[00:32:07] ** sphery wonders how many users have 32-bit firefox + plugins and 64-bit MythTV (due to the "wonders" of multilib distros that claim to be 64-bit) **
[00:32:51] ** wagnerrp cant comprehend how someone would end up with 32-bit binaries on a 64-bit system **
[00:33:04] Captain_Murdoch: easy, they install 64-bit oracle
[00:33:25] Captain_Murdoch: the installer is 32-bit. ran into that issue again this week.
[00:33:26] wagnerrp: i mean you have to make significant effort to compile 32-bit software on a 64-bit system
[00:33:40] wagnerrp: theres that whole cross-compiler environment you have to set up
[00:34:01] sphery: but aren't some distros shipping 32-bit firefox, still, for "better plugin support"
[00:34:21] sphery: and if not, if the users have older distros, many will have that
[00:34:34] ** wagnerrp wonders how text can be shipped 32-bit **
[00:34:53] wagnerrp: ascii is only 8-bit
[00:35:05] sphery: firefox isn't ascii???
[00:35:20] sphery: oh, you mean the oracle installer

[00:40:13] sphery: Mandingo-Builder: more likely you either have old headers or you have them in a weird place

[01:18:30] Mandingo-Builder: sphery: i over looked it i do have /usr/include/linux/dvb/frontend.h
[01:18:46] sparkyjack: from the box that's running mythweb I can do the following

[01:20:01] sphery: I'm thinking you just need to upgrade to get DVB-S2 support

[01:22:26] Mandingo-Builder: its good
[01:22:49] sphery: Mandingo-Builder: it might be possible to make it work, but you'll likely have to edit configure directly--and MythTV isn't guaranteed to work when you're hacking things that way
[01:23:10] sphery: i.e. you'll have to fix the MythTV build system to use the non-system headers
[01:23:17] Mandingo-Builder: hmm

[01:25:13] sphery: sparkyjack: a file that starts out, "# Apache configuration directives for MythWeb."

[01:54:01] k-man: i encountered the error because i moved from .debs to self compiled and installed from svn. when i removed the .debs it removed the necessary apache config to make mythweb work and also removed php as it was non longer needed. so i had to reinstall php and follow the mythweb install instructions which were very good btw

[18:29:11] wagnerrp: digital is always preferred, but for cable, analog is often your only option
[18:29:21] Cubber: I have no box just cable into the card
[18:29:36] Cubber: it works on the old wintv-dbx card as well just using a splitter to feed the 2 cards
[18:29:40] Cubber: however that card does not work in mythtv
[18:29:45] esperegu: anyone knows if it is normal that dvb-s tunes to another frequency than you specify??

[18:32:16] Cubber: wagnerrp gotta run out for a bit, everything seems to be working cept the audio. Even if I run a cat /dev/video0 > foo.mpeg I get video but no sound off the HVR-1600
[18:33:30] Cubber: wagnerrp using gentoo, I also followed this guide loosely http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Hauppauge_HVR-1600#Common_Problems and see they mention something about a sound issue, I figured the script they show is the same as me cating to foo.mpeg then running mythtv which does not work

[18:44:16] esperegu: so yeah it has been restarted several times. but not after I enabled verbose
[18:44:47] esperegu: the thing is that the signal rate is not showing and that it is tuning to another frequency
[18:44:56] esperegu: both seem strange to me.
