[00:45:00] kormoc: install qt 3.3.3?
[00:46:00] kormoc: or patch mythtv
[00:47:00] mchou: ok, is it my imagination or myth no longer is capable of adjusting hue saturation, etc during playback? "F" key.....

[00:49:00] kormoc: darkfrog, depends on your distro

[04:36:00] BenB: my mythtv stopped recording. I used to be low on disk space, but freed up enough. if I start a recording via S in EPG, I see it in the conflicts screen, and it tells me that it's being recorded, but it's not in the playback list, not do I see the server even attempting to record.
[04:37:00] BenB: basically, it's acting like it's recording as far as the scheduler is concerned, it seems, but isn't actually doing anything.

[11:41:00] fridge: mythtv stopped working for some reason a few days ago, I got it back up again, by completely removing all my config and starting from scratch, disabling the realtime priority threads and configuring the backend not to do any logging whatsoever
[11:42:00] fridge: it seems the backend does excessive amounts of flushing to disk while logging
[11:42:00] fridge: and was pushing the load up too far
[11:42:00] fridge: corrupting my dvb streams
[11:44:00] Tommck: that sucks
[11:45:00] Tommck: what kind of CPU?
[11:45:00] fridge: it's an athlon 1700, but I have to run the fsb underclock or it is unstable, so it is only running at around 1.1ghz
[11:46:00] Tommck: are the DVB cards HD (sorry.. don't know much about the DVB cards... I'm from the US)
[11:46:00] fridge: I did a dist-upgrade in ubuntu and that seemed to kick off the problems, I had it up and running for a few weeks without any issue before that
[11:47:00] fridge: the DVB card supports HD
[11:47:00] Tommck: one card?
[11:47:00] fridge: but I don't tune in to any of the available ones
[11:47:00] fridge: yeah, only one tuner
[11:47:00] fridge: I only watch shows on an old 4:3 TV
[11:47:00] Tommck: hmm... doesn't sound like it should be too bad... if you're just saving to disk
[11:48:00] fridge: so HDTV is pretty pointless at this juncture
[11:48:00] Tommck: this is front & back end in one machine?

[11:48:00] Tommck: are you noticing that the streams are corrupted when you're not watching a recording?
[11:48:00] fridge: and then the backend would start logging about transport continuity errors
[11:49:00] Tommck: interesting
[11:49:00] fridge: Tommck: yeah, they'd only be a few meg and be full of garbage
[11:49:00] fridge: when it was just recording, the frontend being idle
[11:49:00] Tommck: weird
[11:49:00] Tommck: I wonder what in the ubuntu upgrade changed

[16:51:00] Geckofiend: mtjs here's the big question: do you simply know you have a prebuffering pause from looking in the log or is it something that you see while wtaching
[16:51:00] mtjs: Geckofiend: I know from looking in the log...
[16:51:00] mtjs: AND if i watch and it 'pauses' breefly
[16:52:00] Geckofiend: so the question now is, live tv or recording, remote or local frontend
[16:53:00] mtjs: Geckofiend: all on same machine, it is the mythfrontend that gives the prebuffering pause
[16:53:00] mtjs: and live tv

[21:37:00] MidgetSchool: AranC23: frontend, backend, or both/
[21:37:00] Geckofiend: laga mythmovietime allows you to see what's showing in theaters in your area, full movie data (even who made the soundtrack) as well as start times. plus it lets you buy tickets via MythBrowser
[21:38:00] davis: should I run mythtv or mythtvfrontend from commandline?

[21:40:00] Beirdo: Geckofiend: let me guess.. USA only?
[21:40:00] Geckofiend: company called Elara. They've been working with some of us devs, as well as Tribune to work out a partnership to expand myth
[21:40:00] hadees: Geckofiend, do they have a web site?
[21:41:00] Beirdo: as long as said partnership doesn't bugger up the progress of mythtv in general, and doesn't end up hurting the end user :)
[21:41:00] Geckofiend: Beirdo actually, they're prepared to offer DataDirect to EU folks. Problem is the data from Tribune for EU costs a ton. If there's enough interest that they can hit a break even point then they'll offer it
[21:41:00] AranC23: MidgetSchool: frontend... very heavily used too, doesn't seem to perform as well under 0.17... was flawless under 0.16

[21:46:00] AranC23: MidgetSchool: I use the xbox dvd remote... all I did was the mechinstaller software hack, then installed xebian via the mythtv-xbox install scripts
[21:46:00] hadees: Geckofiend, yeah but to get VC you need to show them somthing
[21:47:00] hadees: did they just show up with mythtv
[21:47:00] hadees: why the hell didn't i do that
[21:47:00] MidgetSchool: AranC23: and you used the HD that comes with the XBOX? cool.
[21:48:00] AranC23: MidgetSchool: not really... I never tried doing 720p or anything, but one xbox had an HD pack and I did 480p... the other xbox is just s-video I think
[21:49:00] Geckofiend: hadees well no it's not quite that simple. Myth isn't their business, they're a hardware/IP company . They want Myth on down the road to run on some of their hardware
[21:49:00] AranC23: MidgetSchool: also, the hd pack is a separate purchase
[21:49:00] Geckofiend: rather than take myth and run like the D1 guys, they wanted to do things right. So they approached me, and approached Isaac about how we could all work together
[21:50:00] MidgetSchool: oh... I thought they came with one. so with just an xbox from the store and some software hacks you can have a mythtv frontend just like that?
