[11:10:43] stuarta: well i've added a robots.txt to block the bot that seems to be hitting smolt the most
[11:10:52] stuarta: hopefully in a week or two that'll stabilize it
[11:19:00] stuarta: yes it can take them up to 2 weeks before they get the hint through robots.txt

[12:13:45] stuarta: sigh, the qt5 headers live at different locations on debian and fedora
[12:14:12] hampton: Is that the issue with the cppcheck run?
[12:16:10] stuarta: yep
[12:16:34] stuarta: on the upside a quick `pkg-config --cflags Qt5Core` returns the right info
[12:17:53] hampton: I removed the three '/usr/include' lines from includes.txt locally because cppcheck was only giving me three or four errors. With them gone, I saw results similar to what the builder saw.
[12:20:30] hampton: Building the IGNORE_DIRS variable at runtime is also clearly broken. My Fedora system ends up running cppcheck on 869 files, while last nights build ran on 3387 files.
[12:22:39] hampton: Looks like that 'find' should work. SOURCE_DIR is defined.
[12:25:20] Spicy-Rabbit (Spicy-Rabbit!~Jordack@75-151-31-172-Michigan.hfc.comcastbusiness.net) has joined #mythtv
[12:30:38] stuarta: right, pushed a change for that
[12:30:52] stuarta: lets see if the build works now
[12:31:36] stuarta: we will know in ~2.5hrs
[12:31:41] stuarta: sigh
[12:32:16] hampton: 1.5hrs if it worked. :-)
[12:32:25] ooshlablu (ooshlablu!~ooshlablu@2601:18d:4600:5f31:91ef:7821:9310:efdc) has quit (Remote host closed the connection)
[12:33:29] stuarta: takes my backend ~2.5 and that's the one which runs the job
[12:34:32] hampton: Ah. The buildbot took 1.5 yesterday before my change, and 2.5 after my change.
[12:35:11] stuarta: pretty sure it'll work. i can see just the 2 lines i expected added to the "new" includes files
[12:36:24] hampton: I see your change for qt5. Any guess why the 'find' command isn't adding the external, etc, directories to the IGNORE_DIRS list?
[12:36:37] stuarta: slight overkill in that it includes /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore as well as /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5
[12:36:59] stuarta: but, it should do the right thing
[12:44:17] stuarta: hampton: lemme have a look at the find thing
[12:47:51] stuarta: hampton: does appear to be building up the right command line https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/B6wBD8AAVOBhk3nrGPNEOQ
[13:11:01] hampton: That looks right. I see '-i /home/buildslave/mythtv/cppcheck-master/source/mythtv/external so ffmpeg', et al, shouldn't be parsed.
[13:12:17] hampton: Both failed buildbot runs last night walked through all of the external code.
[13:12:37] ** hampton wonders if this is a relative path vs. absolute path sort of thing **
[13:19:24] stuarta: they failed because there was a warning dumped at the top of the xml output saying it couldn't find /usr/include/qt5
[13:19:32] stuarta: the actual cppcheck worked
[13:19:48] stuarta: but dumped invalid xml (because of the warning)
[13:20:00] stuarta: which the XML -> HTML converter barfed on
[13:21:16] stuarta: sigh, this time it timed out running cppcheck.
[13:21:25] stuarta: i'm going to let it do the overnight run instead
[13:21:33] stuarta: ECANTBEARSED
[13:43:40] hampton: I see that the actual cppcheck worked, but it processed 3387 files. It should be processing < 900 files once you exclude all the externals, moc files, etc.

[13:47:43] stuarta: bah, i'll kick it again and see what it does
[13:47:47] hampton: I have a one line change that will make all the paths relative if that would help.
[13:48:20] stuarta: lets see what happens
[13:50:04] stuarta: i *hope* the double include path isn't breaking it
[13:51:56] stuarta: it probably is, so i think i'll predictively make that change

[13:56:04] stuarta: still going to do 3387 files tho

[15:15:30] stuarta: that's pretty much what the f27 builder is
[15:15:38] stuarta: although it's obviously now on the beta
[15:17:35] stuarta: erm we can always use buildbots

[15:22:18] kisak (kisak!~kisak@unaffiliated/kisak) has left #mythtv ()
[15:42:41] hampton: I was going to say "pick two fedora releases", but it looks like we could use a new centos7 build slave. The current one has been MIA since July.
[15:44:18] hampton: The wiki says a 50G home will get you three builds. It appears the current centos7 slave was handling 5 builds. How much more disk would that need?
[15:44:55] stuarta: still fits in 50Gb
[15:45:09] ** stuarta wrote that wiki page **
[15:46:39] stuarta: hmm, all the buildslaves from jmcentee have been awol for a while
[15:47:08] stuarta: he did have them setup so they shutdown when they weren't needed, and started up when they were
[15:47:15] stuarta: wonder if that broke
[15:47:47] stuarta: hampton: re fedora releases, we officially "support" the non EOL'd releases
[15:48:00] stuarta: although our primary platform remains ubuntu lts
[15:48:16] stuarta: due to sheer numbers of users ~85% iirc
[15:48:43] ** hampton is a dyed in the wool Fedora user **
[15:48:54] stuarta: i have all sorts
[15:49:05] stuarta: mainly fedora these days
[15:49:06] hampton: Tried ubuntu for a couple of months and never could get used to the differences in administrative commands
[15:50:03] hampton: What would help most buildslave wise. Another centos7 slave? A rawhide slave for early detection of breakage?
[15:50:40] ** stuarta ponders **
[15:51:06] ** stuarta needs to drop the f24 buildser **
[15:51:09] stuarta: *builder

[16:02:52] jheizer: Especially if I clean up the TB of recordings I an no one else will ever actually watch.
[16:14:17] stuarta: hampton: probably a rawhide that's auto updated
[16:17:57] sphery (sphery!~mdean@mythtv/developer/sphery) has quit (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)
[16:20:16] hampton: ok. and a second one?
[16:34:52] peper03: stuarta: Do you have any local changes with respect to channel scanning? The only way I get the scanner to look at the Freesat-specific BAT is to make sure it adds in the PID in ScanStreamData::SetFreesatAdditionalSI
[16:35:11] peper03: And yet you saw them yesterday...
[16:35:36] stuarta: nope
[16:35:48] peper03: Hmm. Odd.
[16:36:07] stuarta: it's just dumping BAT as found on the normal PIDs. 0x11 IIRC
[16:37:47] peper03: Ah, hang on. I think I might know what's happening.
[16:37:54] peper03: Did you do a full scan?
[16:38:13] stuarta: nope. scan existing transports
[16:38:32] peper03: OK, that's probably enough. I've only been scanning a single transport.
[16:38:58] stuarta: yeah, a full scan is painful to setup
[16:39:13] peper03: The first transport you scan will detect that you're looking at Astra 2 and sets the flag, but that doesn't cause the Freesat PID to be looked at.
[16:39:36] peper03: That only happens the next time ScanStreamData::Reset is called.
[16:39:45] peper03: Which presumably will happen when it tunes to the second transport.
[16:40:03] stuarta: smells like a bug
[16:40:06] peper03: Yep.
[16:43:36] stuarta: hampton: will get back to you on buildslave number 2
[16:44:55] peper03: TransportStreamCount() in BouquetAssociationTable and NetworkInformationTable looks suspicious too. It returns "_ptrs.size() – 1". I think the "-1" is wrong.
[16:46:59] stuarta: hrm, just gunna fire up my ubuntu-testing box and it can impersonate jmcentee's builder for now
[16:47:12] stuarta: as the cppcheck build is running don't want to restart things now
[16:49:29] stuarta: hampton: i also recommend using the ansible playbook to setup the buildslave https://github.com/MythTV/ansible
[17:10:28] stuarta: ooo err, ubuntu 17.10 came out ~2 weeks ago. should have expected that
[17:10:43] stuarta: that'll explain why a few more people are upgrading to fixes/29

[21:14:52] stuarta: ah, in the buildbot stuff
[21:15:14] hampton: Yes. Just figured it out about 10 minutes ago. Rawhide doesn't install yum, only dnf. Installing yum get's me past that error in the playbook. The only other thing I hit was a missing python2-libselinux.
[21:15:40] stuarta: right, patches welcome for that
[21:16:17] stuarta: i've clearly not updated the buildslave role for dnf
[21:17:21] stuarta: should be able to hook on ansible_pkg_mgr == "dnf"
