[00:00:28] dwbell: mythtv is having trouble playing audio on a few files downloaded with bashpodder.
[00:00:55] dwbell: Happens on both myth boxes, yet sound is fine if I use another program to watch.
[00:01:19] dwbell: output of file is: ./hak5--2x10--xvid.avi: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 640 x 480, ~30 fps, video: XviD, audio: MPEG-1 Layer 3 (stereo, 24000 Hz)
[00:01:33] dwbell: any ideas?

[00:36:36] tank-man: what is bashpodder?
[00:44:01] dwbell: a script to download podcasts using wget. I have it set to download video podcasts to /recordings and I rebuild the database once in a while
[00:44:50] dwbell: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BashPodder
[00:47:31] tank-man: does it play in mplayer ?
[00:50:21] blergit (blergit!n=grimcogs@ppp59-167-90-50.lns1.mel6.internode.on.net) has quit ("[Mal`] I know what you mean, I remember the day the jury said she definitely looked 16 and not 12, was the best day of my lif)
[00:51:58] dwbell: plays in mplayer, totem, kaffiene even amarok will play the audio
[00:52:24] czth_ (czth_!i=dbrobins@nat/microsoft/x-922e982b7737f8ef) has quit (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[00:53:16] dwbell: I've had this happen with other video podcasts, but always with h.264 encoded video, this one is giving me trouble as xvid
[00:54:52] Captain_Murdoch: posting an error message or a pastebin link to the "-v playback" logs might be helpful to someone.
[00:58:22] dwbell: Captain_Murdoch: fairly new to myth, where would I find playback logs?
[00:59:13] Captain_Murdoch: depends on your distribution. you'll have to check the script that starts mythfrontend to see if they are even turned on. if not, then close mythfrontend and just run it manually from a terminal window. "mythfrontend -v playback | tee audio_problem.log"
[01:00:12] dwbell: thanks

[01:10:02] dwbell: Ok, started mythfronted with that command, ran the file for a few seconds and this was the output:
[01:10:10] dwbell: http://www.darylbell.com/audio_problem.log
[01:11:12] dwbell: sorry if this isn't proper protacol for posting this type of thing, I'm unfamiliar with pastebin.
[01:12:25] Captain_Murdoch: no problem.... pastebin is easy, just go to the page, paste your log in the box and submit. it will give you a link which you can give to others to see your file.
[01:12:49] kevin1: I am attempting to edit a recording and add cut points, I then transcode it and when I leave the program and come back they are back to default and what I edited is not saved.. How can I get it to save the edits?

[01:15:05] Captain_Murdoch: dwbell: looks like there is no video in that file, just audio. is that correct?
[01:15:31] Captain_Murdoch: if so, then mythfrontend can't play it because it is only setup to play files with both.
[01:16:15] Captain_Murdoch: no one has spent the time to get mythfrontend to be able to play files with just audio.
[01:17:12] dwbell: testing, I think the offending portion is here: http://pastebin.ca/598083

[06:23:12] mchou: that's their definition of "open"
[06:23:17] denon: hah, thanks Tanthrix.
[06:23:20] juski: spose if you bought beyondtv you're likely gonna want to get your $$$ worth
[06:23:42] denon: juski: nah, Ive been using it for several years, have gotten my money's worth :)
[06:23:46] mchou: like Tantrix know wtf he is talking about
[06:23:53] denon: I really didn't come into to start a platform war..

[06:24:38] Tanthrix: Hrm, my firewire setup seems to be getting more unreliable by the week. I wonder if they've 5C-ed some more channels lately
[06:24:41] juski: you could probably just set up a cron job to automagically import beyondtv recordings, but you're in messy territory there

[06:24:51] Tanthrix: When the gf finishes the daily show I'll have to go check the regulars again
[06:25:03] juski: and you'd still have to figure out how to get mythtv to schedule recordings from beyondtv
[06:25:15] juski: hardly ideal!
[06:25:27] Tanthrix: Should probably just cancel my subscription, I'm only recording a few things here and there on my super special extra HD channels
[06:25:27] denon: juski: there a clean way to aggregate lots of sources, and display them in lists by show or folder?
[06:25:38] mchou: yeah, it's called rdp
[06:25:42] mchou: lol
[06:25:52] mchou: hardly rocket science
[06:25:59] mchou: use vnc if you have to
[06:26:08] denon: ?
[06:26:25] Treito: i get segfaults when watching DVD, depending on the DVD on the same time code, but it differs with every DVD, any idea?
[06:26:33] samesame: one day i might build a ultra-quiet compact, small front end only
[06:26:40] mchou: if btv was really open you'd be able to grab all the listing descriptions and whatnot
[06:26:45] juski: mythtv isn't hot at aggregating lots of anything other than its own recordings
[06:26:48] denon: mchou: you can
[06:27:02] mchou: denon: so what is the problem?
[06:27:09] denon: juski: ah, see most of this is stuff Ive captured and cleaned up, or ripped from my own dvds etc

[06:27:45] juski: the er.. video plugin
[06:27:53] denon: just a nice way to organize media from lots of source
[06:27:56] mchou: samesame: yup
[06:28:08] samesame: excellent
[06:28:15] denon: samesame: afaik ,you can do it via pxe as well – no need to burn up read/writes on a usb thumb even
[06:28:18] samesame: my front end will have no HD, just a usb stick
[06:28:24] juski: denon: if all you want is a dumb media player, mythtv ain't really for you
[06:28:48] samesame: what is a pxe?
[06:28:49] juski: I'd recommend Elisa to you if it wasn't a closed source PoS that doesn't even play MPEG2 out of the box
[06:29:05] juski: but seen as it is.. ;)
[06:29:10] denon: samesame: it boots off the network, then pulls the image of the OS/software/etc from a server
[06:29:12] denon: and loads it into ram
[06:29:22] samesame: i see
[06:29:23] denon: so all your need is mobo/cpu/ram/video :)
[06:29:26] denon: no usb

[06:29:54] Tanthrix: juski: By any chance do you know of any simple lirc compatible OSD file browsers? (IE, something like mythvideo in file browse mode with no meta data)
[06:30:02] juski: nope
[06:30:14] Tanthrix: Seems like all the ones that are out there are huge and bloated, like freevo
[06:30:15] juski: jees you guys are hard work this morning. I should go to bed or something
[06:30:31] denon: myth works fine via pxe, from what I've heard
[06:30:49] juski: a frontend without a backend is umm.. fairly impotent :-P
[06:30:56] mchou: sure myth works with pxe
[06:31:12] juski: and you still need a mysql server to store all the metadata
[06:31:15] mchou: that aint the issue. having massive amounts of ram is
[06:31:39] mchou: at least enough ram not to ever swap

[06:35:11] denon: yeah, see thats why :)

[06:35:47] mchou: samesame: nah, you tell dhcp server where to look for tftp (server)
[06:35:50] denon: the bios will probably have an option for onboard lan cards to boot pxe first
[06:35:57] samesame: interesting, that means u can have a mythtv front end with no HD, no USB Stick
[06:36:03] denon: no mchou, the nic bios has to boot pxe
[06:36:10] denon: THEN it pulls the lease, and gets the tftp data

[06:56:13] mchou: nah, HD usage really isnt the problem
[06:56:32] samesame: what is the problem then?
[06:56:53] mchou: it's the fact you have tof configure the separate images that gets to be the real PITA

[06:59:11] DMJC-L: you don't want cables going into laptops
[06:59:16] mchou: at this unless you have a lot of rooms and TVs in your house, I'd recommend going with disk because it will save a lot of configuration headaches
[06:59:18] DMJC-L: it's a quick way to bust your cable ports
[06:59:36] samesame: ok

[07:26:31] mchou: xris: if so, then it's probably encrypted

[07:33:26] ShockValue: xris: any hints? (like do i have to pay money?) :)
[07:33:31] mchou: ShockValue: dude, you dont need to hook the TV up to a box to get to the menu
[07:33:38] ShockValue: oh no?
[07:33:45] xris: ShockValue: it'll have to be for-pay at first
[07:33:47] ShockValue: hrm, maybe i misunderstood the docs
[07:33:52] mchou: ShockValue: you do need the remote though
[07:34:10] ShockValue: hrm, i might be able to find that without stirring the slumberer
[07:34:12] ShockValue: afk
[07:34:19] xris: we'd all like to be able to provide some basic info for free, but until we have an idea of what things will cost, how many users there really are, etc. we can't do that.
[07:34:34] xris: mchou: that's one day.
[07:34:42] xris: only takes a day to start a business in this state.
[07:34:50] mchou: xris: so Tribune wasnt will to provide demographic info?
[07:35:08] xris: mchou: we have some data. doesn't mean that many users would pay, though.
[07:36:04] mchou: xris: anyway, I just hope it's not some lame brain crap like that myth "value add" earlier
[07:36:17] mchou: forget what it was called
[07:36:18] k-man: samesame, yeah, i know... i have tried all options, i believe its some bug as it used to work fine with an older version of xmame
[07:36:26] xris: lxm wasn't so bad.
[07:36:42] xris: but as I understand it, we'd basically end up taking over labs.zap2it, for a fee
[07:36:46] mchou: yeah, lxm, that's it
[07:36:56] xris: can't really know for sure until tms hands out more NDAs
[07:37:04] mchou: xris: really now?
[07:37:33] mchou: xris: they need free admins? :)
[07:37:56] xris: like I said, more info should be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks.
[07:38:18] mchou: xris: I'm in no hurry
[07:38:30] xris: yup, still have 2 months
[07:38:39] mchou: but just realize that in perpetuity

[07:40:18] mchou: xris: yup.
[07:40:34] xris: a LOT of people were affected by this, and the working group is getting more diverse every few days
[07:40:43] mchou: like btv and snapstram and all those commercial stuff
[07:40:51] mchou: snapstream*
[07:41:09] xris: nothing commercial
[07:41:26] mchou: well, at least it's good that tribune is still open to the idea
[07:41:58] ShockValue: hrm. ok i hit "ok" on the D11 in the diagnostic mode, but then the box doesnt show me anything
[07:42:09] ShockValue: what'm i missin?
[07:42:27] ShockValue: got my instructs here: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_use_a_Mot . . . P_is_Enabled
[07:42:32] mchou: ShockValue: probaly some arrows?
[07:43:22] justdave: when I do "s" for the program listings from livetv, it seems to get stuck in a loop
[07:43:30] justdave: looks from appearance like it's crashing over and over again (screen flashes quickly then blank for a bit, and the only way to get out is to ssh in and kill mythfrontend and restart it), except it doesn't actually crash.
[07:43:36] mchou: ShockValue: or try the 2nd part of that in the instruction
[07:43:41] justdave: http://pastebin.mozilla.org/112773 is the chunk of the log that keeps repeating over and over while it's looping
[07:43:54] justdave: anyone have any clues which of those messages is the actual problem? or what to do to help debug it?
[07:44:07] ShockValue: i dont have to have a screen hooked up to see this stuff eh?
[07:44:20] mchou: ShockValue: nope
[07:44:25] ShockValue: hrm, ok ill go try again
[07:44:51] xris: mchou: there are several options for getting the guide data. Most of us would like to keep working with TMS, though.
[07:45:13] mchou: xris: yeah, no doubt
[07:45:30] mchou: xris: keep the # off ppl low and reduce complexity
[07:46:23] mchou: considering TMS aggregates the data anyways it's not a bad game plan
[07:47:24] ShockValue: ok, i change to channel 108. turn off the box. hit select
[07:47:34] ShockValue: then down arrow to d11 and hit select
[07:47:50] ShockValue: screen goes blank. up/down does nothing, left/right toggles d11 on and off
[07:47:54] ShockValue: same with d6
[07:48:22] mchou: ShockValue: 108 doesnt even sound like a HD channel
[07:48:40] mchou: you better check your lineup again
[07:49:00] ShockValue: 104–113 is the mirror of the SD channels 4–13
[07:49:14] ShockValue: 108 is KCTSHD1 (pbs)
[07:49:26] xris: mchou: I've contacted a couple of individual tv stations. you'd be amazed at how disorganized they are.
[07:49:35] xris: their idea of a data feed was a hand-made xls file.
[07:49:42] mchou: hehe
[07:49:57] ShockValue: ill try 662, tnthd! :)
[07:51:17] ShockValue: same result.
[07:51:26] ShockValue: this would be way more fun if i wasnt out of beer

[08:09:28] paranox: i mean a stereo mp3 upmixed to 5.1
[08:09:48] samesame: a stereo mp3 upmixed to 5.1? ive never heard of that before
[08:10:06] samesame: if the file is still a mp3, it will have 2 audio tracks, left and right stereo?
[08:10:33] paranox: upmix, ie. duplicate the sound to the read channels
[08:10:53] paranox: *rear
[08:11:02] samesame: you've lost me here
[08:11:10] mchou: paranox: that's a function of your sound card, nothing to do with mp3
[08:11:30] mchou: duplicate sound to rear channels
[08:11:49] paranox: mchou: i know. ive got it to work with everything except mythmusic
[08:11:57] paranox: so i was just wondering if anyone has had any luck doing it

[08:14:07] paranox: obviously it does if its the only thing its not working with
[08:15:04] mchou: dude, for starters you tell myth to use alsa instead of OSS
[08:15:33] paranox: why do you assume im using oss?
[08:15:55] mchou: I'm not assuming anything. that's what your pastebin says
[08:16:14] paranox: ???
[08:16:22] mchou: or maybe that was someone else's pastebin
[08:16:22] paranox: ive said nothing about using oss
[08:16:30] paranox: ive said nothing about using either
[08:16:33] ** justdave hasn't seen him mention a pastebin url **

[08:18:58] paranox: samesame: im using alsa
[08:19:15] samesame: have u played with the alsa mixer yet?
[08:19:19] paranox: sure
[08:19:48] paranox: samesame: ive got .asoundrc to do the upmix

[08:20:14] paranox: no
[08:20:27] paranox: its ok with everything except mythmusic
[08:20:29] paranox: ill explain
[08:20:51] paranox: module in .asoundrc called ch51dup does the upmix
[08:21:01] paranox: if i select this for mythtv, it works fine and upmixes
[08:21:44] samesame: if you play your mp3 with something other than mythmusic, does it play ok?
[08:22:45] paranox: if i select it for mythmusic, my music doesnt play and stderr gives something along the lines of 'expected 44k, got 48k'
[08:22:56] ** justdave gives up on the program guide and heads to bed **
[08:22:58] paranox: except all my music is 44k

[11:28:40] juski: jc: so how many channels do you have to update? can't be that many surely
[11:29:06] juski: you can use mythweb on another machine to edit the finetune column of the channel table

[11:55:35] juski: if it's 100 DPI you shouldn't. if it's not, you should
[11:56:06] sebrock: what is default, I cant find any DPI stuff in my xorg.conf
[11:56:20] juski: and FYI you can only select big, small & default for font sizes. changing the numbers will only change the size of the Qt widget fonts!
[11:56:35] sebrock: ok
[11:57:02] juski: it pays to make sure you have all the right fonts installed for the theme you're using

[12:36:40] sebrock: and will this really fix this because there is already an entry in rc2.d
[12:38:34] juski: rc2.d? no idea sebrock. you need an lcdproc ubuntu expert
[12:38:56] juski: I'd suggest asking in #ubuntu is is wasn't gonna be futile ;)
[12:39:08] juski: s/is is/if it
[12:39:41] juski: *might* be worth a try though
[12:40:45] sebrock: all things at boot start as root does it not?
[12:44:13] juski: you know this lcdproc stuff – for it to work it doesn't depend on something else being run first does it? similar to how serial port lirc receivers need setserial to disable the port before using lirc_serial...
[12:44:44] juski: that's probably the only likely reason the init script isn't doing its thing- has to be something like that
[12:46:18] sebrock: I've tried to put it in rc.local but it failes aswell
[12:46:47] sebrock: well, it depends on the lirc_imon module to be loaded
[12:47:23] sebrock: with the myth user I cant start it, permission denied, but with root I can start it right after boot
[12:47:58] sebrock: /dev/lcd0 says: crw-rw---- 1 root root 180, 144 2007-07–01 14:05 /dev/lcd0
[12:48:03] juski: so what's loading the lirc_imon module?
[12:48:21] juski: and is lirc a dependency as well?
[12:48:38] juski: maybe lirc is being started _after_ lcdproc by some weird quirk
[12:50:39] juski: anyway you know you've got to be rooty to start/stop/restart init scripts ;)
[12:52:12] sebrock: I put lirc_imon into /etc/modules
[12:52:35] sebrock: yeah but boot is done by root?
[12:54:00] juski: well yeah usually as far as I know. I just take it for granted that init scripts will work
[12:54:56] juski: if the init script doesn't work on its own at boot time but works fine when you run it manually just after booting, then I reckon it's a safe bet that something the init script depends on hasn't started or hasn't yet happened
[12:55:25] sebrock: I'll check the script again
[12:56:04] sebrock: $syslog $local_fs $network $remote_fs

[13:02:14] juski: are there any logging options you can enable in the script to find out why it's failing?
[13:02:29] rooaus: sebrock: Does your script use the full path, maybe the path isn't fully configured when init runs?
[13:05:31] psofa: can anyone guess why cant my damn mythbox autoexpire old recordings? it seems to just delete when its full
[13:05:40] sebrock: rooaus what do you mean?
[13:05:42] psofa: backend says 2007-07–01 16:04:47.013 AutoExpire: ExpireLiveTV(10000)
[13:05:42] psofa: 2007-07–01 16:04:47.013 AutoExpire: FillDBOrdered: Adding Short LiveTV programs in starttime order
[13:05:42] psofa: 2007-07–01 16:04:47.015 AutoExpire: SendDeleteMessages. Nothing to expire.
[13:05:59] sebrock: it works to simply run "LCDd" as root directly after boot
[13:07:59] rooaus: sebrock: Bash sets the path when you login for you, so "LCDd" just works. But maybe the path environment variable isn't set during the boot process and the shell can't find LCDd.
[13:09:20] rooaus: Try typing "which LCDd" and see where the executable is installed, then use this in your script. eg "/usr/sbin/LCDd"
[13:12:28] sebrock: hm ok
[13:13:05] rooaus: Probably a long shot but worth checking.
[13:13:21] sebrock: I'll try it

[13:17:30] psofa: uhm
[13:17:40] psofa: Select * from recorded works fine
[13:17:45] rooaus: If that doesn't work try redirecting it's output to a log file, maybe something like "/usr/local/sbin/LCDd &> logfile". This will redirect stderr AND stdout to the logfile
[13:17:55] psofa: but when itried the exact query that the backend uses
[13:18:04] psofa: ERROR 1194 (HY000): Table 'recorded' is marked as crashed and should be repaired

[15:25:34] juski: let's *not* laugh at the saps who buy & sell gold plated optical leads again ;)
[15:25:37] Dagmar: bling bling, tacky is calling, will you accept the charges?
[15:26:13] sebrock: I know, but I'll have to wait until towmorrow anyhow
[15:26:43] justdave: when I do "s" for the program listings from livetv, it seems to get stuck in a loop; looks from appearance like it's crashing over and over again (screen flashes quickly then blank for a bit), except it doesn't actually crash.
[15:26:54] justdave: the only way I've found to get out of it once it starts doing that is to ssh in or switch to a different vt and kill mythfrontend and restart it
[15:27:07] justdave: if I run it from outside of livetv it works fine, only seems to loop like that if I run it from livetv
[15:27:18] justdave: http://pastebin.mozilla.org/112773 is the chunk of the log that keeps repeating over and over while it's looping
[15:27:30] justdave: anyone have any clues which of those messages is the actual problem? or what to do to help debug it?
[15:28:26] sebrock: otherwise I'm looking for a nice wired router... can't find anything on consumer level tho
[15:28:43] sebrock: ie gigabit and at least 100mbit WAN-LAN
[15:29:29] justdave: I just got a gigabit switch and put it behind a 100 Mbit linksys router
[15:29:43] justdave: seems the only way to get gigabit on the inside without paying a fortune

[15:36:21] Dagmar: sebrock: There's a reason you're not finding equipment like that
[15:36:33] sebrock: I guess there is no demand for it
[15:36:37] sebrock: everything is wireless nowadays
[15:36:49] sebrock: or what is your reason?
[15:36:51] Dagmar: No, there's no _need_ for it.
[15:37:19] Dagmar: Literally no one's home internet connection can even saturate a 10base-T link.
[15:37:37] Dagmar: Only the people who have FIOS (fiber) service get near that
[15:38:25] Dagmar: gigE on the back of a home router makes about as much sense as gold 42" spinners on a YUgo
[15:39:07] sebrock: you must be kidding... here in sweden the need for a router with higher throughput is pretty big
[15:39:21] Dagmar: Sure it is
[15:39:32] Dagmar: What kinda connection do you have?
[15:39:38] sebrock: alone where I live I think there are more fiber users than dsl
[15:39:43] sebrock: 100mbit fibre
[15:39:56] Dagmar: Then your service provider's equipment has a gigabit ethernet port on your side?
[15:40:08] Dagmar: THen 100base-T is as fast as you need to worry about
[15:40:23] sebrock: yes it is
[15:40:50] sebrock: but my router I use now only gives me about 1/3 of my max capacity
[15:41:26] sebrock: so what I would like is a gigabit router for LAN side and around 100mbit throughput from WAN
[15:41:35] sebrock: thats not too much to ask
[15:41:39] Dagmar: THat's pointless
[15:41:56] sebrock: ??
[15:42:34] Dagmar: Look, if your side of the equipment the ISP brought over to connect to the internet is 100base-T, then connecting somethign with a GigE port to it is a freaking waste of time
[15:42:45] sebrock: sight
[15:43:09] Dagmar: ....and either you can't do math, because 1/3 != 1/10, or the problem you're having is that 100base-T is faster than your _actual connection_ to the rest of the internet
[15:43:22] sebrock: look, if I connect my computer directly to the WAN port in my wall, I get about 92mbit down
[15:43:28] sebrock: with my router I get ~30
[15:43:31] sebrock: you get it?
[15:43:36] Dagmar: So your router sucks then
[15:43:40] Dagmar: Using gige will not fix that

[15:44:19] Dagmar: I work in a NOC where about half the cables are gige
[15:44:33] Dagmar: THen all you need is a gigabit ethernet switch
[15:44:54] Dagmar: Those run in the $100 range for small ones

[15:46:22] juski: a switch doesn't care about port forwarding
[15:46:26] Beirdo: a switch just passes data from port A to port B
[15:46:29] Dagmar: Beirdo: None that I've seen

[15:46:45] sebrock: :P
[15:46:49] mkrufky: Beirdo: i know of one... but you spent about $5000 after you have it all
[15:46:56] sebrock: and not a switch

[15:46:58] Beirdo: that's all it gives a damn about. The only possible difference is if it will do QoS prioritization
[15:47:08] Beirdo: mkrufky, yeah, hardly affordable
[15:47:13] sebrock: my god...
[15:47:17] mkrufky: certainly not for the end user
[15:47:18] Dagmar: A router that does GigE is going to run you _multiple_ hundreds of dollars
[15:47:45] mkrufky: we have it in my office, though.... it's a router and it has an extension where you can add a gige switch to it.... we're only using it as a router, though
[15:47:53] sebrock: Dagmar nope
[15:47:55] Dagmar: For that instance, you are far better off buying a motherboard with two onboard GigE NIC chipsets and building one.

[15:49:20] Dagmar: It's prices are _not_ appropriate for the home.
[15:49:38] Beirdo: sebrock, so buy a damned 100mbit router and a gigabit switch

[15:49:42] Beirdo: and stop being silly
[15:49:44] anykey_: sebrock: what you want is a router _and_ a switch, but not in the same device
[15:50:24] Dagmar: The amount of CPU you get in an appliance device for ~$100-$200 isn't going to be spry enough to manage 1000base-T.
[15:50:32] sebrock: like this one: http://www.dlink.com/products/resource.asp?pi . . . 27&sec=1
[15:50:52] sebrock: not that I would buy dlink but thats an example
[15:51:40] anykey_: sebrock: go to a local store and ask them about what to get... this has nothing to do with mythtv...

[15:52:29] sebrock: Dagmar, it says that thin even has a gb WAN port

[18:35:35] Treito: setiings -> general or something, definitly in the frontend
[18:35:43] Treito: MrMist: feisty has ist
[18:35:47] MrMist: for automounting ?
[18:35:50] Treito: /s it
[18:35:57] at0m|c: MrMist: mine has a line like:
[18:36:00] Treito: for automounting with myth
[18:36:00] at0m|c: /dev/hde /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,atime,noauto,rw,dev,exec,suid 0 0
[18:36:19] Treito: at0m|c: that's nearly standard
[18:36:27] at0m|c: hm that's noauto, should be auto to auto mount
[18:36:39] at0m|c: to play auto, see setup in mythfrontend
[18:36:45] Treito: at0m|c: noauto is correct for hal/dbus
[18:36:54] at0m|c: Treito: OKI, SORRY
[18:36:58] at0m|c: fek caps
[18:36:59] Treito: np
[18:37:11] MrMist: it SHOULD be noauto ?
[18:37:24] Treito: MrMist: don't change your fstab
[18:37:32] MrMist: /dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
[18:37:37] Treito: when using mythfrontend: noauto
[18:37:48] MrMist: This is my line
[18:37:59] Dagmar: Just make sure you don't screw it up like MrMist did
[18:38:10] Treito: /dev/scd0? feisty? not a fresh install
[18:38:11] |SlicerDicer| (|SlicerDicer|!n=SlicerDi@71-222-195-225.albq.qwest.net) has joined #mythtv-users
[18:38:32] MrMist: Treito: sure is. It's a DVD drive. And it's XUbuntu, by the way
[18:38:35] Dagmar: Ack. Scratch that, I'm not used to seeing people try to use comma-delimited entries for fstype when 'auto' works so well
[18:38:53] Treito: MrMist: normally all new entries are by UUID
[18:39:29] MrMist: The HD's are by UUID
[18:39:32] Vantage13 (Vantage13!n=Vantage@www.toddcharron.com) has left #mythtv-users ("Kopete 0.10.2 : http://kopete.kde.org")

[18:39:39] Treito: yes
[18:39:45] Treito: damn, my fault
[18:39:56] kslater: with a pvr-150 what's the input number for coax?
[18:40:00] Dagmar: noobuntu
[18:40:01] Treito: dvd and uuid would be a little bit strange
[18:40:16] MrMist: Then I'm not wrong :)
[18:40:23] MrMist: Any flags I should enable?
[18:40:35] MrMist: should I put in "atime" or something ?
[18:40:36] Treito: no, don't touch fstab
[18:40:55] Treito: put your hands away
[18:40:57] MrMist: what do I do then ?
[18:41:13] Treito: enabling media-monitoring in the frontend
[18:41:25] Treito: that's all
[18:41:38] riddlebox (riddlebox!n=james@75-132-225-75.dhcp.stls.mo.charter.com) has quit (Remote closed the connection)
[18:41:47] Treito: it's very simple
[18:41:59] at0m|c: MrMist: u don't have a mount problem then if i have it correctly, it's just autoplay in mythfrontend setup that's disabled i think
[18:42:18] at0m|c: see mythfrontend > setup
[18:42:35] SiD3WiNDR: talking about autoplay, I have a dvd and when I insert it mythtv starts up the picture browser instead of mythdvd
[18:42:48] SiD3WiNDR: can I prioritise the dvd part somehow? ;)

[18:43:12] SiD3WiNDR: it=?
[18:43:27] SiD3WiNDR: I have media monitoring set up, and "upon dvd insertion" "start mythdvd"
[18:44:01] Treito: it=media monitoring
[18:44:14] Treito: you have to check the checkbox
[18:44:43] SiD3WiNDR: see above
[18:45:12] MrMist: Treito: at0m|c: Hmm.. I see.. should I de-install ivman also them ?
[18:45:14] MrMist: then
[18:45:21] Treito: of course
[18:45:47] at0m|c: MrMist: for that autoplay checkbox, see mythfrontend > setup/utilities > setup > 3th or 4th page there
[18:45:52] MrMist: Found it
[18:45:55] Treito: why this is in the feisty-repository?!
[18:45:57] at0m|c: cooles
[18:46:00] MrMist: trying to boot now
[18:46:30] MrMist: Why in the world isn't that setting enabled by default ?
[18:46:35] at0m|c: for smth else... in my mythtv-setup i see now tuner2 instead of tuner0 as initially. tv shows as black&white noise, playback of old recordings and divx works fine. just seems that the current setup doesn't talk to the right tuner (i have only one, pvr350)
[18:46:53] MrMist: Treito: Do you know where the CD's are mounted then ?
[18:46:53] at0m|c: MrMist: cos most people want it like that
[18:47:20] Treito: MrMist: normally /media
[18:48:23] MrMist: hmmm
[18:48:28] Treito: but you do not need to know the mountpoint for myth
[18:48:33] MrMist: hehe... now my DVD won't eject

[19:40:26] Tanthrix: Yah, for me whenever I rebooted I lost audio and had to do the unplug trick. Updating the driver fixed that for good.
