[03:37:58] Anduin: HRearden: add a new, change the input associations, delete the old
[03:38:47] HRearden: Or don't delete the old, I guess, so that the old chanid history on recordings still pulls up info, right?>
[03:39:18] Anduin: If it is really important, I guess.
[03:40:09] HRearden: Well, if you totally delete the old video source, that's when you end up with all the old #### stuff when you pull up past recordings
[03:40:28] HRearden: And I thought that it could also screw up the scheduler algorithm in some cases, although I'm not entirely sure..
[03:41:23] Anduin: If a source isn't associated with an input nothing can schedule on it
[03:42:02] HRearden: Right, but I thought in terms of oldrecorded entries and dup checking it might be an issue
[03:42:27] HRearden: Don't recall at the moment, although I was looking at that code deeply a few months ago.
[03:43:10] HRearden: On the other hand, if you keep the old video source, then you are still pulling data from SD, which seems wrong too.
[03:43:58] iamlindoro: hm, AFAIK mythfilldatabase won't d/l listings for anything not associated with an input
[03:44:26] HRearden: I could check that if I end up going that route.
[03:44:32] iamlindoro: but.. I guess I've never had old lineups laying around so I could be wrong about that

[03:46:14] Anduin: Yes, just saying chanid isn't going to make a difference
[03:46:56] HRearden: I thought, though, that if you did something like "record only on this channel" then perhaps the oldrecorded entries structure might matter.
[03:47:41] Anduin: Yeah, I won't say for certain but I don't think it does (channel is for future, duplicate checking is universal)
[03:48:27] HRearden: Right. Perhaps I'm confusing it with the feature I was trying to implement (duplicate checking based on an individual channel, which *would* have needed such a thing....)

[03:50:08] HRearden: The other piece here is that they've only REALLY re-orged the pay channels (those above 76). 95% of my recordings are those in the non-reorged range. That *might* tend to point me in the direction of just updating the existing videosource to point to a different schedules direct lineup. Thoughts?

[08:25:15] Bernardo: I never had the time to do a proper backtrace and detect if the bug was in the v4l driver or myth, so I never submitted it, but the updtae to hardy seems to have fixed it, so it probably was something solved in v4l between 2.6.22 and 2.6.24

[14:49:41] LabMonkey: that way I could just rip my DVDs and put all of the ISOs on some big storage so I can be lazy and use mythtv like a dvd jukebox

[22:29:35] Aval0n-: hmm
[22:29:47] Aval0n-: have you tried using mplayer or vlc to play it?
[22:29:55] antgel: Aval0n-: works fine under /xine/ on my laptop, that is, with same library versions
[22:30:08] Aval0n-: that's not a good diagnosis though
[22:30:20] Aval0n-: different players have different lasers/hardware read discs differently
[22:30:25] antgel: Aval0n-: so what do i do, try with xine on my mythtv box?
[22:30:31] Aval0n-: you need tp try it on xine with the same box
[22:30:34] Aval0n-: yes
[22:30:38] Aval0n-: what OS?
[22:30:38] antgel: okay, 1 min
[22:31:55] antgel: linux 2.6.18, debian lenny
[22:33:12] Aval0n-: I use vlc to play my movies through mythtv
[22:33:15] Aval0n-: but that's just me
[22:33:22] Aval0n-: many people just use the internal player
[22:33:23] Aval0n-: or mplayer
[22:33:31] antgel: Aval0n-: works fine in xine! so it's not hardware. but i don't understand if it's a bug in myth's internal player – how come my other dvds play okay?
[22:33:45] Aval0n-: not sure man
[22:33:48] Aval0n-: could just be a bug
[22:33:48] antgel: Aval0n-: *nod* i try to keep it simple by using the internal player
[22:34:04] Aval0n-: aye
[22:34:33] antgel: okay, i'll raise a bug report with as much info as i can
[22:36:12] antgel: thanks for your help

[23:42:42] keith4__: the only way I can figure out to stop it is to ssh in and kill mplayer
[23:43:05] keith4__: and then mythfrontend gets all my keypresses that were queued up
[23:45:29] jedix: that sounds like you're not running a window manager
[23:45:48] jedix: I think
[23:45:50] jedix: dunno though
[23:46:31] keith4__: i'm running fluxbox, I think
[23:47:00] keith4__: but... that's a good place to start looking, thanks
[23:48:32] PatrickDK: strange
[23:48:46] PatrickDK: I never used to run a windows manager on my box, and myth seemed to work fine for me

[23:50:05] keith4__: i was just running mythfrontend using xinitrc
[23:50:16] keith4__: which explains why myth works fine, but mplayer doesn't get any input

[23:51:42] keith4__: how do I get the stupid fluxbox "dock" to hide when mythfrontend starts?
[23:52:07] elg: keith4: maybe try an alternative
[23:52:17] devsforev: Hey everyone. I am using debian and have installed the myth packages using apt-get. I am trying to get mythzoneminder to work, but the package was compiled for zm 1.22.2, and i'm running 1.22.3. Is it possible just to compile mythzoneminder from source and have apt manage the rest of my plugins?
[23:52:19] elg: metacity seems to be popular
[23:54:51] keith4__: metacity is going to install 500M of crap
[23:54:53] keith4__: no thanks
[23:55:20] keith4__: might as well just install gnome
[23:55:23] elg: openbox

[23:55:51] kdubya: like with compiz
[23:56:02] keith4__: ha
[23:56:06] keith4__: i have neither metacity not compiz
[23:56:12] kdubya: aight
[23:56:13] elg: i'm sure fluxbox could be configured to get rid of the dock, you'd have to check their docs
[23:56:50] elg: fvwm
[23:56:53] elg: so many to choose from
[23:57:59] devsforev: If you are just using the box for mythtv exclusively, i've found Openbox works just fine. And there is no dock by default, hehe
[23:58:07] keith4__: interesting
[23:58:21] keith4__: see, now fvwm is a good option. it's small
[23:58:26] keith4__: xfce4 is big, too
