[14:11:21] warpme: dekarl: regarding #12809: it will be good to have this code in offical myth codebase. I’m using it since many months – without any issues. It is really nice enhacement.
[14:13:04] dekarl: warpme: my intention was to find the feature in your minimyth2 stash that adds the two new options / translatable strings and get them in before 29.0
[14:13:48] dekarl: but the patch was a bit confusing to me
[14:16:33] dekarl: dizygoth, maybe just merge it?
[14:20:14] anykey_: dekarl: yes
[14:22:29] dekarl: maybe it starts streaming in the middle of sections instead of the beginning

[14:42:45] warpme: dekarl: I’m wonder: did you see noticable buttonlist UI lag after https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/commit/d8262 . . . 34e76638f536 on slow machines like Atom is it really noticable (I’m estimating 150–200msec). reverting it make me realy enjoying snappy UI again.

[16:47:54] dekarl: warpme: Hmm, I can update my minimyth frontend, or is it backed up already in the latest build? (I'm not really into the frontend UI side. Maybe some kind of cache / pre-computing something helps?)
[17:00:08] warpme: dekarl: I uploaded latest mm2 master. it has latest myth code (r334) + removed d82629a4dfe6d8b2baa86aa7e71b34e76638f536. Regarding „cache / pre-computing”: I’m doing simple coparative test: master r334 with and without d82629a4dfe6d8b2baa86aa7e71b34e76638f536. Difference is clear: with this commit user perception is like playing with system which is doing something in background (as 0.1..0.2sec lag between pressing remote to buttonlis
[17:00:09] warpme: reaction is similiar to heavy loaded system where priority boost speeds-up UI responsitivity). On i5 NUC it is practically without lag. but on Atom it is clearly annoying….

[17:55:59] dekarl: lets mention it on the list for wider exposure
[17:57:40] warpme: dekarl: I’m wonder what is reason for https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/blame/master . . . ta.cpp#L1165 I played little with pull#103. Commenting L1165 + pull103 gives me really nice working metadat lookup for multiple different movies with the same title. example „Passengers” (2 movies: 2008 and 2016) or „Ciało” (2004 & 2016). Adding Year as „Passengers (2016)” works 100% (I mean myth correctl
[17:57:40] warpme: finds and download metadata without asking user for selection).
[17:58:39] warpme: dekarl: thx for posting on dev-list!
[17:59:36] warpme: dekarl: FYI: pull103 + commented L1165 – all are in latest mm2.

[20:25:09] dekarl: warpme, lots of small issues that are not handled... e.g. movies with a year in the name, tmdb having only one year on file when there are many corner cases with multiple relevant years. e.g. western release is years different from eastern release..
[20:25:20] dekarl: but since then tmdb allows multiple years per movie
[20:25:54] dekarl: maybe its time for someone who cares to revisit the topic and add some improvements, e.g. using title + year + duration to lock to the right movie
[20:27:12] dekarl: e.g in germany there's two sets of movies every christmas that tell grimm's tales. they release like two sets of six movies per year. every now and then they release the same story under the same title but completely unrelated movies
[20:27:15] dekarl: stuff like that
[20:30:44] dekarl: maybe we can add a special way to signal the director for movies, that helps a lot with removing false matches
[20:31:50] dekarl: I've added lots of aliases to directors to match the program guide to tmdb

[21:08:53] warpme: heh – HLS streaming is not working on master for me. I just bisected that it was working OK on r199 but NOK on r204. r201 is first commit with ffmpeg3.2 resync. Can somebody else verify – is HLS streaming working OK on current master? For me it produces all segment files with 0 size.
