[03:25:53] bill6502: NoFinessin: 169.254.x.x ? That would be an IPv4 Link Local address. Please verify.
[03:27:17] NoFinessin: ya but in the code it's not excluded
[03:28:31] NoFinessin: i'm still having some other problem but i did get something working now that i've unplugged the directv box from the network

[03:32:01] bill6502: NoFinessin: do you build from source: if so, http://pastebin.com/MmJfcjtx
[03:34:24] NoFinessin: no, just using packages for ubuntu 14.04
[03:34:56] NoFinessin: the reason i upgraded was to fix a panasonic dlna issue in 0.27.1
[03:35:26] NoFinessin: well i was going to upgrade to see if it fixed, then this security improvement gave me problems
[03:36:22] NoFinessin: then i was going to build from source as a last resort to see if i could fix my issues and report back findings
[03:36:55] NoFinessin: is that code in unstable?
[03:38:41] bill6502: stuartm ^^^ http://pastebin.com/MmJfcjtx would fix the IPv4 and has a different method for IPv6

[03:38:50] NoFinessin: ya i also have a public ipv6 address on the box so i disabled that but then my tftp server quit working heh
[03:40:12] NoFinessin: if i build 0.28-pre then i would get this code?
[03:40:31] bill6502: NoFinessin: 0.27 is stable, 0.28-pre is billed as unstable, but I've been running on it for the last 2346 commits
[03:41:37] bill6502: yes, the fix is in both, so you could checkout master and build that, or (probably the safer choice) checkout fixes/0.27
[03:45:31] NoFinessin: thanks bill
[03:45:39] NoFinessin: does stuartm join here?

[20:12:41] dekarl: Roklobsta: re ONID vs NID in the channel_scan, that's a good question. Especially on australian DVB-T... historically both were the same, now it is split into the globally unique original_network_id that describes the origin of an emission and the network_id that describes the local (per country/medium) transport. (e.g. each set of frequencies and the channel setup on these frequencies will likely have a different network_id but share th
[20:13:22] Roklobsta: hi dekarl thanks. 3 chanels they are the same, 2 a different.
[20:13:24] dekarl: the australian special is, that the broadcasters don't use the ONID for australian DVB-T, and don't use their own ONID. But instead they use a locally assigned NID in place
[20:13:44] Roklobsta: so which one goes into dvb_multiplex?
[20:13:58] Roklobsta: onid or nid?
[20:14:13] dekarl: to make matters worse the orignal mother of all DVB softwares used the term network_id for the original_network_id and many others just copied from there (e.g. us, too)
[20:15:06] Roklobsta: i am trying onid at the moment
[20:15:11] dekarl: so the field is called network_id in dtv_multiplex, but you have to enter the original_network_id. which in the australian case comes from the network_id allocation. I find that very consufing :)
[20:15:22] Roklobsta: ah
[20:15:56] dekarl: here's the lists http://www.dvbservices.com/identifiers/network_id http://www.dvbservices.com/identifiers/original_network_id
[20:16:25] dekarl: basically you can just look at the original_network_id in the SDT of the transport and use that value
[20:16:53] Roklobsta: generally the big cities have ONID, then regional companies take big city feed and put their own local ads and TV, maybe different programs when sports is on. 95% country is the same as city for programming.
[20:16:59] dekarl: http://dvbsnoop.sourceforge.net/examples/example-sdt.html
[20:17:45] Roklobsta: so NID here is used jus to identify the local TV company/transmitter for EIT purposes?
[20:18:27] Roklobsta: i found a big table published by the govt here with all the NID ranges for all the transmitters/regions.
[20:18:32] dekarl: just out of curiosity is that US style syndication (local companies buying the national programme and adding local ads/news) or UK style regional variants (all the same company)
[20:19:14] dekarl: I've not looked in such great details. could be that you also use area_id but I doubt it
[20:19:43] Roklobsta: a mix of both. the regional companies tend to be national but deal with everything outside of the cities
[20:21:02] Roklobsta: i'd say more like US but only a handful of companies do the syndication. 2 govt channels though do national prgram with state based variations for news
[20:21:32] dekarl: here's my notes from when I tried to figure out what IDs to key the fixups on https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/10098
[20:22:57] Roklobsta: the problem at the moment is... why doesn't the data make it into dvb_multiplex after a scan now? it seems to be in channelscan_channel where I copied it from.
[20:23:29] Roklobsta: and why does w_scan show 0 for TSID and NID?
[20:25:00] Roklobsta: i put nid instead of onid last night and recordings went from OK to fail for one channel. so it's ONID for all of them now.
[20:25:51] Roklobsta: JYA has suggested that these problems come from new kernels. it seems weird that without an over API change the behaviour would change.
[20:26:06] Roklobsta: i don't have my old mythbuntu 12.04 system any more for a reference.

[20:29:53] dekarl: Roklobsta: I'm surprised that the data appears in the channel_scan. which of the many copies of ONID/TSID is filled? I'm going to peek at the selection logic, wondering if its picking the wrong copy of the data
[20:30:16] Roklobsta: well dvb_multiplex has NULL
[20:30:20] Roklobsta: or had
[20:30:25] Roklobsta: until i copied it
[20:30:46] Roklobsta: apart from one station
[20:31:18] dekarl: yes, that's what I'm wondering.. the scanner should copy the first filled field to dtv_multiplex
[20:32:41] Roklobsta: i did... delete all transports, full scan, accept ~30 new channels. ---> no lock.
[20:33:04] Roklobsta: apart from one station. looking at dvb_multiplex showed nid NULL apart from the one station.
[20:33:24] Roklobsta: i am happy to try the process again. I bet it works though.
[20:35:12] |PSU|: dekarl: thanks for the info! is that similar to what others are seeing?
