[00:06:32] GreyFoxx: Weird, it looks like the FE is writing the data to the SG on the backend but the backend is never triggering on the fact that it has bytesAvailable
[00:06:59] GreyFoxx: in 2 hours I can test and see if I can figure out what is failing

[01:23:44] markk: anyone know a quick route to getting the filesystem path for a storage group based myth:// type url ? I want to check if a video is local and use the local path for playback (if that makes sense)

[01:59:38] sphery: markk: I know this is 2 days late (and may be 2 dollars short), but regarding your t8qam64 issue, the original code for handling the DVB-T HDHRs was at http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/6874 (just not a lot of explanation along with it)--just in case it's useful in addition to what you've already gotten from danielk22/Nick
[02:02:51] sphery: Also, regarding the local vs remote path thing--at least when it comes to the recordings, we should be doing that already in ProgramInfo::GetPlaybackURL(). I'm not sure how MythVideo handles things, though.
[02:08:11] markk: sphery: thanks. re local v remote – mythvideo just passes through the myth:// url for playback. GetPlaybackURL is then only used for a recording (i.e. non-video). at the moment I'm writing a getvideoplaybackurl (it could obviously be changed at source, but I think we probably need equivalent url code for videos anyway).
[02:08:24] markk: currently – all video playback is streamed.
[02:08:42] markk: which hurts dvd and bluray performance on local boxes
[02:15:29] sphery: yeah, I keep planning to get around to moving the MainServer::GetFilesystemInfos() code into a lib, and having MythContext store that info so that we can use it to determine which file systems are local and remote and, eventually, make an informed decision about the most direct path to read a file from a given file system and get it to a frontend. That decision-making code could then be genericized to work with recordings or any other media ...
[02:15:35] sphery: ... (videos or--when they support streaming from the backend--music, gallery images, etc.). Maybe I'll bump that up on my TODO.
[02:47:22] taylorr: danielk22, Captain_Murdoch, markk: I'm now thinking the problem is with ffmpeg buffering packets – it seems like it buffers a bunch of packets and then uses all them and then fills the buffer again after it's empty
[02:48:44] taylorr: does this sound right to anyone?
[02:51:59] markk: taylorr: but that doesn't explain why direct playback is different (ie. over nfs)
[02:52:37] taylorr: markk: it's seems after more testing it behaves the same

[21:12:16] csnook: are there any known bugs that cause 1080i captures to playback in super-slow-mo, while not straining the CPU?
[21:12:35] csnook: (happens on all playback profiles, with or without transcode)
[21:20:38] danielk22: markk: Did you add your HDHR channels using the MythTV channel scanner? I have a HDHRChannel fix and a dbcheck.cpp update to clean up the DB, but I can't find how the channel scanner gets that modulation param.
[21:26:28] markk: danielk22: I think I originally scanned within mythtv (and then had to manually edit the modulation in the db)

[21:30:06] danielk22: k, thanks. The scanner may actually work correctly with the DVB-T HDHR after my HDHRChannel changes... Was there an online guide somewhere that told you about the DB modification? (I wonder if your the only person using the HDHR DVB-T..)

[21:34:32] danielk22: markk: Actually, it looks like a hack was introduced over a year ago to use "auto" whenever the modulation didn't match what the HDHR expected.. I think I may reintroduce that hack, even though it should be right now..
[21:35:16] danielk22: You must have set yours up before the hack was added.

[21:44:54] markk: danielk22: so if I set the modulation in the db to auto – it should just work?
