[01:02:57] Aval0n: cool
[01:03:05] Aval0n: I am considering getting tv service
[01:03:08] Aval0n: but I still wanna use the HTPC
[01:03:11] Aval0n: to record my stuff
[01:03:19] Aval0n: and I'm not sure which services it's possible with
[01:03:23] Aval0n: cox offers a STB with firewire
[01:03:30] Aval0n: but they use 5c encryption
[01:03:34] sphery: from what I understand, whether it's possible with firewire is very dependent on where you're at
[01:03:35] kormoc: get a hdpvr and enjoy it all?
[01:03:36] Aval0n: on all premium chans
[01:03:48] sphery: any encrypted you can't use with Myth--only through a STB and an HD-PVR
[01:03:58] Aval0n: doesn't getting an hdpvr render mythtv useless?
[01:04:24] jolaren: http://www.irblaster.info/?gclid=CJKcreGljKACFUl_3godSQ31eA
[01:04:29] sphery: No, it provides a way for MythTV to capture analog output of a set-top box
[01:04:30] jolaren: that is one cool setup for mythtv
[01:04:50] AndyCap: Aval0n: a hauppauge HD-PVR component hd capture card
[01:05:05] AndyCap: not a hdpvr box from your cable co
[01:05:17] sphery: ahhh... I see where the confusion came in.
[01:05:27] AndyCap: I guess card is the wrong term for a usb device though. :P
[01:05:36] Aval0n: interesting
[01:05:44] Aval0n: so you channel change with the firewire
[01:05:44] bonelifer: cool setup? That just looks like a serial IR receiver to me.
[01:05:53] jolaren: bonelifer, I like the box
[01:05:54] Aval0n: and record via the component?
[01:05:55] sphery: I guess I haven't done enough shopping for cable services/STB's to think of it as a DVR STB

[01:08:00] jarrod1: resolution was like vga size
[01:08:14] jarrod1: when I wanted 720p
[01:08:15] bonelifer: joraren I want to saw that is a cable set top box and not an htpc. ie the thing the blaster is made to control.
[01:09:13] Aval0n: hmm
[01:09:39] Aval0n: anyone know if directv usues 5c encryption?

[01:10:54] sphery: language, please :) thanks.
[01:11:15] Aval0n: sorry
[01:11:36] sphery: directv uses some other encryption, so you'd have to use an HD-PVR with it (and Dish network)
[01:11:52] jarrod1: hey I have a question on LIRC.. my remote can be configured to send a command either once, or 3 times in a row. when its set to send 3, mythtv responds as if it was 3 button presses, unless I make the "gap" variable longer in lircd.conf. then myth sees it as one pulse. but of course holding down the button makes it appear as one pulse too.. any way I can make 3 pulses in a row appear as one press, and any more than this cause it to repeat?
[01:11:58] Aval0n: is it not 720p like jarrod mentioned?
[01:12:27] sphery: jarrod1: delay = 3
[01:12:37] sphery: jarrod1: or delay = 5
[01:12:45] sphery: jarrod1: or repeat = 3
[01:12:46] jarrod1: in lircrc?
[01:12:49] sphery: or some combination, thereof
[01:12:52] sphery: yeah
[01:12:59] sphery: in the stanza for the button
[01:13:05] jarrod1: what exactly does that do?
[01:13:24] sphery: delay is the delay before it starts sending repeats and repeat says "if you get 3 signals, treat it as one button press"
[01:13:25] jarrod1: I tried repeat = 3, and I played around with delay
[01:13:33] jarrod1: ok
[01:13:35] kormoc: Aval0n: I have a hdpvr, I capture in 720p but have worked fine for 1080i, no issues
[01:13:35] sphery: but repeat is forever and delay is only at the start
[01:13:39] jarrod1: that sounds like exactly what I want

[01:15:17] Beirdo: neither of which will help me test any HDTV stuff :)
[01:16:09] sphery: After HDTV, I'd really have to think before going back to PVR-x50... I'd likely decide missing shows is better.
[01:16:21] Beirdo: well, all the channels here suck
[01:16:33] Beirdo: but I wanted to record a pile of stuff so I can test things

[01:18:29] jolaren: kormoc, works just fine in SD channels

[01:34:46] ** Beirdo hates computers tonight **
[01:36:57] jarrod1: sphery, what you suggested didn't work. I PM'd you details
[01:40:33] sphery: jarrod1: you'll probably need a combination of repeat and delay and you'll need to specify a proper gap
[01:41:15] sphery: I can't give you anything more than that because I'm sure I'm not using the same remote, so I don't know how yours needs set up.
[01:41:36] jarrod1: the thing is, if I specify a gap which encompass the two pulses from one button press, if i then hold down the button it still sees it as one button press
[01:41:41] sphery: but repeat and delay do exactly what they claim to do on my setup
[01:42:16] sphery: jarrod1: with repeat = 0 (which is the default--and you don't have repeat specified, so...), that's exactly the behavior you'd get
[01:43:20] jarrod1: our lircrc should be compadible... ish. can you paste an example of how you use repeat and delay?
[01:44:14] jarrod1: should I make repeat = 2 and delay = 2?
[01:44:29] sphery: that's a good start, then adjust as desired
[01:45:51] jarrod1: according to lirc.org for repeat " A value of zero tells the program to ignore repeated keys."
[01:45:57] sphery: http://mythtv.pastebin.ca/1808890
[01:46:12] sphery: exactly--which is what I said above
[01:46:51] sphery: (ok, didn't say it outright, but that's where I was going with my statement)
[01:46:55] jarrod1: oh ok. so if that is the default why do I get repeats anyway
[01:47:47] sphery: likely because your remote/lirc driver manages its own "is this a repeat or not" indicator
[01:48:59] sphery: like mine sends a code that says the button and the number of the repeat (1,2,3,4,5,6,...). if for some reason (broken gap setting, RF interference, ...) it sends 1,2,3,1,2,3,4 , that's 2 presses regardless of repeat and delay settings
[01:49:07] jarrod1: depending on how I set gap in lircd.conf, the output of irw can be ... 00 up... ...00 up...
[01:49:18] jarrod1: or ...00 up.. ..01 up...
[01:49:42] sphery: yep, so when it goes 0,1,0,1, that's 2 and repeat and delay won't help
[01:49:44] jarrod1: I under stand that
[01:50:12] jarrod1: but, if I hold down the button with the later settings I get 00 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 etc
[01:50:45] sphery: so the later setting is what you want, then set repeat and delay properly
[01:50:48] jarrod1: which is understod by lircrc as one press
[01:51:20] jarrod1: where as I want it to be like 00 01 00 01 00 01 when I hold down a key
[01:52:18] sphery: no, you want 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7, then tell lirc delay = 5 and repeat = 2 and it will see 0,1,2,3,4 as one press, then at 5 send a repeat, then at 7 send a repeat, then...
[01:52:34] jarrod1: ok I will give that a go.
[01:52:48] jarrod1: that makes sense

[02:03:31] jarrod1: tell me about it :P
[02:03:54] sphery: and, besides, understanding /how/ it works is really just as important as making it work

[02:05:44] pete27: sphery: yeah, seriously, thanks for hte help

[02:06:10] jarrod1: how did that go?
[02:06:39] sphery: jarrod1: I have an answer for everything. Occasionally, one of them is even correct.  :)
[02:06:51] skd5aner: no so well, the theory was good, but the keyboard had a seperate code for key press an key release, but the remote wasn't capable of the same
[02:07:28] skd5aner: I still use the keyboard though, sitting 12" from me as we speak
[02:07:46] skd5aner: in fact, I stopped using my remote all together to control myth – just use keyboards (for now)
[02:08:04] jarrod1: at one point I was considering programming a microcontroller to decode the IR from a remote and emulate a PS2 keyboard to avoid lirc
[02:08:21] skd5aner: I have a REALLY nice remote, a nevo q50, but just haven't gotten around to programming it
[02:08:57] jarrod1: I think there is even code for a atmega somewhere on the net for just that
[02:11:36] skd5aner: that was my idea – it's feasible, just not with the IR keyboard I had

[02:48:47] wagnerrp: so him, mkrufky, isnt there a third?

[02:52:54] jolaren: Is it possible to use VDPAU for everything else but HD channels?
[02:53:06] jolaren: On HD channels I want to use the processor ++ profile
[02:53:17] [R]: jolaren: any reason?
[02:53:19] wagnerrp: you can not mix and match playback profiles
[02:53:29] [R]: jolaren: that sounds kinda stupid and backwards though
[02:53:30] jolaren: [R], vdpau lags on HD
[02:53:30] wagnerrp: however you can specify different decoders based off resolution
[02:53:38] [R]: jolaren: then you've got something setup wrong
[02:53:56] jolaren: [R], I don't know what could be setup wrong tho
[02:54:01] [R]: jolaren: if your processor can handle the hd
[02:54:03] jolaren: Perhaps codecs..
[02:54:10] [R]: then wahts the point of using vdpau for sd
[02:54:21] jolaren: to put the load of the processor
[02:54:23] dmb: oh
[02:54:40] [R]: jolaren: huh?
[02:54:55] ** Beirdo scratches his head **
[02:55:04] jolaren: [R], vdpau goes of the gpu, right? and processor ++ of the cpu
[02:55:09] jolaren: or have I gotten this all wrong?
[02:55:13] [R]: yes... so if you play hd on the cpu
[02:55:21] [R]: that means your cpu can handle it... so it can most deefintley handle the sd
[02:55:31] Beirdo: heh
[02:55:50] jolaren: [R], Yes, the processor can handle the SD.. but I'd like to use my processor power for else things
[02:56:03] [R]: the cool thing about linux
[02:56:06] [R]: you can actually do 2 things at once
[02:56:16] jolaren: mind to elaborate?
[02:56:23] ** Beirdo blinks **
[02:56:24] [R]: it can be playing back the crappy sd

[02:56:41] wagnerrp: it can do multiple things simultaneously
[02:56:47] jolaren: I know but I have 4 frontends apart from my backend/frontend
[02:56:54] [R]: and?
[02:57:01] [R]: they are all running on the same computer?
[02:57:05] jolaren: no
[02:57:28] [R]: ok so the fact that you hav 4 frontends means...
[02:57:34] wagnerrp: so this is a frontend-only box/
[02:57:41] jolaren: I just think it would be more suitable to use the vdpau for videoplayback but I guess if you lot say it's no problem to use the cpu i guess i'll take your word for it..
[02:57:47] jolaren: No this is a front/backend
[02:58:00] Beirdo: so use vdpau
[02:58:06] jolaren: hd lags
[02:58:07] Beirdo: I'm confused here
[02:58:15] jolaren: high definition channels lag
[02:58:17] Beirdo: lags from what to what?
[02:58:25] jolaren: the picture display
[02:58:31] iamlindoro: if HD "lags", then you are using a deinterlacer your hardware is incapable of, or you're not using VDPAU
[02:58:52] wagnerrp: what card do you have?
[02:58:54] Beirdo: what is lagging with relation to what?
[02:59:17] jolaren: wagnerrp, the hauppage dvb-t nova 500 pci card
[02:59:19] Beirdo: the picture with respect to the audio? or is it just a delay from control to playback?
[02:59:23] wagnerrp: graphics card
[02:59:28] wagnerrp: thing youre using vdpau with
[02:59:30] jolaren: Beirdo, the picutre gets lagged.. dont know what to say..
[02:59:30] Beirdo: what are you trying to say?
[02:59:41] jolaren: it's like a paper that gets torn.. switch and it's over
[02:59:52] jolaren: like 0.3 sec disturbance every fifth second or something like that
[03:00:01] Beirdo: ah
[03:00:10] wagnerrp: like iamlindoro stated, they only reason you would have trouble playing HD through VDPAU is problems with the deinterlacer
[03:00:17] wagnerrp: either your GPU is not powerful enough to handle it
[03:00:29] wagnerrp: or youre using a 2x deint, on a monitor thats not fast enough
[03:00:50] jolaren: I have two comps connected to the screen
[03:00:56] jolaren: the other comp can play 1080p no proboem
[03:01:01] jolaren: so must be the deint thingy
[03:01:06] iamlindoro: jolaren, wagnerrp asked you what GPU you are using
[03:01:53] jolaren: NVIDIA GeForce 8200
[03:02:03] jolaren: I am sorry, I was looking up the name of the integrated card
[03:02:04] iamlindoro: Then that is the very bottom end device you can use VDPAU with
[03:02:05] jolaren: I didn't know
[03:02:11] iamlindoro: it's not going to be capable of much at all
[03:02:12] wagnerrp: then youre rather limited in what deinterlacers you can use with 1080i content
[03:02:44] jolaren: can I change the deinterlacer (I'm sorry I don't even know what that is)
[03:03:05] iamlindoro: just use the VDPAU Slim profile
[03:03:26] iamlindoro: which will use the worst deinterlacers
[03:03:48] jolaren: oh, rite
[03:04:51] jolaren: Might that be the reason for the sound-problems while watchin HD material?
[03:06:08] Beirdo: could be related, I guess.

[04:40:34] Beirdo: I think I'll still blame the underwear gnomes
[04:40:47] Beirdo: that or Microsoft... they always deserve some blame
[04:41:12] mag0o: they *were* the win32 codecs
[04:41:25] jarrod1: they hacked the ubuntu package system to making it believe myth is no longer required
[04:42:19] Beirdo: Hmmm. should take a good look at that deb and myth's to see if we can't figure out the issue
[04:42:54] mag0o: want me to scroll back through the history on that box and see what it was?
[04:42:56] jarrod1: I will take a look at my command history to see what I installed
[04:44:43] mag0o: started with non-free-codecs and w32codecs, apt-get suggested libavcodec52 libavformat52 libpostproc51 libswscale0 sidplay-base xsidplay so i added those, and that's when it determined that it no longer needed mytharchive and mythexport
[04:45:07] mag0o: funny thing was, i was adding codecs *for* mytharchive*
[04:45:46] jarrod1: I was playing around with graphics drivers
[04:46:05] jarrod1: I removed and reinstalled nvidia drivers
[04:46:18] jarrod1: just before "it" happened
[04:47:01] jarrod1: or at least that was just before I noticed. it may have happened before

[04:48:55] jarrod1: sudo apt-get remove nvidia-glx nvidia-glx-legacy nvidia-glx-new nvidia-settings
[04:48:55] jarrod1: then installed NVIDIA-Linux-x86–190.53-pkg1.run
[04:50:59] jarrod1: just after that in the history I have "ps -A |grep myth" and "mythbackend" and "mythfrontend" so that seems to be when I noticed

[15:04:36] iamlindoro: So the issue isn't the code, it's that you have legacy themes installed that aren't compatible with your version of myth

[15:16:05] iamlindoro: the fact that it is
[15:16:16] swerve: so the package name is wrong?
[15:16:31] swerve: the devs apparently put 0.22 name on a 0.21 package
[15:16:52] iamlindoro: I'm not willing to speculate what wrong with packages, aside from saying most packagers are clueless

[15:18:40] sphery: or old (edited) PHP files
[15:19:00] swerve: i think it must be some php thing.... 1 sec...
[15:19:23] iamlindoro: It's not some PHP thing. The protocol is set in the Mythweb files, not a conf file
[15:19:27] iamlindoro: I give up
[15:19:54] iamlindoro: more likely you deleted what you thought was the mythweb dir, but it wasn't
[15:20:03] swerve: so iamlindoro why is there a message in the home directory from the dist-upgrade about php config changes
[15:20:47] iamlindoro: why do you keep asking me packaging questions? I am telling you your theory is *impossible*
[15:21:10] iamlindoro: the protocol is in the mythweb code, not a conf file-- so it can't be "some php thing"
[15:22:47] swerve: it seems that the debian package does not upgrade the mythweb directory – after moving it i'm getting a different error
[15:23:31] swerve: nope – must be a bug
[15:24:15] swerve: i completely removed the /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb directory, removed mythweb, reinstalled, it installed a new mythweb dir, same problem
[15:24:36] iamlindoro: then the packages are broken
[15:24:58] sphery: yeah, if it's a bug, it's in the package, not in MythWeb
[15:25:22] oobe: maybe restarting apache would work ?
[15:25:32] sphery: swerve: your best bet is to talk to others using your distro (and your distro's packages) for help
[15:25:33] swerve: oobe: tried that already a few times

[15:27:03] swerve: lol – no readme there
[15:27:26] swerve: 2 browsers & virgin mythweb browser all give same error
[15:27:27] sphery: lots of distros don't include it (because it's a "security" problem)
[15:27:42] sphery: though none have ever explained why it reduces security
[15:27:58] swerve: let me just look at these apache configs in case it's something there
[15:28:04] sphery: it's not there
[15:28:07] sphery: iamlindoro is right
[15:28:14] swerve: although iamlindoro assures me it's completely in the program
[15:28:19] sphery: the protocol version that mythweb speaks is defined in the MythWeb PHP code
[15:28:30] sphery: so it can /not/ be a PHP or apache config issue
[15:28:30] swerve: for some reason that concept is not getting trhough my thick skull
[15:28:59] sphery: unless you're using the wrong application name/directory to access mythweb and hitting an older version that's installed in parallel

[15:29:24] sphery: yeah
[15:30:00] swerve: same as it ever was, right?
[15:30:03] sphery: if you have an app defined at /mythtv for the 0.21-fixes install and for some reason the 0.22-fixes install changes it to /mythweb , that could be a problem

[18:50:51] Beirdo: sometimes
[18:50:52] dmb: not this snow though
[18:51:05] Beirdo: mostly for being able to watch NHL :)
[18:51:07] Beirdo: and CBC
[18:51:13] devinheitmueller: There's no snow on my TV (since switching to digital)
[18:51:23] ** J-e-f-f-A loves Snow, just hates shoveling it... **
[18:51:33] Beirdo: J-e-f-f-A: yeah, exactly
[18:51:36] AndyCap: devinheitmueller: digital doesn't have the olympics? :P
[18:51:46] dmb: that is whats nice when living on campuis
[18:51:58] devinheitmueller: AndyCap: Yeah, one bad pun deserves another.
[18:52:00] dmb: devinheitmueller: cablevision?
[18:52:07] devinheitmueller: dmb: OTA
[18:52:13] dmb: oh
[18:52:14] ** Beirdo WANTED to capture digital.. but the air2pc died an unnatural death, it seems **
[18:52:20] J-e-f-f-A: dmb: You still have to clean off your car, no?
[18:52:36] dmb: atm, i don't own a car
[18:52:43] dmb: waiting until the spring before I buy one
[18:53:08] devinheitmueller: dmb: but I'm a little closer to the transmitter than Mahwah: http://www.devinheitmueller.com/dsc00801.jpg
[18:53:36] Beirdo: I'll hopefully rebuild in a month or so... at which time the guidance of the smart people here as to which ATSC tuner to purchase will be handy
[18:53:41] AndyCap: Beirdo: I dunno, but last night I was thinking about some cards requiring PCI 2.2 and not working in older spec motherboards
[18:53:56] Beirdo: well, I tried it in a new mobo
[18:53:56] ** iamlindoro sends someone to clean devinheitmueller's windows **
[18:54:01] dmb: lol
[18:54:04] AndyCap: Beirdo: that should be googlable though so I guess you've found out by now
[18:54:25] devinheitmueller: iamlindoro: Yeah, it costs about $120 to get my windows cleaned, so I haven't paid to have it done since moving in.
[18:54:29] Beirdo: I won't throw it out, but I'm pretty sure it's an ex-tuner
[18:54:41] ** iamlindoro recalls window cleaner, pockets $120 **

[18:55:08] devinheitmueller: iamlindoro: you're welcome to, but at 7 stories up I don't think you would really want to.
[18:55:33] Beirdo: aye.
[18:55:47] AndyCap: devinheitmueller: the rapelling windowcleaners charge 120 bucks?
[18:55:58] Beirdo: poor air2pc.
[18:56:19] devinheitmueller: The don't come from the roof. They use harnesses/ropes to secure themselves from inside the apartment.
[18:56:22] Beirdo: last time I was in a high-rise, the condo fee covered cleaning
[18:56:45] devinheitmueller: I've never actually seen it done, and in fact am quite curious myself how they would clean my particular window configuration.
[18:56:51] Beirdo: heh
[18:57:16] devinheitmueller: Beirdo: it's not a high-rise. The Coop is responsible for the structural aspects of the windows (for example, if they break), but the shareholder is responsible for cleaning.
[18:57:34] Beirdo: ah. I guess that's a sensible split
[18:57:55] Beirdo: so if you want em cleaned for free, go bowling for windows?
[18:57:58] J-e-f-f-A: devinheitmueller: So get yourself a rope and do it yourself... ;-)
[18:57:59] dmb: and... the snow turned into rain
[18:58:40] devinheitmueller: J-e-f-f-A: Yeah, I can't for insurance reasons.
[18:58:55] Beirdo: hehe
[18:58:56] devinheitmueller: The window cleaners need nearly two million dollars in insurance.
[18:59:15] Beirdo: what a crazy world we live in
[18:59:24] devinheitmueller: At that height, if the guy drops a bucket he would likely kill someone.
[18:59:33] J-e-f-f-A: ? In case they fall on top of a Ferrari Enzo parked beneath them?
[18:59:36] Beirdo: yeah, for sure
[18:59:38] devinheitmueller: ... hence the insurance.
[18:59:57] Beirdo: a squeegee to the head from that height would suck
[19:00:08] devinheitmueller: Beirdo: agreed.
[19:00:27] Beirdo: maybe not for long, but it would suck
[19:00:45] devinheitmueller: I worry far less about the possibility of property damage (such as some guy's Ferrari) as I am more concerned about the implications of the guy falling out the window or dropping something.
[19:00:56] Beirdo: yeah
[19:01:00] AndyCap: s/the guy/you/
[19:01:15] Beirdo: the Ferrari has insurance too, and is still only a posession
[19:01:19] AndyCap: if you're going to do it yourself.
[19:01:20] Beirdo: not a life.
[19:01:23] devinheitmueller: AndyCap: Well, obviously I would be more concerned about *me* falling out the Window, but that's only to be expected.
[19:02:05] Beirdo: and any fool who has a Ferrari with no insurance deserves to have it totalled by a falling object
[19:02:14] devinheitmueller: Speaking of bad puns and windows, my office mate asked if any of the meteorologists had windows, and I told him that maybe they are all Mac users.
[19:02:17] AndyCap: btw. who builds a seven story building with windows you can't flip to wash?
[19:02:30] devinheitmueller: AndyCap: It's very common.
[19:02:49] AndyCap: got floor to ceiling windows then?
[19:02:52] devinheitmueller: ... not so much for *new* construction, but this building was renovated over thirty years ago now.
[19:03:01] devinheitmueller: They are not quite ceiling to floor, but pretty close.
[19:03:21] devinheitmueller: It's a twelve foot ceiling, with windows from the ceiling down to about three feet.
[19:03:30] Beirdo: nice
[19:04:02] devinheitmueller: Yeah, I like it. Lots of sunlight, but it makes it harder to cool.
[19:05:31] Beirdo: for sure.
[19:05:38] Beirdo: nice thick drapes would help
[19:05:59] Beirdo: but then the sunlight ain't there

[21:09:09] dmb: stoth: is there a way to do passthrough with that?
[21:09:45] stoth: dmb: use the firewire port, you'll be incredibly happy with mythtv then.
[21:10:06] dmb: heh, never tried that
[21:11:01] Beirdo: jamesd2: then why would you want to affect recordings by slamming the processor DURING recording rather than postprocessing an unaffected recording?
[21:11:23] stoth: Beirdo: So you can watch 15minutes behind live
[21:11:52] jamesd2: Beirdo, it would be nice to do it seletively... like when the wife is going to want to watch a show 15 mjinutes after its over...
[21:12:13] Beirdo: stoth: yeah, I guess having it as an option might be OK, but if commflagging is "barely better than realtime", then that will likely affect the quality of recordings in many cases
[21:12:50] Beirdo: unless it's artificially slowed down
[21:12:55] jamesd2: and recording even hd tv uses about 7% of my cpu... plenty left to flag commercials and the show is allready in memory so probably quicker than re-reading the whole thing.
[21:13:13] Beirdo: well, it has to decode the frames
[21:13:17] stoth: Beirdo: I believe you are wrong, based on success stories I've heard. (On something faster than a 1ghz POS)
[21:13:21] Beirdo: that's the limiting factor
[21:14:07] iamlindoro: We already allow commflagging for in-progress recordings
[21:14:09] Beirdo: stoth: I'm not trying to argue, but if the PC *can't* commflag at significantly faster than realtime, it is using a lot of CPU

[21:19:52] iamlindoro: There were some instances in .21 where poor signal strength/broken stream could cause issues, that should mostly no longer occur
[21:19:54] iamlindoro: stoth: no
[21:20:12] dustybin: who won the theme competition?
[21:20:19] mag0o: heh
[21:20:19] Beirdo: not me
[21:20:20] stoth: iamlindoro: bah!
[21:20:45] iamlindoro: dustybin: judging has not occurred
[21:20:49] dustybin: aye ok
[21:20:58] Beirdo: I didn't enter, so I didn't win :)
[21:21:12] dustybin: Beirdo: the same thing happened to me :D
[21:21:43] Beirdo: trust me.. if I DID enter, I wouldn't win either

[21:24:04] iamlindoro: yup
[21:24:50] high-rez: So i opened a RT ticket for missing channels but it was closed without without only a couple of the channles mixed :(
[21:25:06] Beirdo: oh jeez. No, I'd be in last. I'm not graphically inclined :)

[21:26:15] mag0o: :)

[21:26:39] mag0o: MythCurses
[21:26:45] Beirdo: or beirdobot's console :)
[21:27:03] high-rez: For example, I reported msnbc hd missing from the lineup (all tiers) and it wasn't added. :/ Infact the closed ticket referenced channels that were already in the lineup properly.
[21:27:35] dmb: devinheitmueller: do you have any idea where I start with the remote control :P?
[21:27:43] dmb: i plugged the wire thing into the ir port of the card

[21:33:39] devinheitmueller: You can look at the linuxtv.org wiki page and see if it has any suggestions.
[21:33:40] dmb: seems like most of the guides refer to usb recievers
[21:34:29] devinheitmueller: I actually don't think I have a version of the 1600 with the IR receiver.
[21:34:50] dmb: oh
[21:34:57] dmb: it also has a transmitter
[21:34:59] dmb: no needs for that

[21:43:48] devinheitmueller: obruT: analog tv scanning is completely disabled in MythTV.
[21:43:55] devinheitmueller: It is known to be broken, and it does not work.
[21:45:01] devinheitmueller: obruT: here is the ticket where it was disabled in 0.22: http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/6530
[21:45:03] wagnerrp: s/broken/not-even-written/
[21:45:19] obruT: devinheitmueller: ok, what can I do to enable analog channels in MythTv ? can I somehow import channels from xawtv or tvtime ? (manually configuring one by one could be painfull)
[21:45:51] wagnerrp: ah, nevermind... daniel says it is broken
[21:45:54] devinheitmueller: obruT: Your only option is to either enter them manually via the channel editor, or downgrade to 0.21, do the scan, and then upgrade to 0.22.
[21:46:10] obruT: devinheitmueller: ok, thanx
