[02:32:47] danielk22: QList is really a std::deque while std::list is a real doubly linked list. They have different O() behavior. While in most cases deque will be faster than a doubly linked list, there is one case where a linked list will do better and that is if you want to delete an element at various random locations within the list.
[02:33:34] danielk22: QList used to be a linked list in Qt3, which made things like QStringList::[i] O(n)

[13:09:59] dekarl1: stuartm, yes its quite a surprise to see 2 collisions in a set of 15 discs. but I understood that he was ripping disc 1, then disc 2, then a unrelated disc and the bad match was only on the third disc. But maybe he was trying disc 1, starting a new session then ripping disc 2 and the unrelated disc. who knows

[17:39:26] anykey_: sphery: no, not my comment, but as the comment says, this is only needed when scanning, not when tuning
[17:41:22] sphery: then it definitely sounds like it needs rewritten to go into the scanner instead of DVBStreamData

[19:24:13] danielk22: The problem is that the provider isn't complying with the DVB standard. Any workaround for that should have zero impact on compliant systems.

[20:07:21] dekarl: danielk22: I'm not sure... from TR 101 211 V1.9.1 (DVB-SI) point 4.1.1 b) "At some transitions of broadcast delivery system boundaries, the NIT carried in a TS is allowed to describe an earlier network in the broadcast chain. A different mechanism has to be selected by the IRD to obtain the relevant tuning information for the actual delivery system." NorDig specifies the solution from #7486 as mandatory
[20:07:21] ** MythLogBot http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/7486 **
[20:07:43] dekarl: But I'm with you on the "it should work and not break other compliant systems" ;)
[20:25:03] danielk22: Heh, it's that latter point which is most important. It seems 4.1.1b is a just concession to the reality on the ground...

[21:18:42] stuartm: when I tested the patch, not only did it not work for me, it inserted bogus multiplex entries
[21:22:58] dekarl: danielk22: the logic should go into ChannelScanSM::HandleNIT and ChannelScanSM::HandleNITo?
[21:24:19] dekarl: stuartm: in which way bogus? did it write "other" frequencies over good multiplexes?
[21:26:42] Steve-Goodey (Steve-Goodey!~steve@host86-129-35-147.range86-129.btcentralplus.com) has quit (Quit: Konversation terminated!)
[21:26:47] stuartm: dekarl: quoting myself from the ticket "Scanning here I get two multiplexes inserted for every freq, one with the correct networkid and one without any networkid, none with the networkid I specified"
[21:27:45] dekarl: I see, but network_id means original_network_id in that case ;)
[21:31:46] stuartm: point being that it breaks scanning in the UK, which goes to the point made by danielk22 – "Any workaround for that should have zero impact on compliant systems."
[21:38:20] dekarl: point taken. I'll add it to my patchset. (hoping that now that scanning results in ONID/TSID being found it will not happen anymore, #10217)
