[00:58:26] arrrghhh: hey all. have some odd errors that seem to repeat everytime the autoexpire job runs (every 15 mins) – I rm'd some files manually and I think it is the cause. How can I clean it up?
[00:58:26] arrrghhh: E CoreContext mainserver.cpp:2694 (DoHandleDeleteRecording) ERROR when trying to delete file: GetPlaybackURL/UNABLE/TO/FIND/LOCAL/FILE/ON/nas/1091_20151121234500.mpg. File doesn't exist. Database metadata will not be removed.
[00:58:47] arrrghhh: do I have to manually remove the database metadata...?
[01:02:18] [R]: what i've done in the past

[10:22:46] scottwmcgregor: hey guys. I'm an American who recently moved to Germany and I'm trying to wrap my head around DVB-C frequency stuff with the new HD Homerun DVB-C tuner I bought (HDHR3–4DC). I can get it working/playing in the native HD Homerun software, but scanning in mythtv-setup on my backend gets me nowhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction to set up my backend correctly/manually?
[10:51:57] Jay2k1: hello and herzlich willkommen
[10:52:17] scottwmcgregor: danke schoen :)
[10:52:40] Jay2k1: i have no clue about HD homerun, but with my DVB-C PCI card, I had to use channel scan starting from a given transponder
[10:53:08] Jay2k1: i think i had to look up the data (frequencies, modulation and all that) at the website of my cable provider
[10:53:32] scottwmcgregor: is that using the dvb-apps utilities (scan/dvbscan)?
[10:54:53] Jay2k1: mmh no it was in mythtv-setup
[10:55:14] Jay2k1: i'm trying to find screenshots on the web
[10:55:47] scottwmcgregor: I think one of the problems I've run into is that doing a channel scan within mythtv-setup doesn't ever find anything... I have some of the specific frequency stuff (that I can pull from the HD Homerun software), but scanning within mythtv-setup always says "failed to find any new channels"
[10:55:57] Roklobotomy (Roklobotomy!~blah@ppp118-209-83-85.lns20.mel4.internode.on.net) has quit (Remote host closed the connection)
[10:56:17] scottwmcgregor: so in the HDHR software I can specify "eu-cable" but that option doesn't exist in mythtv-setup for me...
[10:56:42] scottwmcgregor: so I'm wondering if I just don't know how to point mythtv-setup to the right starting point frequency-wise...?
[10:58:08] Jay2k1: well that is exactly what i had to do
[10:58:13] Jay2k1: if i only remembered how
[10:58:40] ubuntuaddicted (ubuntuaddicted!~Ubu@2605:a000:bac4:6a00:64e7:ccf5:679d:923d) has quit (Ping timeout: 260 seconds)
[10:58:40] scottwmcgregor: lol
[10:58:41] Jay2k1: i think i could either do a full scan or a scan for a known transponder/frequency (where i then had to specify said frequency)
[10:58:43] Jay2k1: this is what i did
[10:58:48] scottwmcgregor: that makes total sense
[10:59:31] Jay2k1: ha
[10:59:33] Jay2k1: here we go

[10:59:41] Jay2k1: i even wrote a blog entry about it
[10:59:57] Jay2k1: in case i'd have to do it again at some point
[11:00:58] Jay2k1: again, that was for usage with a DVB-C card, since you're using a HD homerun ymmv
[11:01:37] scottwmcgregor: omg I'm on to something here
[11:01:44] scottwmcgregor: I think you may have solved this for me
[11:01:54] scottwmcgregor: excuse me while I frantically run around my house testing for a few minutes
[11:01:56] Jay2k1: \o/
[11:02:44] Jay2k1: i have to admit it's a somewhat confusing procedure. it's not really intuitive and it took me quite a while to figure it out
[11:03:16] Jay2k1: i mean why doesn't it just scan *all* the frequencies if you choose "full scan" anyway?

[21:49:49] justinh: cycled the box, and the UNCs all went away
[21:50:09] justinh: could be caps I guess
[21:50:53] justinh: maybe not. all the caps are aluminium SMD

[21:51:38] at0m: yea so are mine

[21:54:17] at0m: one of my cards known to be prone: http://imgur.com/uDbuspt
[21:54:52] at0m: anyhow, could be a cheap fix, and i'll forever regret if i don't try.
[21:55:11] justinh: ooo. Knew about cap plague for a long time but thought it only affected the non-SMD ones

[21:57:27] at0m: now that you mention, and i look at the wiki... it's these bigger ones http://imgur.com/oc4t23H

[21:58:37] justinh: hate to be caught in the no-mans land between dvb-t2 support in linux being decent and there still not being a decent streaming service with a unified front end for all shows
[21:59:08] justinh: by which I mean dvb-t2 tuners of the non-usb variety needing experimental drivers
[22:01:25] justinh: funny how a power cycle seems to clear it right up too.

[22:15:52] justinh: Think I might still have a couple of PCI cards in my garage if it comes down to replacing the tuner
[22:17:15] justinh: the thought of having to replace the tuners would mean having to replace the whole machine pretty much – so if that needed to happen I'd be tempted to use something non pc-based. BUT... looking around, even the alleged *best* currently available commercial DVR has a slow & clunky UI
[22:17:23] justinh: STILL

[22:21:05] justinh: oh wait.. wasn't there a silicondust triple tuner network thing coming a while back?
[22:24:36] justinh: yup. except only 2 tuner. under a hundred quids. Cheaper than a new machine :)
[22:27:03] justinh: do the HDHR devices with multiple tuners stream a whole multiplex?
[22:28:14] justinh: seems most do. coool
