[03:40:26] jayvee`xmpp: I'm trying our AirPlay support in Mythfrontend. So far working well streaming from iTunes (both audio-only AirTunes, and video AirPlay are working).
[03:40:59] jayvee`xmpp: The first time, when I set it up, MythTV appeared both in iTunes' AirPlay speaker outputs, and also in the Sound preferences (which allows me to redirect *all* sound to MythTV, not just iTunes).
[03:41:23] jayvee`xmpp: However, subsequent launches, the MythTV AirPlay device no longer appears in Sound preferences. Is there some weird voodoo I need to do to get it going?
[03:42:40] jayvee`xmpp: I've been reading that there are weirdities with AirPlay and IPv6. For the record, this box is fully IPv6-enabled, although I've been hacking on avahi-daemon.conf and I've tried both with only A's over IPv4, and only with AAAA's over IPv6. Both have exactly the same behaviour.
[03:43:59] jayvee`xmpp: Also not a binding issues — I can telnet to the IPv4 and IPv6 address on port 5000 just fine and dandy.

I have a ffmepg script that takes screen shots of the media at points divied by 10. which I use for a sperate player that needs them. but seems like 1) myth thinks that these screenshots (foo_01.tmb) are movies and floods my video libary and also makes it so that there is no fanart comming from myth what to do ?

[15:01:58] Plugh: I had a hiccup with the settings table used by mythtv so the backend wasn't starting. In the process of fixing that I had occasion to look at the mythtv log file and discovered the backend isn't able to do the database dump on start up due to permissions.

[15:52:40] bill6502: Plugh: Remember that mythbackend is (should be) running as mythtv/mythtv. mythtv-setup was probably started as your own user. diff ~mythtv/.mythtv/mysql.txt and ~/.mythtv/mysql.txt.
[15:56:51] Plugh: I have a DBHostPing=no in my mysql.txt file and a bunch of extra config file lines. Other than that, they are the same. The password is not mythtv in my case but is the correct password.

[16:00:17] bill6502: Plugh: The only backup I do is out of cron. Could it be that you just did an upgrade, e.g. 0.24 to 0.25, which would have attempted to save an existing copy of the DB 1st?
[16:00:42] Plugh: no, I'm still on 0.24 and the last time mythtv made a backup was about a year ago.
