[00:00:22] awilkins: Hi there. Just upgraded to HEAD of trunk and now playback only plays the audio, which is a bit sucky.

[00:03:11] Mattwj2006: to get my firewire to work...will I have to reinstall Knoppmyth?
[00:05:36] mchou: hmm...falming hot cheetos!
[00:06:07] xris: Mattwj2006: have you detected the stuff with plugreport, etc?
[00:06:53] Mattwj2006: no I just tried setting it up with mythtv-setup
[00:07:29] awilkins: Arrrrrrrgh
[00:07:38] xris: http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php
[00:07:46] xris: Mattwj2006: read the part about setting up firewire
[00:07:59] awilkins: It just plays back the audio stream ; the video is blank. No video, no OSD.
[00:08:17] awilkins: *!&^"!"$!"£"!" why do I *ever* upgrade.
[00:08:37] xris: you will of course have to replace the fedora-specific stuff like yum with debian stuff like apt.

[00:10:51] diamon: awilkins: Good question, why *did* you upgrade?
[00:10:52] sphing: or does anyone have any recommendations?
[00:11:09] awilkins: diamon: Because I'm an obsessive upgrader....
[00:11:15] sphing: xris: whos your cable provider
[00:11:20] awilkins: diamon: Doh.
[00:11:23] xris: sphing: comcast
[00:11:39] sphing: im moving in 2weeks... im pretty excited
[00:11:43] diamon: aka, you're into pain.  :) Yeah, I don't upgrade my MythTV systems anymore unless I need some specific feature or fix.
[00:12:51] xris: diamon: oh to be a normal user again.. I *have* to upgrade to keep up with development.

[00:13:30] awilkins: It was for the video stuff they merged into the trunk ; I'm always keen to get XvMC working (it's always been too unrealiable)
[00:13:35] kormoc: xris, well, you could have a second install to update and leave your primary one alone
[00:13:48] awilkins: Mind you, ffmpeg has been smoother recently.
[00:13:49] diamon: xris: I understand, and we appreciate the pain you good folks go through upgrading, fixing, and enhancing our beloved application!  :)
[00:13:59] sphing: kormoc for the save... round 2
[00:14:16] ** kormoc blinks **
[00:14:46] Mattwj2006: I think I am going to just try and reinstall...it will probably be easier anyways....plus there is nothing valuable on this thing anyways
[00:14:48] xris: kormoc: I could, but then I'd need more hardware and another firewire box for $10/month
[00:15:34] sphing: xris: $10/month UGH
[00:16:06] diamon: Ok, so I think I've got a decent asound.conf file to work with on my SB Live. When I put it in, do I need to do anything? Like, restart a service, reboot, etc? I've been rebooting just to be paranoid, but that's getting old.  :P
[00:16:45] kormoc: diamon, no, asound files are read on the start of any alsa playback
[00:16:56] xris: sphing: $5 for the second box and $5 for the hd upgrade
[00:17:15] diamon: kormoc: So I can just save it and run with it then?
[00:17:27] kormoc: diamon, aye
[00:18:13] topping_ is now known as topping
[00:20:36] diamon: Ok, to make sure I understand all my problems here, the reason I have no volume control for spdif is that spdif doesn't *get* volume control, the external amp is expected to do that work. Is that right?
[00:20:58] kormoc: that I wouldn't know :)

[00:26:39] diamon: kormoc: Still analog on TV myself, though I plan to go digital soon enough. I was just trying to get AC3 passthrough via SPDIF on my SB Live that led to this whole fun-filled festival. Some things were willing to do spdif output, others didn't even offer an option. Now I think I've got a spdif default-output asound.conf to work with, but I'm trying to verify that my device ID's match up with what the config file I got has...

[01:07:05] mchou: sphing: plenty but it's very locality dependent :)
[01:07:43] georgek: then the ethernet over 1394, whcih is the eth1394 module – heh, I had to look it up. Wasn't certain it was actually named that.
[01:07:45] stealth: how can i record if it isnt on the bus? it seems sa3250ch.c is looking at the wrong string or node or somthing on the 1394 bus.. because its deff there and wokring
[01:08:36] sphing: mchou: i ask, cause is it worth buying a box at ebay
[01:08:49] mchou: sphing: linky pls :)
[01:09:03] mchou: sphing: what's the box?
[01:09:07] sphing: dct6200

[01:11:04] mchou: sphing: but you're allowed to use your own cablecard compliant STB :)

[01:13:41] mchou: they might soon, but not yet
[01:14:05] sphing: :(
[01:14:12] sphing: i know xris gets hd content
[01:14:28] mchou: sphing: for $35 it's well worth it
[01:14:43] mchou: sphing: if that's a "buy it now" price
[01:14:59] sphing: well i cant buy now... i dont start for another 3 weeks.. so im broke for a while... but just curious
[01:15:02] mchou: if ppl are still gonna bid on it then forget it
[01:15:19] mchou: sphing: huh??
[01:15:29] mchou: broke for $35?
[01:15:47] sphing: not broke for $35.. broke after the price climbs cause it isnt buy it now

[01:16:25] sphing: mchou: i just graduated college... so im still living that mentality

[01:16:28] Mattwj2006: :-s
[01:16:32] sphing: $35 is like alot of beer
[01:16:57] georgek: Mattwj2006, do you have your kernel source in /usr/src/linux?
[01:17:27] Mattwj2006: actually the source is in /usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.15-chw-2/drivers/ieee1394
[01:17:55] georgek: do you have a symlink of /usr/src/linux pointing to your kernel source?
[01:18:19] Mattwj2006: yes
[01:18:37] georgek: then, in /usr/src/linux, configure the kernel with 'make menuconfig'
[01:19:02] Mattwj2006: ok
[01:19:19] georgek: the firewire 'stuff' is in Device Drivers -> IEEE 1394 (FireWire) support
[01:19:35] georgek: select Ethernet over 1394
[01:19:41] mchou: It would had been nice if you could use the eth connection on DCT6200 as cable modem

[01:20:33] mchou: that's one more piece of equipment I could have gotten rid off
[01:20:39] georgek: save and exit the kernel config, then run 'make modules_install'
[01:21:06] georgek: ...I also want to ask if this *is* the kernel tree that you used to build your current kernel?

[01:21:18] Mattwj2006: george if this works....I'll have to buy you a beer or something ;)
[01:21:35] Mattwj2006: is that it?
[01:22:04] georgek: yeah, since the only kernel config that was changed, was the inclusion of building a new module, you won't need to copy the new kernel image to your boot location or even reboot.
[01:22:51] Mattwj2006: which file? the vmlinux?
[01:22:52] Mattwj2006: :-s
[01:22:56] mchou: georgek: yeah, but he'd be missing some symbols if he crashed
[01:22:59] georgek: then you should be able to simply load the module with 'modprobe eth1394'
[01:23:22] georgek: mchou, why? for simply adding a module to be built?
[01:23:29] sphing: anyone have a list of cities that have/dont have 5c?
[01:23:35] georgek: ...provided that this IS the kernel tree that he built his current kernel with...
[01:23:50] mchou: georgek: no. just means he should make a new symbol map
[01:24:01] Mattwj2006: what file do I copy over?
[01:24:03] Mattwj2006: :-s
[01:24:21] Mattwj2006: vmlinux???

[01:25:52] sphing: ... does miami have 5c?
[01:25:56] Sebulba02: hey, anyone per chance know how to get the mythencode.pl script to accept files with spaces?
[01:26:08] Mattwj2006: I just have to say the power in Linux isn't only because it is free of cost....free of price....it is that there is such a great community of users :)
[01:26:12] mchou: sphing: now that's a much more sensible question :)
[01:26:13] Sebulba02: not a big perl person here..
[01:26:53] georgek: Mattwj2006, did the module load?

[01:29:14] georgek: Mattwj2006, I need to ask again, did you originally build your current kernel from that kernel tree?

[01:33:20] georgek: Mattwj2006, are you familliar with the other kernel configuration items? Since this was *not* your current kernel source, you'll need to install the resulting kenrel modules '/usr/src/linux/bzImage' and configure your boot loader to use it.

[01:35:14] diamon: Arrgh. If I use the device named 'digital' or 'digital-hw', it switches to 44100Hz sample rate, and it's supposed to be 48000. If I use spdif, it gets 48000 though. Gotta figure out WTF I did wrong here... Gotta be something silly.
[01:35:40] sphing: diamon: spdif output right?
[01:35:56] Mattwj2006: how would I go about doing that?
[01:36:27] georgek: I probably won't by much help with the specific knoppmyth stuff, as I'm a gentoo bigot... however I'd be very surprised if the distribution didn't have any howtos on the subject.
[01:36:38] diamon: sphing: Yep. Really, I should just run with the spdif interface, but I don't understand why it's offering a different sample rate on ALSA:digital.
[01:37:44] diamon: Hmmm, I wonder....
[01:37:46] sphing: diamon: whats the advantange?

[01:38:34] Mattwj2006: am I just doing a kernel install?
[01:38:34] diamon: s/rom/from
[01:38:45] sphing: ahh dvd's... cause i thought you meant like myth recordings
[01:39:07] diamon: Well, myth is supposed to play through it as well, it just won't be surround.
[01:39:16] sphing: mchou: does firewire record surround audio?
[01:39:29] georgek: Mattwj2006, yes, however you need to go through the kernel config for needed hardware support and such.
[01:39:33] mchou: sphing: yup
[01:39:46] Mattwj2006: okay thank you
[01:39:47] Mattwj2006: :)
[01:40:02] sphing: mchou: so you could record surround over firewire and play it back via spdif?
[01:40:05] mchou: sphing: it's all digital. so whatever the source has passes unmolested
[01:40:23] mchou: yup
[01:40:34] diamon: Ok, I see my issue here. I need to use hw:0,2 for spdif, but this thing assumes hw:0,0 for some odd reason.
[01:40:37] mchou: some hav 5.1
[01:41:02] mchou: some have* 5.1
[01:41:11] diamon: 0,0 only does 44100, so that covers that I think. Now to see if my theory is correct! I'm in a hurry; I must finish this to get to work on taking over the world!  :)

[03:17:09] kazan: defaultro: i don't have a TV capable of displaying it, no external roof antenna, i rent
[03:17:16] ** kazan <-- 22 year old **
[03:17:24] defaultro: Cardoe, gotcha
[03:17:25] AngryElf: nobody needs to record 4 streams at once
[03:17:29] kazan: AngryElf: wanna bet
[03:17:36] Cardoe: defaultro: there in lies the problem
[03:17:42] ** sphing_ points at Beirdo **
[03:17:44] kazan: AngryElf: my fiancee's schedules get all three encoders going at once
[03:17:49] Cardoe: defaultro: similar quality one with a DVI would be a Sony rather then the Sharp.
[03:17:50] sphing_ is now known as sphing
[03:17:51] defaultro: that's really tough, I didn't have VGA too but i did have a RGBHV input which was cool
[03:17:56] Cardoe: defaultro: and the Sony is like $600 more
[03:18:01] kazan: AngryElf: i want to be able to tune two channels >78 at a time
[03:18:03] Cardoe: RGBHV?
[03:18:09] defaultro: I returned my Sony and replaced it with Mitsubishi
[03:18:16] AngryElf: what's >78 have to do with it
[03:18:23] kazan: oh.. and I cannot afford a new TV this year – mythbox came from parts i already had – except for PVR500, remote, blaster, other minor things
[03:18:26] defaultro: I was really happy with Mitsu because it's film like
[03:18:27] ** kazan is getting married this year **
[03:18:33] ** kazan twitches **
[03:18:38] kazan: anyway
[03:18:43] Cardoe: kazan: women cost too much
[03:18:45] kazan: i'm going to head to bed, night all
[03:18:50] Cardoe: I learned that one when I was 21 and 22 too.
[03:18:54] kazan: hehe
[03:19:00] Cardoe: Now I just turned 24.
[03:19:07] defaultro: Cardoe, everytime I watch, especially House, when it's a very close shot, I just couldn't express how beautiful the quality is
[03:19:08] kazan is now known as Kazan|zzzzzzz
[03:19:14] Cardoe: And no girl. And happier for it.
[03:19:29] defaultro: Cardoe, I still wouldn't replace this RPTV with plasma's
[03:19:32] Cardoe: defaultro: wtf is a RGBHV connection? what video card puts it out?
[03:19:47] defaultro: RGBHV is on my MITS
[03:19:56] defaultro: and I used VGA out on my nvidia
[03:20:01] defaultro: I think I have a picture
[03:20:16] Cardoe: hrm
[03:20:17] Cardoe: converter?
[03:20:38] defaultro: no converter, http://restricted.dyndns.org/rgbhvport.jpg
[03:20:44] defaultro: it's direct connection
[03:20:45] scottder: anyone run into issues with passthrough in xine?
[03:20:55] defaultro: that's why i became so happy
[03:21:01] defaultro: no converter needed
[03:21:14] defaultro: and a lot of CRT projector experts in avsforum prefer RGBHV
[03:21:17] Cardoe: but VGA converts to it?
[03:21:19] defaultro: it's the best quality of all
[03:21:30] defaultro: there is no conversion, it's still VGA
[03:21:41] defaultro: here is the cable i;m using
[03:21:47] defaultro: it's called VGA to RGBHV
[03:21:56] defaultro: http://restricted.dyndns.org/tributaries.jpg
[03:22:05] Cardoe: I wonder if the sharp I want has that
[03:22:09] defaultro: i actually built one and it worked too
[03:22:11] scottder: I turned on passthorugh in xine and it complains of the sound card "being in use"
[03:22:25] defaultro: look at the first picture i posted again, make sure it says RGBHV
[03:22:48] sphing: defaultro: that turns any machine into an HD machine essentially no?
[03:22:51] defaultro: my Mitsubishi allows me to toggle between RGBHV and Component YPbPr in the menu
[03:23:01] defaultro: sphing, yes
[03:23:13] defaultro: http://restricted.dyndns.org/simon.jpg
[03:23:20] defaultro: that was last year shot
[03:23:44] sphing: where can i buy
[03:23:54] defaultro: this is the first rgbhv cable I built, http://restricted.dyndns.org/rgbhvcable_inaction.jpg
[03:24:30] defaultro: then I helped someone here last year with his FC3, and he was happy, so he shipped me those rgbhv cable i posted earlier

[03:25:51] defaultro: Cardoe, some HDTV have VGA input port
[03:26:02] AngryElf: now they're racing, three running, one at 80FPS, another at 60FPS, the third is slow, no surprise there though

[03:26:49] defaultro: but you have to make sure of the pin settings
[03:27:01] defaultro: but i think that's it
[03:27:13] defaultro: sphing, REMEMBER, it's not COMPONENT
[03:27:18] defaultro: Component is YPbPr
[03:27:19] AngryElf: what do you call the type of GUI that myth uses?
[03:27:31] sphing: defaultro: ahhi was thinking component
[03:27:38] defaultro: no no no
[03:27:45] defaultro: component has only 3 ports
[03:27:57] defaultro: rgbhv has hor sync and vert sync
[03:28:06] defaultro: that's why you need 5 cables
[03:28:23] sphing: err... i mean 5 cable
[03:28:34] defaultro: oops, sorry
[03:28:35] diamon: Could anyone drop me the default command line used for mplayer to play DVDs in MythTV 0.19? I've tried to use Xine instead and it's doing no better, so now I want to revert. There's no 'restore default' option though...
[03:28:37] defaultro: not 5 cables
[03:28:45] defaultro: but 5 end ports
[03:28:52] defaultro: just like you showed to us
[03:29:20] sphing: is it like the ones that come out of the cable box?
[03:29:29] defaultro: let me check
[03:29:42] defaultro: but the one i just connected the other day is just component
[03:29:47] defaultro: which is ypbpr
[03:30:11] defaultro: look at dvd players, they have component out
[03:30:27] defaultro: the cable when you buy it is always 3 colors
[03:30:44] AngryElf: diamon, what's wrong with xine
[03:30:47] defaultro: but there is a dvd player that has rgbhv out, i think it's momitsu
[03:30:50] defaultro: let me verify

[03:33:15] sphing: defaultro: yea i think you're right i just remember my parents dont have surround
[03:33:44] diamon: Menus are nice, I admit, but I can't get passthrough to work at all, and it doesn't use the keymapping I've tried to tell it to, and won't talk to my remote. I don't have enough patience to bother buggering with it anymore and just want mplayer back for now.
[03:33:46] sphing: defaultro: but thats fine, becuase that gives HD
[03:33:50] sphing: which is all i care about
[03:34:49] defaultro: but it has a DVI out though which you can connect to a vga port
[03:35:22] diamon: I finally got spdif output working in mythtv and mplayer, but Xine just won't do it. And I can't figure out the naming conventions they use for device names.
[03:35:24] defaultro: sphing, honestly, the quality of component vs rgbhv isn't really obvious at all
[03:35:36] defaultro: and even vs dvi, it's not obvious
[03:35:44] defaultro: i don't think you're missing something :)
[03:36:28] defaultro: and i have read battles where people claiming that hdmi is the god, but it's really hard to tell

[03:43:08] fiveiron: AngryElf: asks me for password... i enter "mythtv" and I'm in mysql

[03:43:38] defaultro: Cardoe, when I bought the 6600GT card, it came with 2 adapters, dvi to vga and vga to component

[04:48:30] jehuty: or something like that
[04:49:08] jehuty: so basically its something i have to change in the kernel, i have a hauppague wintv pvr 350 card btw

[04:52:06] Netslayer: emerge ivtv :-P.. jk, i've been there

[05:00:01] jehuty: Cardoe: yes what do u want me to edit in it
[05:01:50] jaymz-duck: the oddest thing is, it's outputting 720x576 of pixels, but reading the data as if it was 640x480 – libav debug info says that it's a 720x576 stream, i only found out when I enabled resize and got the 'resizing 640x480 -> 720x576' debug message

[13:26:47] sphing_: ha
[13:27:05] sphing_: well im gonna setup a dev box soon, so ill play with svn much more
[13:28:06] gardengnome: sphing_: some guy called paulh wrote it ;)
[13:28:25] sphing_ is now known as sphing
[13:28:51] gardengnome: Juski: well, yes. but with 0.20, it should be usable with a release. and it looks much more mature than mythburn to me.
[13:29:14] Juski: it's difficult not to jump up & down about it though – sounds nice
[13:29:17] gardengnome: and people could easily package it up o/
[13:29:21] gardengnome: Juski: yep.

[13:29:58] Juski: oh shite – not another thing that needs theming
[13:30:02] Juski: :-P
[13:30:13] gardengnome: it took it 2 hours, though, to turn some 90 minute recording into a DVD. mostly because it had to resize the mpeg2 video stream
[13:30:16] gardengnome: Juski: heh

[13:31:04] gardengnome: Juski: uh, is that a trick question? :)
[13:31:08] Juski: at highest quality, on a 2800 athlon with 1GB RAM, about 6 hours per hour
[13:31:41] sphing: so my p3–500 is out of the question?
[13:31:51] Juski: just sent an email bothering some directors to sign off my purchase order.
[13:31:53] Juski: time to hide

[13:33:35] gardengnome: sphing: but if you record in native DVD resolution, you should be good to go
[13:34:29] sphing: mythtranscode takes 13hrs/half hr

[13:42:07] gardengnome: sphing: ok. well, the new mpeg2 transcoder doesn't take that long – it's really fast. when i was playing with mythburn initially, i did so on my athlon 700 and it was reasonably fast. making a DVd would only take a few hours. so, if mytharchive doesn't have to resize your recordings, you should be fine even on a box as slow as yours
[13:42:44] sphing: no offense taken :)
[13:43:24] gardengnome: huh? if i meant to offend you, it'd have sounded differently :)

[15:18:10] BULLE: Tobbe: atleast that is what the gentoo docs tell me

[16:26:41] armand: if that fails, get a supervisor, and explain to him very nicely that you;re trying to use tivo

[17:35:34] hashbang: sixy: why do you need to?
[17:36:03] sixy: becase i have four frontends on one machine, and they all need different remote inputs

[17:47:39] sixy: sphing ive been trying that, but cat doesnt work with sockets, and im at a loss as to how else to do it
[17:47:46] sphing: irw
[17:49:42] sixy: greyfox that only works if your config file is /etc/lirc.conf
[17:49:57] GreyFoxx: So ?
[17:49:59] sixy: which mine isnt. its lirc0.conf....lirc3.conf
[17:50:43] GreyFoxx: So you can't just configure lirc to treat each remote as for a different program ?
[17:50:57] GreyFoxx: remote 1 for program blah, remote 2 for program moo , etc etc ?
[17:51:06] sixy: i need 4 diff config files to get each (identical) streamzap receiverto be specific to a certain screen

[17:51:59] sixy: (damn i cant type today :/ too much caffine)
[17:52:33] GreyFoxx: hehe IT's something I would expect to be possible lircwise with the right config and a small myth change to allow you to specify the lirc program registration name

[17:54:30] sixy: just seems as if it could be a much simpler solution as lirc is a bit of a pain to get working correctly with multiple usb remotes
[17:54:32] GreyFoxx: well, myth doesn't look at lircd.conf as far as I know
[17:54:33] AngryElf1: the fact that Newegg says that the PVR-500 is only for MCE is total BS, right?
[17:54:39] GreyFoxx: myth reads just the .lircrc file
[17:55:21] sixy: angry elf – there are two versions of the pvr-500
[17:55:25] kormoc: sixy, lirc.conf is just a list of remotes, I'm just courious as to what global options you have in there that are not sharable?
[17:55:46] kormoc: AngryElf, offically, every PVR is MCE only, the linux drivers are all unoffical
[17:55:50] GreyFoxx: One day I'll have to setup lirc with acouple remotes
[17:56:18] kormoc: sixy, they all work under linux, the MCE edition of the pvr-500 just doesn't come with a remote, as windows MCE comes with it for you.

[17:57:13] sixy: yes, exactly, although the hardware id is slightly different so installing windows non-mce drivers on a windows mce card has been an issue with some driver versions
[17:57:16] AngryElf1: nother easy question: when setting up a cable box over firewire do you have to have an IR blaster or can myth change the channel over the firewire
[17:57:29] sixy: because i currently have lirc1 appending remote 1 to all commands, lirc 2 appending remote 2 etc and the idea is that the different .lircrc files only pick up commands intended for them
[17:58:34] kormoc: sixy, can't you just setup the buttons as named button_remote1 and thus it should do the same, no?
[17:59:29] gardengnome: if the remotes have the same keycodes, that probably wouldn't work, right?
[17:59:42] sixy: well yes, but how is the lirc.conf file supposed to know which of the 4 identical recivers is which?
[18:00:13] GreyFoxx: How are they connected ?
[18:00:23] sixy: usb
[18:00:33] GreyFoxx: that could be a pain :)
[18:00:36] sixy: streamzap remote
[18:01:07] sixy: they all work, i just either need to redirect all outputs to /dev/lircd socket, or get myth to grab inputs from /dev/lird0...3
[18:01:24] sixy: either option is a pain in the butt, sadly
[18:01:44] sixy: unless you can use irw in some kind of script... but would that work?
[18:03:50] sphing: sixy: why do you have mutiple remotes?
[18:04:33] GreyFoxx: he's doing multiple frontends on a single machine

[18:08:22] GreyFoxx: I just launch 2 X servers, 1 per video card I had in there. IT worked great
[18:10:11] sixy: any idea about how to go about redirecting daemon socket output?
[18:10:23] kormoc: sixy, well yeah, likely you should use -novtswitch and make sure you have NoInt10 set to true in your xorg.conf
[18:10:53] sixy: i used the novtswitch, but i will check NoInt10
[18:11:32] sixy: infact i dont remember a NoInt10 – where should it be?

[18:14:20] kormoc: then it should be Option "UseInt10Module" "false"

[18:26:54] kormoc: donno, but it was a noticable speed difference
[18:27:18] sapbeast: damn
[18:28:37] sixy: hmmm done that and x still takes so much cpu the mouse barely works

[18:29:13] sixy: 7.0
[18:29:17] sixy: fc5
[18:30:13] kormoc: drat, cause 6.9/7.0 had a bunch of 'fixes' to how it handles multiple x servers, but yeah, that sucks. Might want to file a bug report with xorg and fedora
[18:31:10] GreyFoxx: Weird. Ihad 2 X servers on 2 Nvidia GFXMX440's using Xorg 6.9 with no extra cpu usage I was aware of
[18:31:19] sixy: yeah... im noticing that glx is failing so i will try reinstalling the drivers first
[18:32:02] kormoc: even with GLX failing, it should still work, as yeah, I've run multiple X servers with nvidia cards for years without any major issues like this.
[18:33:05] sixy: that is kind of what i thought. although i did the the drivers precompiled from atrpms which may have been a mistake it should still work

[23:08:34] LLyric: Doesn't say. status changed from new to closed, resolution set to duplicate, by anonymous
[23:08:56] LLyric: It's such a big bug, that I was positive that people would have noticed and fixed it, but I couldn't find it in trac
[23:09:23] Sebulba02: maybe anonymous just hates you! :)
[23:09:42] Juski: what bug?
[23:09:47] LLyric: Ahh, I must have submitted it twice, trying to add an attachment
[23:09:52] LLyric: The second one was marked dupe
[23:10:00] LLyric: http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/1803
[23:10:06] Juski: the one where some themes cause the menu stuff to vanish when opengl nice stuff is turned on?
[23:11:15] kormoc: LLyric, still shows as open here
[23:11:40] LLyric: kormoc: yeah, that one is, the accidental duplicdate (1804) was marked as duple
[23:11:42] LLyric: dupe
[23:12:16] xris: Juski: no luck with the invisible stuff?
[23:12:22] LLyric: Can anyone else reproduce that issue?
[23:12:47] Juski: xris: jams & I trashed out some ideas a while ago, but no joy
[23:12:52] LLyric: I could find the problem in the source, but it'd be quicker for someone who actually knew what they were doing :)
[23:12:58] Juski: it breaks Syth too
[23:13:18] xris: LLyric: mine's sort of like that.. not quite the same, though
[23:14:46] Juski: xris: what the problem seems to be is that with then opengl stuff turned on, the theme painter thingy is loading dbackground.png when it should be loading background.png
[23:15:00] xris: Juski: odd
[23:15:07] Juski: indeed
[23:15:24] Juski: that was what jams worked out

[23:15:52] Juski: I can't get my spare machine to stay up long enough to compile SVN until I replace the broken VGA card
[23:16:45] xris: ick
[23:16:46] Juski: anyway Chutt has a handle on it apparently – we're gonna have a background.xml file eventually & that will sort it out
[23:16:54] xris: ahh, cool
[23:17:27] Juski: with it not affecting core themes I dunno how much of a priority it'll be though
[23:17:37] rav3r: thanks
[23:17:46] rav3r: have a good nite

[23:17:52] xris: Juski: well, summer of code is taking a big toll on some of us devs, too
[23:18:10] Juski: rav3r: that wiki has sorted me out – I couldn't remember how to delete large blocks of shows til I read it all again
[23:18:21] xris: can't wait for google to just tell us how many slots we get, so we can get on with the whole thing
[23:18:34] Juski: xris: when does that happen?
[23:18:44] ** LLyric finds some suspicious code in the guidegrid.cpp, investigating **
[23:19:01] Juski: assume it'll be after the closing date for applications from students...
[23:22:08] xris: Juski: probably sometime early next week
[23:22:21] xris: closing date was tuesday morning
[23:22:36] xris: last tuesday evening for you
