgn2k, even though it's only 60Hz and LCD, there's no blurring like the 'low-end' brands... it does a great job. Sports are watchable in HD, ie: high-motion does not blur, suprisingly for a 60hz set.

There is another version of the HD PVR, the HD PVR 01445, that comes with universal game-system and A/V component cables for a bit more than the 1212. The HD PVR 01445 itself is the same as the HDPVR 1212, but has green LEDs.
