[02:19:43] Saturnation: Is there way I can find out why mythvideo scan isn't adding some videos? Logging setting? (Some of the videos in the directory are present, but others aren't in the DB :( )
[02:23:16] Saturnation: there are nine videos in the folder and only five are showing up. Thinking that one of the filenames was causing a problem I moved it out of the directory. After scanning, 2 of the original 5 are still there and there are three new videos. :/
[02:27:38] iamlindoro: almost certainly a permissions issue
[02:29:11] Saturnation: NOPE
[02:29:34] Saturnation: just found some of the videos in the PARENT directory in MythVideo
[02:29:59] Saturnation: not sure if they are all there, but not in the directory in MythTv where I expected them to be
[02:31:14] Saturnation: hmm, I'd love to see how these files are searched and parsed...
[02:31:47] iamlindoro: you're in luck, the source is free
[02:35:51] Saturnation: I'm not in luck, I hate reading C++ :P
[02:36:11] iamlindoro: Guess you don't really care how the scan/parsing work then
[02:36:16] Saturnation: when I say see, I mean debugging output, not the source
[02:36:49] Saturnation: caring and loving must be different then? :)
[02:38:51] kormoc: I like how you assume we have debugging output that would be useful to track down this specific issue

[02:40:39] Saturnation: my bad
[02:41:03] iamlindoro: We do have debug output for it. But no amount of logging will tell you that you didn't put the files in the directory
[02:41:06] abarbaccia: hey is there any way to just see recordings that "premiered" this week? i.e. original airdate >= sysdate – 7 ??
[02:42:19] Saturnation: iamlindoro, I'm 100% positive that the videos are there. If I move one OUT of the directory and re-scan, the videos showing up in MythVideo change, in that another set of 5 of the remaining videos in the directory are now showing up in MythVideos listing for that directory
[02:42:52] Saturnation: When I query the database, I can see that only some of the videos have been placed in the DB, but not all of them

[02:43:29] iamlindoro: we log what files are added to the database, and their hashes, by default
[02:43:43] iamlindoro: It'll be right there in the terminal output when you scan
[02:43:59] Saturnation: ah, not running from the terminal
[02:44:14] Saturnation: Ok, I'll kill the backend what it is done recording and run it in a terminal, thanks
[02:44:32] iamlindoro: You don't need to kill the backend, just start your frontend from a terminal
[02:44:42] Saturnation: ah, its the frontend
[02:44:44] Saturnation: d'oh
[02:47:12] wagnerrp: abarbaccia: there is a canned search in mythweb that does that

[02:49:39] Saturnation: ah, could there be a problem if the same video is in the database more than one in two different locations?!?
[02:50:11] Saturnation: s/one/once

[02:58:53] BadSector: Anyone have luck getting a card 36 working with mythtv via mythbuntu? I have video, but I can't seem to get the sound via the pci bus, always have to use the audio out to line in. I know that it can use the pci bus as I have done it before but lost the steps or they are different now..
[03:00:18] wagnerrp: 'card 36'?
[03:00:19] BadSector: I believe it has to do with the setup possibly. In mythtv backend setup/ general, 3 deep there is an option for audio device, and it is set to ALSA:default ... i'm not sure if that is right but there are no other options... i am thinking i need to type something there...

[03:03:18] BadSector: In the Alsa mixer i can select either my pc sound card or the bt878.. but can't seem to get any sound from the bt878 part.. or I may not even be routing it correctly. I have enabled all the captures in the capture tab, but i am getting nothing thru them

[19:33:25] wagnerrp: theres probably a table you can truncate that will cause mythtv to repopulate everything
[19:33:26] tafkaz: man...someone shoul put this in the wiki then....because i managed to delete some of the entries which leaves me with a very bad profile setup
[19:33:40] wagnerrp: but it may just clear out the existing profiles and leave you with nothing
[19:34:02] tafkaz: well the existing profiles are erally unusable

[19:45:10] tafkaz: Twiggy|worx, too old, and still not good
[19:45:45] tafkaz: theres entries which cant be deleted, so i guess it would prolly be better to clean things, dont you think?

[19:49:44] CyberKnet: tafkaz: I think you are asking the wrong question. You should start with "I messed up my playback profiles. How can I restore them back to original settings?" rather than start with assumptions about the best way to do it.
[19:49:44] dustybin: *5
[19:50:55] tafkaz: CyberKnet, i know, and i found a solution in the wiki, which sadly enough doesnt work for me...#
[19:51:42] tafkaz: 2010-11–23 20:51:32.060 TriggeredConfigurationGroup::removeTarget(): Failed to find desired value(Schonend) — aborting
[19:52:27] tafkaz: there's bad entries in my config somwhere, and i thought it would be a good idea to get rif of them
[19:52:35] tafkaz: rid that is

[19:53:30] tafkaz: there's lots of rubbish
[19:54:20] tafkaz: so basically i would like to delete every playback profile leftt, to make myth reset all the profiles back to standard
[19:56:59] Twiggy|worx: tafkaz, wagnerrp said that there is abug for adding and deleting profiles. What happens when you delete your profiles...
[19:57:41] tafkaz: well the (now) empty profile remain th and cant be deleted
[19:57:55] tafkaz: ter's 4 or 5 still there
[19:58:00] tafkaz: there's
[19:58:35] tafkaz: and for each one, when i try to delete it i get that error message in the log

[20:07:07] inordkuo: maybe upgrading is messing things up for me
[20:09:29] inordkuo: my question was about vdpau and running twinview in clone mode for two 1920x1080 lcd's. getting bad tearing on both.
[20:09:48] inordkuo: setting the vdpau env variable to sync to one or the other doesn't seem to do squat

[20:10:40] dustybin: 2010-11–23 20:09:57.347 The server failed to process the command. The error was:- ERROR – Cannot get shared memory pointers

[20:15:42] wagnerrp: its a... 2GHz 1MB cache?

[20:18:39] inordkuo: wagnerrp: if your talking to me, i use hdpvr's so i need vdpau and i have amd 64 x2 4200+ 2.2ghz. not real sure about the cache size.
[20:18:57] wagnerrp: nope
[20:19:13] inordkuo: oh ok sorry
[20:19:21] tafkaz: the inabillity to delete those entries for profiles strikes me still

[20:20:09] Twiggy|worx: inordkuo, thats how I run mine and it works for me
[20:20:17] inordkuo: one other thought i had was running a powered dvi or vga splitter
[20:20:36] inordkuo: since i have no problems running a single display but running 2 cloned seems to cause issues
[20:21:12] inordkuo: but i have no idea how that would play out with syncing and tearing issues
[20:23:19] Twiggy|worx: inordkuo, I dont think its a good idea to split signals in most cases.
[20:24:29] tafkaz: i tried to create a new profile....but its all borked. it wont save the settings anymore
[20:24:52] inordkuo: ok thanks for the advice

[23:50:14] sphery: my caviar green works fine for me--it's just a mythtv recording drive, so parking/spinup/spindown isn't a problem.

[23:54:49] sphery: thanks for the info and the image
