[00:13:00] scottder: rav3r: yeah I am starting my build this weekend....
[00:13:00] scottder: what distro are you using?
[00:14:00] rav3r: fedora core 4

[00:18:00] laga: what's the problem? nvidia driver acting up?
[00:19:00] rav3r: yup, kormoc was helping me, but i guess he got busy
[00:19:00] rav3r: or tired of me :)
[00:20:00] rav3r: i'm getting "(EE) NVIDIA(0): The NVIDIA kernel module does not appear to be receiving..." on the log
[00:20:00] rav3r: when i try to start x
[00:21:00] rav3r: no wait, that's not the message
[00:21:00] rav3r: it's "Failed to initialize the nvidia kernal module"
[00:21:00] eiggirC: is it loaded ?
[00:22:00] eiggirC: does X work with the nv driver instead ?
[00:22:00] rav3r: lsmod shows it
[00:22:00] rav3r: change nvidia to nv?

[00:24:00] laga: check the X logs
[00:25:00] linxlaptop: ooh wow it does work, just a frequency issue
[00:25:00] rav3r: that's what i am looking at, and that's all i see
[00:25:00] red_fox: rav3r, have you upgraded the kernel or anything like that recently?
[00:26:00] rav3r: the ssh of the run from nvidia's site said something about the kernal
[00:26:00] red_fox: is this a fresh linux install then?
[00:26:00] linxlaptop: is it possible to build mythtv on amd64 ?
[00:26:00] laga: i'm currently working on the german mythmusic translation..there are weird strings in there. 'Blechy Blech Blah'
[00:26:00] red_fox: or has it worked in the past?
[00:26:00] rav3r: this is my first install of linux
[00:27:00] red_fox: so you haven't gotten nvidia to work yet?
[00:27:00] ** laga wonders if that could be a reference to puking **
[00:27:00] rav3r: no, it hasn't worked
[00:27:00] rav3r: i did once, but then i rebooted and it hasn't
[00:28:00] red_fox: hrm... you might try re-installing the nvidia stuff
[00:28:00] red_fox: nvidia-glx and nvidia-kernel
[00:28:00] rav3r: how do i do that?
[00:28:00] rav3r: run the ssh again?
[00:29:00] red_fox: FC4?
[00:29:00] rav3r: yup
[00:29:00] red_fox: I've never used it... but try the wilsonet guide http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php
[00:29:00] red_fox: it looks like he is using yum to install it
[00:30:00] rav3r: jarod's guide? that's what i started with
[00:30:00] rav3r: the yum
[00:30:00] rav3r: then i tried the direct wget nvidia
[00:31:00] red_fox: was yum not working?
[00:31:00] hadees (n=hadees@pdpc/supporter/sustaining/hadees) Quit (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[00:32:00] linxlaptop: has anyone got mythtv working on ubuntu amd64? getting a lot of broken dependencies when using apt-get, and compilation fails
[00:33:00] laga: compilation fails? why?
[00:33:00] linxlaptop: errors about casts losing precision
[00:33:00] rav3r: i did the yum, and it didn't work, so it was suggested i try the install from nvidia's site with wget
[00:33:00] rav3r: not right away, after several hours of tring to fix it
[00:33:00] red_fox: were you getting the same error with yum?
[00:34:00] kormoc: rav3r, did you reboot inbetween last try and this try?
[00:34:00] rav3r: yum now tells me "nothing to do" because i already did it i guess

[00:51:00] CygnusX1: hello. I just added a PVR-350 to an existing system with a PVR-150. I can now not change channels on the 150.

[01:07:00] xanderp: b_e_n_z: are you sure the mythtv-setup has the correct IP?
[01:07:00] b_e_n_z: xanderp, yes 127.0.0.1
[01:08:00] pac1 (n=pac1@user-0c2i4ft.cable.earthlink.net) Quit (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[01:08:00] xanderp: since that is the loopback address i am assuming you are using the same machine for front and backend

[01:08:00] xanderp: that was my next q.
[01:09:00] xanderp: networking enabled for mysql?
[01:09:00] b_e_n_z: xanderp, let me check...
[01:10:00] xanderp: you can try to use the mysql test you listed above but specify to connect to the machine at 127.0.0.1 (like it were a remote machine)
[01:11:00] rav3r: here is my conf http://www.wannarumble.com/x.conf
[01:11:00] rav3r: here is my log http://www.wannarumble.com/x.log
[01:11:00] rav3r: any ideas?
[01:12:00] xanderp: rav3r: it doesn't appear that your nvidia driver is loaded
[01:12:00] xanderp: lsmod
[01:14:00] Mayol: if i want do add custom switches to nuvexport? located the config file but dont really figured out the markup
[01:18:00] rav3r: lsmod returns nnvida
[01:18:00] b_e_n_z: xanderp, i am clueless, tried mysql -u mythtv -pmythtv -h 127.0.0.1 mythconverg... no problem... in /home/mythtv/.mythtv/mysql.txt the file has the same connect params but backend keeps saying access denied
[01:18:00] xanderp: b_e_n_z: hang on a sec
[01:20:00] xanderp: b_e_n_z: do you have any other mysql.txt files it could be using? I have on in /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt one in /usr/share/mythtv/mysql.txt and one in each of my users .mythtv folders in their home directories.
[01:21:00] Mayol: backend on a different machine?
[01:21:00] rav3r: if lsmod returns it, doesn that mean it's loaded?
[01:22:00] kormoc: yes
[01:22:00] b_e_n_z: xanderp, i think you are right... when i changed ~mythtv/.mythtv/mysql.txt info e.g. hostname to llhost and the backend still tries to connect to localhost
[01:22:00] rav3r: so if it returns it, it's loaded, so what's deal?
[01:22:00] kormoc: it can't talk to the device, that's the issue
[01:24:00] rav3r: im sorta at a loss for what to do next
[01:24:00] kormoc: what distro?
[01:24:00] rav3r: it did work once, so i know that it's connected
[01:24:00] rav3r: f4
[01:24:00] rav3r: fedora
[01:24:00] b_e_n_z: xanderp, thanks a lot!!! i changed /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt and now it connects
[01:25:00] xanderp: np
[01:25:00] xanderp: rav3r: is your kernel module binary or did you compile it?
[01:26:00] xanderp: (for nvidia that is)
[01:27:00] rav3r: hmmm, i installed with the gui
[01:27:00] Caveman (n=a@203-217-76-243.dyn.iinet.net.au) Quit (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[01:27:00] rav3r: and the ssh did something to the kernal i think
[01:27:00] xanderp: i have better luck with the download from their website and then install that one from the script. (uninstalling the one you already put in first)
[01:28:00] rav3r: i wget'd the run file and installed it
[01:28:00] xanderp: from nvidia yes?
[01:28:00] linxlaptop: status 1f | signal 0039 | snr ffff | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK <-- is this output from tzap good or bad ?
[01:28:00] rav3r: yes
[01:29:00] Mayol: if i want do add custom switches to nuvexport? located the config file but dont really figured out the markup
[01:29:00] xanderp: hmmm...
[01:30:00] Juski: linxlaptop: that's good
[01:30:00] rav3r: im mean, yea, it was from nvidia's site
[01:30:00] linxlaptop: Juski: ok thanks :)
[01:30:00] linxlaptop: woah – it compiled this time ! :)
[01:30:00] Juski: very good signal :)
[01:31:00] linxlaptop: Juski: it should be quite good – its a high gain wide band antenna, and just been putting cabling through the loft :) (well a few hours ago)
[01:32:00] Juski: fack. I've got a gig and a half of RAM in this machine, and I can't render video & photoshop at the same time :-/
[01:32:00] xanderp: rav3r: are you configured for dual-head?
[01:33:00] rav3r: the conf was given to me in this room, i think to allow the monitor out and svideo
[01:33:00] rav3r: the card has one monitor out, and svideo, and i have the intergrated video on the motherboard
[01:33:00] xanderp: try checking the lspci -v to see that the pci port addressing is correct
[01:35:00] rav3r: is there a way to page through that?
[01:35:00] xanderp: lspci -v |less
[01:35:00] rav3r: ok, what do i look for?
[01:36:00] xanderp: the addessing for the NVIDIA card
[01:36:00] laga: hiya Juski
[01:37:00] Juski: hi laga
[01:38:00] rav3r: i see 01:01.0 VGA ... nVidia Corp
[01:38:00] Juski: fscking great.. vegas 6.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close.. _again_
[01:39:00] laga: vegas 6.0 is a POS and will crash now, taking all your hard work with it.
[01:39:00] xanderp: rav3r: do you not have ANY working X sessions? if you commented out the dual screen parts and then took out the hard coded pci bus information you may get X to come up. (just as a test)
[01:39:00] Juski: got this huge DV AVI file (>16GB).. ffmpeg won't transcode it.. VLC refuses to.. mencoder doesn't like it... and Vegas 6.0 never liked it (and it made the file)
[01:39:00] Juski: laga: it crashes very gracefully & you can usually recover work
[01:40:00] rav3r: i haven't gotten x to work all day
[01:40:00] Juski: that's not the point. I need this file as MPEG2
[01:40:00] rav3r: i try that
[01:40:00] xanderp: rav3r: that is just a guess...
[01:40:00] laga: Juski: oh, that's very kind of it.
[01:40:00] Juski: won't even encode in Linux ffs.
[01:40:00] xanderp: you can rename your xorg.conf then to an auto-create to make a new one to test with generic settings
[01:41:00] rav3r: how do you auto-create it?
[01:41:00] Juski: xorgconfigure
[01:41:00] xanderp: or xorgconfig depending on the distro
[01:42:00] rav3r: can't find that command anywere
[01:42:00] Juski: if push comes to shove I can always put the avi on my xbox, play it & record it with my pvr card :-/
[01:42:00] linxlaptop: anyone know why I get this error? http://pastebin.ca/38862
[01:43:00] Juski: linxlaptop: mysql libs for Qt3 non existent?
[01:43:00] Juski: or wrong version of mysql
[01:44:00] linxlaptop: its not qt3 :)
[01:44:00] xanderp: rav3r: are you on console as root?
[01:44:00] linxlaptop: or is it ?
[01:44:00] Juski: linxlaptop: it's got to be qt3
[01:44:00] linxlaptop: is Qsql qt3 /
[01:44:00] rav3r: yes, i am root at the command line
[01:44:00] Juski: linxlaptop: what distro?
[01:44:00] linxlaptop: ubuntu amd64
[01:45:00] xanderp: locate xorgconf
[01:45:00] Juski: linxlaptop: haven't got my bongo box powered on right now (it's nice & quiet in here), and I can't remember the name of the thing
[01:45:00] Juski: so laga: feeling like the load has been lightened by the new moderator yet? ;-)
[01:46:00] linxlaptop: humm
[01:47:00] rav3r: locate returned nothing
[01:47:00] linxlaptop: libqt3-mt-mysql
[01:47:00] linxlaptop: :)
[01:47:00] linxlaptop: thanks Juski
[01:47:00] ** Juski briefly considers using tmpgenc **
[01:47:00] Juski: linxlaptop: that'd do it, if it was missing
[01:48:00] xanderp: rav3r: updatedb && locate xorgconf
[01:48:00] laga: xorg.conf rather
[01:48:00] laga: err, we are talking about the config file, right?
[01:48:00] xanderp: laga: no we are looking for xorgconfig
[01:48:00] rav3r: omg, i've been looking for that command to update the db

[01:49:00] xanderp: ??
[01:49:00] kormoc: xanderp, why would it be?
[01:49:00] xanderp: hmm it's on all my machines...
[01:50:00] xanderp: is that distro specific?
[01:50:00] rav3r: still not finding anyting
[01:50:00] xanderp: (i'm on gentoo)
[01:50:00] kormoc: xanderp, it's not on any of my gentoo machines
[01:50:00] Juski: some distros prolly include it by default & others don't
[01:50:00] kormoc: xanderp, unless you mean the configure util?
[01:51:00] kormoc: xanderp, which is xorgconfig
[01:51:00] xanderp: yes... xorgconfig

[01:52:00] xanderp: my locate finds 'parts' of names... thought they all did.
[01:52:00] xanderp: rav3r: did you try locate xorgconfig as well? or xorgconfigure ?

[02:02:00] Juski: or is the onboard video getting disabled?
[02:03:00] kormoc: jasta, okay, while it's running, did you get my message about the mythtv users meetup this sunday?

[02:07:00] rav3r: *blush*
[02:07:00] kormoc: hehe, gotcha
[02:07:00] Juski: laga: I almost forgot. I was print out an A3 size poster on the colour laser at work today (at hometime-ish) and this guy came over to ask me to put some printouts on his desk when they came out. the documents were only company profit & loss figures.. business critical stuff. I took copies for 'safe keeping'
[02:07:00] jasta: kormoc: did that last one not work?

[02:38:00] kormoc: markl, why do you say that? I use BOB quite well with xvmc, given BOB requires xvmc, it would be odd if it didn't work
[02:38:00] markl: they just work until you update your kernel, then have to spend all day getting things up to date
[02:38:00] laga: it doesn't always 'just work'
[02:38:00] laga: kormoc: bobdeint does not require xvmc.
[02:38:00] markl: kormoc: hi def content or ntsc or pal
[02:38:00] Juski: I can understand them not wanting to blow millions of development costs into a bonfire by releasing open source drivers though
[02:38:00] kormoc: laga, ahh, sorry, xv or xvmc
[02:39:00] markl: Juski: they are a hardware company, why would they care about driver source.
[02:39:00] laga: kormoc: hehe :). BTW, i found that the OSD looks best with xvmc + chromakey OSD. doesn't jitter then

[02:39:00] Juski: their cards wouldn't be worth shit without drivers.. maybe that's why
[02:39:00] markl: kormoc: right but they don't sell drivers, they sell hardware...
[02:40:00] xris: kormoc: stupid dish receiver didn't change channels
[02:40:00] kormoc: markl, part of your hardware cost goes to those drivers
[02:40:00] ole_schoola: let's see, we'll hire a bunch of hacks to scribble together a piece of glue, keep out all the willing volunteers from improving the products, and release it into the wild
[02:40:00] kormoc: markl, and if they open source them, ati could take a bunch of stuff for free, why should nvidia help out ati for example?
[02:40:00] kormoc: xris, crappy
[02:40:00] markl: kormoc: but they don't charge extra for them, seems silly not to let the linux community do the development for them
[02:40:00] markl: kormoc: so what kind of content do you use bob deinterlacing with
[02:40:00] markl: 1080i?
[02:41:00] kormoc: markl, seems to work fine iwth 1080i, ya
[02:41:00] markl: what kind of cpu
[02:41:00] kormoc: markl, xvmc works wonders with hdtv.
[02:41:00] kormoc: marcus2_, 2.4 ghz p4

[02:41:00] markl: kormoc: do you use vlc or mplayer, or just mythtv
[02:41:00] ole_schoola: is the B&W OSD issue resolved yet? still catching up on commits
[02:41:00] kormoc: with deinterlacing, and all taht jazz
[02:42:00] kormoc: markl, I use xvmc in myth, xine, and mplayer
[02:42:00] markl: kormoc: that is amazing, my 3.2 ghz box drops frames when deinterlacing 1080i content
[02:42:00] ole_schoola: markl: you shouldn't, needs some tuning i expect
[02:42:00] Kelerion: xvmc is still crashing X on me.. but no idea where to start... but it ain't a priority really.. libmpeg2 works fine and dandy :)
[02:42:00] markl: ole_schoola: what kind of tuning should i do?
[02:42:00] Todd: Im having trouble getting the ivtv install step with FC4.. anyone here have that working succesfully?
[02:43:00] kormoc: markl, my 5800, which I sold xris, could deinterlace 1080i with xvmc and only use 60% cpu usage
[02:43:00] laga: ole_schoola: take a look at ticket #512 and related discussions
[02:43:00] ole_schoola: markl: that's the million dollah question now ain't it?\
[02:43:00] markl: ole_schoola: heh yeah. i have been trying for about a year to get it to play back properly
[02:44:00] ole_schoola: i had it working rock solid for 8 months and then i had to fiddle with it....
[02:44:00] markl: kormoc: do you have a sample command line to use? i get the best results by using vlc and choosing bob or linear
[02:44:00] ole_schoola: finally got around to picking up proper HD hardware and doing it as right as i can
[02:44:00] markl: now is this deinterlacing to 60 fps or 30? if i go to 30 it works fine but not 60
[02:44:00] kormoc: markl, all my deinterlacing came from mythtv...
[02:44:00] ** kormoc ponders **
[02:44:00] kormoc: let me see what the frame rate of the recording is
[02:45:00] markl: 1080i is 60 fields, i need to have it convert that to 60 frames
[02:45:00] markl: rather than 30 frames which seems to be the most common way to do it
[02:45:00] kormoc: markl, 29.970 fps
[02:46:00] kormoc: VIDEO: MPEG2 1920x1080 (aspect 3) 29.970 fps 14200.0 kbps (1775.0 kbyte/s)

[08:25:00] wmealing_: maybe i'm missing something obvious
[08:25:00] wmealing_: i'm attempting to set this up for AU television
[08:25:00] wmealing_: i have attempted to configure the v4l device, i see snow atm
[08:26:00] wmealing_: i configured it to get the channel listings from the correct url, seems to work
[08:26:00] wmealing_: i see it grabbing the data
[08:26:00] wmealing_: through my transparent proxy
[08:26:00] wmealing_: but, in the "Channel editor"
[08:26:00] wmealing_: do i still have to tune the channels ?

[08:47:00] wmealing_: in /root/.mythtv/channels/ i see the 5 local channenls logo in png format
[08:47:00] sean33: "new channel" maybe
[08:48:00] sean33: run mythtv-setup

[08:48:00] wmealing_: except, i dont know what a "frequency id" is
[08:48:00] wmealing_: and.. finetune what.. i'm not getting an image to finetune.
[08:50:00] Juski: frequency id is the frequency id of the channel you want... you have to look it up or use another program (e.g. tv time) to find them out
[08:50:00] wmealing_: ok
[08:50:00] Juski: your TV setup screens might shed some light on them actually
[08:50:00] Juski: if it's already tuned into a bunch of channels

[09:29:00] sean33: opwn a console and manualy tune using ivtv-tune -f <frequency>
[09:29:00] sean33: when you get a signal write down the frequency
[09:29:00] kormoc: it's not a ivtv card.

[09:30:00] sean33: well thats how i did mine

[09:31:00] sean33: ok fair enough

[09:31:00] fryfrog: that isn't HD, is it?

[09:31:00] sean33: still cant work out why the avi file isnt shoing up in the video directory
[09:31:00] fryfrog: just "bttv" driver
[09:31:00] wmealing_: no
[09:32:00] kormoc: ahh, sorry
[09:32:00] fryfrog: you could try a simple tv proggie for testing in linux
[09:32:00] kormoc: most people mean HDTV when they say OTA
[09:32:00] fryfrog: like ummm, tvtime?
[09:32:00] kormoc: tvtime or xawtv
[09:32:00] fryfrog: ah, thats true
[09:32:00] fryfrog: but my guess would be that you simply didn't configure it right in myth and bind the channels right
[09:33:00] kormoc: wmealing_, tuner is done via the tuner parm to the bttv module
[09:33:00] fryfrog: but for a bttv card, it *should* get the right tuner
[09:33:00] fryfrog: unless its like some really newly released updated card or something
[09:34:00] wmealing_: nah.. old card.
[09:35:00] wmealing_: supposedly, some guy had it working on the mythtv hardware database.
[09:35:00] wmealing_: this same PCI id

[13:53:00] CygnusX1: Okay changing with ivtv-tune works. I note the following in mythbackend.log when trying to use Myth to change the tuner channel: CheckChannel failed. Please verify channel.
[13:54:00] CygnusX1: Ooops...and insted of listing a "48" for the channel, for example, it just lists ""
[13:55:00] Juski: is there anything in the freqid column for that channel?
[13:56:00] CygnusX1: Juski: Is that in capturecard table?
[13:57:00] Juski: CynusX1: no, in the channel table
[13:57:00] CygnusX1: Juski: the channel is "" :-)
[13:57:00] Juski: make sure both cards are set as 'mpeg2 encoder' types too
[13:58:00] Juski: the reason the pvr150 might have stopped working is that sometimes adding more devices changes the original device order around
[13:59:00] Juski: if the channel is "" then maybe it should have a proper name ;)
[13:59:00] CygnusX1: They are both listed as mpeg2. It definitely changed the order...the PVR-350 is now /dev/video0
[13:59:00] Juski: both using the same video source?

[14:06:00] Juski: could just be that the video source isn't linked to all the inputs on the pvr150 card.. dunno – just grabbing at straws now
[14:07:00] CygnusX1: Juski: I tried it using both tuner0 and tuner1--both produce output, strangely, but neither will tune
[14:08:00] Juski: I'm not suggesting you do this, but did you try deleting all your cards in mythtv-setup then putting them in again?
[14:09:00] CygnusX1: Juski: :-( not yet.

[15:49:00] laga: should save you some space with DVB

[22:31:00] buu: I'm really kind of unhappy with mythvideo though
[22:31:00] buu: Why doesn't it recurse in to subdirs?
[22:32:00] Juski: mine does
[22:32:00] Juski: I set it to
[22:32:00] buu: Hrm.
[22:32:00] buu: Perhaps I missed an option
[22:32:00] Led-Hed: anyone here know if MythGame has an option to set xmame to use OpenGL Full Screen?
[22:32:00] Captain_Murdoch: I have a patch to allow you to play mythvideo files through the normal TV Watch Recordings screen, so that would then support a simple playlist. :)
[22:32:00] Juski: it can flatten a whole directory full of subdirectories if you like
[22:32:00] Guest69: anyone know if its possible to save the audio streams only from tv programs using mythtv? I've looked online, but could not find anythign out on the topic..
[22:32:00] Juski: Guest69: it's not
[22:32:00] buu: Guest69: I bet mencoder could do it
[22:32:00] Guest69: thanks,
[22:33:00] buu: (Onec you had the full thing..)
[22:33:00] lightx (n=lightx@188.79.171.66.subscriber.vzavenue.net) Quit ("This computer has gone to sleep")
[22:33:00] Guest69: i'll check out mencoder
[22:33:00] buu: You'd have to pull it all and strip it I believe.
[22:34:00] buu: So does the bash script get passed the name of the file it's currently on?
[22:34:00] Juski: yep
[22:34:00] buu: Led-Hed: What did you need help with?
[22:34:00] buu: Juski: Hrm. Hrmmmm.
[22:34:00] Guest69: are there any other programs that may be able to do that? I was hoping to get a listen to a tv program on an mp3 player,
[22:34:00] buu: Guest69: I'd ask a #linux channel..
[22:34:00] Led-Hed: buu, I have a wrapper script for xmame
[22:35:00] Led-Hed: and I need to have it change Video Mode 1 to Video Mode 2
[22:35:00] buu: What is video mode 1?
[22:35:00] Guest69: k, thanks for your repoonses. : )

[22:40:00] Juski: yup
[22:40:00] Juski: whatever
[22:40:00] confusi0n: sup
[22:40:00] buu: There's probably already a binary named test though =]
[22:41:00] buu: Hmph. I'll just rewrite mythtv. BRB.
[22:41:00] Juski: from that you could find out what the 'next' video is, based on the way you want to sort it
[22:41:00] Juski: now now.. this could benefit more peeps than just you
[22:42:00] buu: Yeah but I'd have to modify every file..
[22:42:00] Juski: no you won't
[22:42:00] buu: Why?
[22:42:00] buu: What is mythvideo written in anyway/
[22:42:00] Juski: if I could draw you a diagram on here...
[22:42:00] Juski: lol
[22:43:00] Juski: there's not that much to it.. all its doing is listing stuff
[22:43:00] buu: Language..
[22:43:00] Juski: C++
[22:43:00] buu: What the fuck?
[22:43:00] Juski: what?
[22:44:00] Juski: language!
[22:45:00] buu: C++ is such a bad choice there
[22:45:00] Juski: give me an hour or so
[22:45:00] stamppot: Question: I have solved this once before, but no clue how I did it. I did a re-install of MythTV and I'm reinitializing the database.
[22:45:00] buu: Juski: For what?
[22:46:00] stamppot: However, upon loading mythtv-setup, I get the following error
[22:46:00] stamppot: "Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes
[22:46:00] Juski: buu: I'm playing with a script now
[22:46:00] stamppot: It has something to do with UTF8 in the database, but how do I solve it...
[22:46:00] Juski: buu: gonna do it with some perl
[22:46:00] buu: Ah
[22:46:00] buu: Everyoen loves perl.
[22:47:00] buu: Well, I'm heading out again.
[22:47:00] confusi0n: jesus
[22:47:00] confusi0n: is 92 degrees for a cpu safe? thats if sensors is reporting it right. its been compiling for about 5 minutes
[22:47:00] Juski: confusi0n: how's the box that dare not speak its name?
[22:47:00] confusi0n: lol
[22:47:00] Juski: centigrade? hell no!
[22:47:00] confusi0n: again, not done anything with it yet... sitll waiting for updates
[22:47:00] Captain_Murdoch: stamppot: I think you want "ALTER DATABASE mythconverg DEFAULT CHARACTER SET latin1;"
[22:47:00] confusi0n: it should cool down now, just turned a fan on
[22:48:00] confusi0n: it idles at like 48
[22:48:00] confusi0n: i dont think my sensors config is accurate though
[22:48:00] stamppot: Captain_Murdoch: that sounds exactly like it!
[22:48:00] stamppot: Captain_Murdoch: Thanks!
[22:48:00] Captain_Murdoch: that's in mythtv/database/mc.sql in SVN now.
[22:49:00] buu: confusi0n: Not a problem if it's F..
[22:49:00] confusi0n: i _think_ its actually at 65 c
[22:49:00] Juski: you'd know if it was actually 95 c

[22:51:00] confusi0n: yeah its 66c
[22:51:00] stamppot: It being in SVN was probably the problem, I'm downgrading to see if problems arise under 0.18.1 as well...
[22:52:00] confusi0n: also... lol, this is the first time ive used a none-root account as my main account in say... 5 years? is that bad or what? :/

[23:01:00] Newton01: tvtime doesn't have the same problem.

[23:14:00] nasa: Todd, after ivtv is modprobed...
[23:14:00] Todd: nasa: so.. /sbin/modprobe ivtv should create /dev/video0 ?
[23:15:00] Todd: nasa: I'm attempting to follow the IVTV howto.. as far as I know my card is installed properly.. maybe it's not? or is there another possibility?

[23:29:00] Newton01: My capture card's mixer support three separate audio inputs. What I end up having to do is to switch the recording input to Line-1 and back to the Video source and all of a sudden MythTV will record audio again.
[23:29:00] Newton01: Again, tvtime has no issues at all. It's almost like mythtv tries the audio, gives up and proceeds to only record the video.
[23:29:00] buu: Juski: Solved all my problems yet?
[23:30:00] Newton01: Maybe a spike in the audio or something?
[23:30:00] Newton01: Nobody's had any similar problems?
