[00:00:00] IA-Outdoors: and how can I manually switch back since I can't get mythfrontend to come back up
[00:01:00] ** IA-Outdoors taps the mic **
[00:01:00] poop: IA: Mythtv is fragile
[00:01:00] IA-Outdoors: lol, agreed
[00:01:00] Agrajag-: IA-Outdoors: you want to change the settings.Theme value in the db
[00:01:00] IA-Outdoors: Agrajag-: what table?
[00:01:00] Agrajag-: ... settings
[00:02:00] poop: I think he set settings
[00:02:00] GreyFoxx: IA-Outdoors: I've seen myth segfault if the app/plugins tries to update a theme element that doesn't exist in the theme
[00:02:00] poop: s/set/said/
[00:02:00] GreyFoxx: olp;[
[00:02:00] GreyFoxx: lo;p['
[00:02:00] poop: Firewire is not so good with livetv though
[00:03:00] IA-Outdoors: Agrajag-: k, now I just need to know the set of installed themes (i.e. one I change it to)
[00:03:00] SlicerDicer: what a pleasant name poop
[00:04:00] IA-Outdoors: where do I find that?
[00:04:00] IA-Outdoors: or can I set it to 'default';
[00:05:00] poop: You know, it's really grown on me.
[00:05:00] GreyFoxx: IA-Outdoors: Just set it to blue or something. It's always there
[00:05:00] psofa: i installed the mythweather plugin from cvs and it wont show up in mythfrontend
[00:05:00] psofa: any ideas?
[00:06:00] IA-Outdoors: doesn't like 'blue'
[00:06:00] IA-Outdoors: nor 'default'
[00:06:00] GreyFoxx: What value are you setting exactly
[00:07:00] IA-Outdoors: just like I put em in quotes
[00:07:00] IA-Outdoors: e.g. blue and default
[00:07:00] IA-Outdoors: setting the 'Theme' record
[00:07:00] GreyFoxx: That's what I was getting at :)
[00:07:00] IA-Outdoors: sorry, gotcha
[00:07:00] IA-Outdoors: is it just reading a dir for a list of themes?
[00:08:00] GreyFoxx: psofa: I assume that the rest of myth was also installed from svn (not cvs)
[00:08:00] GreyFoxx: IA-Outdoors: yes
[00:08:00] IA-Outdoors: k, which dir ;-)
[00:08:00] GreyFoxx: If you installed from source, /usr/local/share/mythtv/themes
[00:08:00] psofa: GreyFoxx, you assume wrong
[00:08:00] psofa: :D
[00:09:00] GreyFoxx: psofa: So you are attempting to mix packages and manually compiled stuff ?
[00:09:00] psofa: yes you got it right
[00:09:00] psofa: :P
[00:09:00] GreyFoxx: and is that package a "package" of svn ?

[00:19:00] IA-Outdoors: "lirc_init failed for mythtv"...what's that about?
[00:19:00] IA-Outdoors: I want to disable lirc for now
[00:19:00] IA-Outdoors: not ready to get the remote working
[00:20:00] IA-Outdoors: "apparently /etc/iniit.d/lircd" stop isn't good enough

[00:21:00] [MUPPETS]Gonzo: is there a tool/script which does imdb lookups for all videos automatically?
[00:24:00] NightBird: there should be a way to remove videos that have been deleted off of the hd from the recorded shows..
[00:24:00] NightBird: because I have a bunch of videos that it claims to have, but no longer exsist on the hd.
[00:25:00] Chutt: don't delete stuff out from under it, then.
[00:25:00] ccase: i think if you going into setup->video it'll clear out the db
[00:25:00] NightBird: yes, well, when my hd is completely full, myth doesn't start up
[00:25:00] Chutt: sure it does.
[00:26:00] NightBird: ccase, is that of all videos, or just of the ones that aren't on disk?
[00:26:00] NightBird: Chutt, mine hasn't
[00:26:00] Chutt: and all you have to do is turn on autoexpire, and your harddrive won't fill up.
[00:26:00] ccase: nightbird, the ones that are no longer there
[00:26:00] Chutt: <shrug>
[00:26:00] NightBird: ccase, ok, I'll try that
[00:26:00] Chutt: if you delete things manually, you have to delete things manually from the db.
[00:27:00] NightBird: Chutt, yes, I wouldn't do it manually, however I have the problem of it not starting up, and often times I move them off disk to transcode, but then I end up just deleting it off of the other computer as well

[00:53:00] Aneurysm9: cx25840 and ivtv tell me they can't open their respective firmware files and hotplug's firmware.agent starts eating up all my cpu time

[02:04:00] pookSter: can you start recording and watch it that way?
[02:05:00] \Grooby\_: pookster, did you have to merge your dvb scan channels with the zap2it guide?
[02:05:00] \Grooby\_: or you don't use zap2it guide
[02:05:00] poop: My athlon64 3000+ can't manage 720p realtime from firewire :(
[02:05:00] ccase: In mythsetup, i basically selected it as a dvb card using the default settings. Then setup the guide data to get local broadcast channels (made sure to select dtv channels only) then connected then connected them together. ran mythfilldatabase, started the backend then tried watching it on the frontend
[02:06:00] pookSter: sorry, computer is 1/2 locked up...have to reboot

[02:28:00] ccase: okay as far as mythdvd is concerned, with the default setup, q should exit
[02:29:00] ccase: maybe your window manager isn't putting mplayer in control, therefore the inputs are being sent to it
[02:29:00] IA-Outdoors: evilwm

[04:25:00] GreyFoxx: Weezey: Well unused ram ends up used by the kernel for file system buffers so that's always agood thing.

[04:35:00] Weezey: I need a kid
[04:35:00] GreyFoxx: Weezey: 19 months, last "vacation" before that was time off for a funeral,
[04:35:00] GreyFoxx: Weezey: hehe
[04:35:00] GreyFoxx: I would rather stay home with my daughter than go back to work. I love it :)
[04:36:00] Weezey: I'm totally a family man
[04:36:00] Weezey: my gf is nowhere near ready to have kids
[04:36:00] Weezey: even if we got married next week
[04:36:00] GreyFoxx: Well to be honest in general I disliked kids, and if it hadn';t been for the accidental pregnancy I would have been happy to neve rhave any
[04:36:00] poop: lucky you
[04:37:00] GreyFoxx: but now that I have my daughter I can't imagine like without her
[04:37:00] GreyFoxx: like/life
[04:37:00] GreyFoxx: But definately no more kids in my future. I'm happy with 1 :)
[04:37:00] Weezey: hehe
[04:38:00] Weezey: my issue is, she wants to wait until we're ready or some shit
[04:38:00] IA-Outdoors: anybody here have dvd ripping working?
[04:38:00] Weezey: I'm thinking, that by the time she wants to have kids, it's going to be some whole issue
[04:38:00] GeekZoid: can dvdauthor use .vob files
[04:38:00] GeekZoid: to a dvd file
[04:38:00] Weezey: I'd really rather let it just happen if it's going to happen;
[04:38:00] GeekZoid: so if i used any2vob..
[04:39:00] IA-Outdoors: I'd like to get the DVD ripper settings if anybody has a moment
[04:39:00] IA-Outdoors: particularl "Title Playing Command"
[04:39:00] GreyFoxx: I think I ripped one dvd once when the ability was first added. Haven't touched it since
[04:41:00] IA-Outdoors: GreyFoxx: do you copy DVD's? If so how are you doing that then?
[04:41:00] GreyFoxx: I don't
[04:41:00] IA-Outdoors: k
[04:41:00] IA-Outdoors: also, does myth support burning video?
[04:41:00] GreyFoxx: and if I did, I'd likely be doing it with cat /dev/dvd > file.iso  :)
[04:42:00] IA-Outdoors: yeah, I hear you...which is ok unless you are down to only a remote like I hope to be
[04:42:00] ** GreyFoxx heads to bed **
[04:44:00] ccase: anyone know what skipping audio indicates?
[04:44:00] ccase: it's constant like every 1/2 second
[04:45:00] IA-Outdoors: ah, yeah,...can't burn DVD's with myth yet
[04:45:00] IA-Outdoors: hrm, no biggy I guess

[05:17:00] dev-: here's an odd question... put up this slavebackened the other day, in mythweb it adds the storage of the slavebackend to the storage of the masterbackened, combining the 2 in "total space available"... if the masterbackend runs out of space will it start saving recordings to the drive of the slavebackend?

[05:22:00] poop: lame
[05:22:00] Krazylegz: poop: My zap2it account has multiple listings?
[05:22:00] poop: Krazy: It tells me "foo has already been selected" when I try
[05:23:00] Krazylegz: Weird. I definitely setup three different lineups the other day. I just moved.
[05:23:00] poop: I need one for HD firewire capture and one for regular analog

[05:33:00] Krazylegz: Maybe I'm confused about what you're trying to do.
[05:34:00] poop: Krazy: I need a channel profile (wherever) that just has HD channels, which only occur in the Digital lineup for my area
[05:34:00] poop: I also need another Digital profile for analog capture
[05:34:00] Krazylegz: So, you can setup a lineup and then delete the channels you don't want?

[15:29:00] simcop2387: GreyFoxx: http://pastebin.ca/29963 a little script that properly uses tcrequant, lame and toolame (and mplex) to shrink the size of an mpeg to ~50% of its original size
[15:29:00] simcop2387: the video gets a bit blockier but it isn't too bad (for me anyway)
[15:30:00] simcop2387: i ought to find a simple way to also do resizing too to reduce the file size, i want it able to do it all to mpeg2 files, :) use it to cram 40 episodes onto a video dvd
[15:31:00] webbnetsys: GreyFoxx: thanks
[15:32:00] simcop2387: i've also got a script that scans your mythtv recordings directory for older files (24 hours or more in my case) and then runs that on them (which will currently exit after 3 hours too that'll be configurable so it'll only run during a certain time period)
[15:32:00] simcop2387: it takes ~10–15 minutes per hour of video for me
[15:36:00] simcop2387: it took me forever to realize tcrequant needs the video stream only and not the whole container
