Question: I just barely upgraded to Ubuntu Edgy, and now occasionally when my computer boots up, the mythbackend doesn't seem to connect right with MySQL — it doesn't list any upcoming programs, etc. If I restart mythbackend it works fine. I'm running myth 0.20. Anyone know how to fix this?

I'm running compiz in FC6, and sometimes, like often, when I leave my computer I come back to everything running extremely slowly... The culprit? mythbackend. For an unknown reason it eats up about 95% of my cpu power. Anyone have any ideas why this is? It's only when I run compiz so I imagine it's come kind of conflict, but why is it only after I let the computer idle?

I've got an issue where mythtv can't connect to the master backend server. It asks me to check if it is running and that the IP address is correct in setup. I don't see anywhere in setup where it lists the IP. In any case, I did not change the default 127.0.0.1 (or the ports) in the knoppmyth setup. I did however elect to set up a static IP instead of using DHCP. Web access from inside mythth works fine. Any suggestions ?
